Hello,
i have a weird failure on my HD2: The wallpaper is always black, doesn't matter if selected something else. The weather function is ok, only the background is black.
The way menu->home wallpaper->wallpaper weather is dead, there comes nothing to choose.
Did i delete the folder, need help, always a black screen is boring

Do you have cookie home tab? If you dont try it, there is so many things you can do include wallpaper changing whereever you want

So I'm having trouble with my today wallpaper and the TF3D background wallpaper. I'm using the first image as the jpg (480x640) as the wallpaper. It looks fine. The second and third pictures are my today screen and home touchflo screens. You should be able to tell that the wallpaper is faded now, but on my SecondToday screen the wallpaper looks fine. Is there something I can do to correct this problem? I've searched the forums and all throughout my device, but I can't find a way to correct the problem.
I'm using Energy ROM 2 with Showaco's backgroup wallpaper for all tabs. Is there a way I can bypass the setting of the wallpaper and just copy the image as another name? Where is the wallpaper stored?
If you set your wallpaper in your Today settings it automatically gives it like 40% transparency. No way I have found to change this. However, if you go to Manila settings and change it there, it should have no transparency.
If that doesn't work, try setting your manila wallpaper with this program.
Also for the actual today screen, try this program if you like it to change occassionally.
Thanks Bruce for the suggestions. The Diamond background changer didn't work either. I really don't care about the Today screen being faded, but the manila wallpaper being faded is really annoying.
Anyone else have a suggestion?
Sorry man, I don't have these issues at all.
My backgrounds all look fine.
Go to Pictures and Video (the default picture viewer), and select your picture. Then, select "Use this as home screen / background".

this is the key..no extra apps and 100% success everytime....
I found a solution. I uninstalled Showaco's All tabs background and reinstalled it and it fixed the problem. I don't know what caused it to begin with, but at least now its' fixed.

very easy.
when u want to change manila wallpaper (setting> personalize) , u have 2 option:
weather wallpaper
animated wallpaper
choose animated wallpaper and then select favorite wallpaper. now u have no weather animation in home screen.
i thought so, too, but there is still a little animation, right between my location and the alarm...
I noticed that too, I dont know if you would be able to remove that without installing some modded files - thats if there is a way to completely remove the weather animations at all.
If you would like a static, non animated wallpaper on your homescreen:
on the homescreen press menu (right softkey)
then press Home Wallpaper and finally press Animated Wallpaper. This will start HTC albums with three animated wallpapers in the directory. At that point, instead of selecting one of those three wallpapers press 'Albums' (right softkey), go to My Device or Storage Card and browse for the desired wallpaper.
The wallpapers used for the lockscreen are in My Device -> My Wallpapers. Those are static, no animations at all. You will still get the animation on the weather tab tho...
Hope this helps.
The only method to do this currently is to rename the WeatherService.dll entry in the registry to stop it from loading on startup. However, it comes with a few side effects.

the other option is to not update the weather. Click on the clock and add you city. Once this is done click on it and then just never update the weather and you will have no weather animation.
It's not an ideal solution but it works. Other than that use the animated wall paper like everyone else says

This won't stop the weather animation next to the clock and alarm.
it will if you dont update the weather as it doesnt know what to put there. you end up with this
Hi,
Nice Work
Weather thingy was right in the way in the middle of the screen!
Cheers,
Gavin
I wanted one of the weather wallpapers without the actual weather animation so i went into the folder with the weather wallpapers in and copied it into the folder with the animated wallpapers. This was then shown with the animated wallpapers allowing me to use a weather wallpaper without the animation. Animated wallpapers are located in Device/Windows/Animated Wallpaper. I can't actually find the weather wallpapers folder now. I know it's there somewhere but i can remember exactly where.
If you find the folder can you let me know cos it's annoying me that i can't find it.
Hi,
Weather is back in the middle on the screen and I can't shift it
Any ideas, please?
Cheers,
Gavin
On my TD2 I modded the 1c684cd8_manila (manila name: home.mode9).
Search for
Code:
<Property Name=Instance Name Value="Home_WeatherCom">
and add
Code:
<Property Name=Visible Value="False">
It removes the weatherfunction up to the displayed location name
And you can still use autoupdate and the weathertab
Edit: The attached CAB only works for Topaz Devices with WM 6.5 and Sense 2.1
Cab doesnt work for me, hd2 1.48 factory rom - T mobile.
remove weather animation
Hello guys. I am not sure if this will work on htc Leo, but I am using Leo ROM on my device and this work with no problem. Use Reg Editor :HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila] "Home.WallpaperMode"=dword:00000002

As David Balfour said, if you don't update weather it won't be there.
Bare in mind, you will have to wait for the 5 day forcast to run out!!!

then you have to modify the manilafile yourself with m9editor.
i dont know if its the same filename as on my TD2 but the code should work anyway. the manila name is home.mode9. good luck
I need some help with all this CAB file talk. I was able to install one of the background editors in order to make my own LOCK SCREEN wallpapers, but when I try to change my home screen, I can select the pics but the wallpapers never change unless its one that was already installed on the computer. How are you guys able to do this?
I just installed cookie 1.8.5 on my hd2, i also had hdwall on it as well so that I could make the background tranparent. The weird problem I have is that when my phone goes to lock screen and I unlock it, the top and bottom parts of my screen are skinned but the actual wallpaper is one of the default wallpapers on my phone. when i scroll to another tab and come back the wallpaper changes to what I initially wanted. Anyone know what's going on here?
I have manilla version 2.5.20124112.2
avoid using HD walls. select HQ Wallpaper option in editor!! find the picture you want, select skin bars. it will restart your device. then for home screen select the same picture so it completes the whole image over your home screen. i have used this without any issues. use sk tools to clean up your phone, it have have junk slowing it down. also beware their alot of bugs still in cht 185, overall it runs pretty stable.
i uninstalled hdwall, but i still have the same problem. it's just weird that after coming out of the lock screen it shows a different wallpaper than what i selected. and it only changes back after i move to another screen and back
A good idea would be to post over in the CHT thread....youll get lots of support there
I have some questions about Htc diamond 2...
How can i change the themes of my device?
Where can i find it?
Its possible to disable the internet acess?(sometimes, by mistake i turn it on and spend me money...)
If im posting in the wrong place, please tell me where can i post.
Thanks
Themes:
On WM6.1. Settings. Personal tab. Today. Select your theme, then press OK.
Disable internet:
On WM6.1, this is how I did it. Settings. Connections tab. Connections. There should be some options like My Work. You can either delete these, or just change the settings to something totally different.

Hi there...Thanks for the help.
In the internet problem i changed the settings and it seemĀ“s to work nice now...thanks...
But in the themes i change the themes where you told me but, i didin't noticed any change...i mean, it seems that the only thing that changed was the color of the text...
When changing the themes, did you want to change the Manilla theme? As in, the whole slider/weather/clock?
If so, that is slightly different. You need to install CAB files that change each bit you want. So if you want a slider that has a transperant background, then install the CAB that does that. If you want different icons on each tab in the slider, then that is harder again. You need to unpack the CAB for a slider, insert your own icons, then re-pack the CAB, then install.
If you are just wanting to change the background in the home tab of Manilla (clock, weather [if WM6.5], calender), then slide across to settings, click Wallpaper, click on No, then choose your picture.

...i want to change first screen, the slider, weather, clock...but i dont know what to install...and what is manila??Is some kind of theme??
I look for manila in the search tryng to see something but i cant find a explanation about it...it looks that everyone knows what is manila and i'm the only one that dont...
Thanks
Manila is like a program running on top of the windows. go to Settings > Personal tab > Today, under "item" tab you will see "HTC sense" checked. HTC sense is the manila.
if you don't wanna use manila, just uncheck it (HTC sense) and you will have a empty today screen. Or choose "windows default" if you wanna use "titanium" that came with winMo.
if you wanna customized the way manila display, Co0kie's Home Tab is a good option. else if you wanna totally change the appearance, go for theme like Maxsense or anything else you can find.
if you wanna change the taskbar icon, find some cab over this forum will do the work.
