Hey, you can get launcher pro plus which has good widgets, also you can use Fancy Widget for the clock..
But as you can use a proper HTC Sense rom why don't you use that?
Try the paid version of launcher pro.

You could always use an app called Beautiful Widgets. It's gorgeous and looks almost identical to the HTC widget.

I tried that one as well Today i will try another sense build, if that one drains my battery i will go back to the one i had first with 14 % drain overnight 6-7 hours.
The latest one had 35% drain on 6 hours.
What is a normal drain on a real Android with sense?

With 3G turned on all night and background syncing in place, I wouldn't be at all surprised to lose 14%, especially on a 3rd party ROM on a 3rd party device such as you're using. 35% on the other hand, is ridiculous.

Yes and now i'm back on the one that i tried first and are down to 10% / 6-7 hours sleep. SO i'm a happy camper again.

Tweetdeck is out of beta and Tweetdeck 1.0 is available in the market and installs on the x10 and perfoms quite well..... (actually just installed it)

Make sure you increase the polling time in settings, the default time is set to 2 min.... or its a huge battery sucker i guess....
I haven't seen any issue (battery drain) with the 3 min. timeline update but I'm only using it for twitter though. But so far I'm loving it before TD I was using Twicca.

Thanks for the info. Read of the battery drain in the comments section of the TD blog, so assumed it as a battery drainer. Gonna reduce my polling time as well,
What is the advantage over twicca/seismic/touiteur?
Have facebook and twitter through tweetdeck updating every 3 mins. I can't see any battery drain or anything out of the normal battery wise

Me neither, best thing it is free and without adds. Works very well on my phone without battery drain.
Before I tried this I used tweetcaster. I like the way you can set up that app to your likings, but with tweetdeck I like the way the pics are shown.
For the moment I will use this one...
Sent from my rooted X10i using tapatalk
Yeah I like the way it shows pics as well no need for a plug in like twicca only thing missing that I noticed is twitter longer but not really a big deal something they can add in later.
Sent from my X10a using XDA App
Yep this is one of the best among there and after some continuous usage I can confirm that there is no heavy battery drainage which is a big PLUS for TD....

thank you for letting us know. this is nice.
one slight thing: for twitter the nice widgets are only usable from 2.1 or higher...so we have to wait for using the widgets.

This is an ugly UI.

i personally hate the update.. no changes to the UI or the lockscreen or nothing,... u shouldnt have to D/L other programs just too change the UI, the update should do that.. just my personal opinion

The only reason i updated was for gingerbread and quicksettings. Speed-wise it seems to be about the same as froyo.
I agree with you on the speed. Everything seems to fun better. Like browsing cnn.com on desktop mode. Before the update it would lag pretty bad for me while scrolling. Also noticed that using my bluetooth headset works better.
It would have been nice to see changes to the default UI but I am totally happy with the update.

Why would they change the ui?
Take a minute and think about it. How many people have this phone and do nothing to mod it... or have any clue how to.
So... if they changed the ui from what the phone was sold with... do you think the average dumbass human would take the time to learn.... or just take the phone in or call freaking out.

Battery life. AMAZING. I would get 10 hours on froyo. 1gb data a month..web browsing YouTube Facebook etc.. hundreds of texts a day. Push email. Take a couple pics a day with flash.sync and auto brightness on. Occasional GPS.
16 hours of battery life. 11am - 3am. Wow. Today I only charged it a little to 65%. I got 9-10 hours from that with the same usage.
If I use it from 7am on, im confident it'll be on low battery at 11pm, rather than after dinnertime.

Ok, pretty sure I rooted the phone properly(no problems at all, besides battery) and did all the right wipes and what not, just too noob to detail it the right way.
Have tried to calibrate the battery to no avail. Used Current Widget, waited till 0 mA then deleted batterystats.bin with root explorer...also tried it using battery calibration app.
So, my next guess is Sense. I have read its a battery hog...how exactly do I remove it? And will that effect my one gmail account? I also don't use the Sense FB or Twitter, I use the offical apps...not sure if those work without sense either...

The battery drainer is sense account.. Not sense launcher
If you have htc sense account just remove it
To check for it
Go to settings-accounts and sync
If there is htc sense account there just delete the account. It's a hella battery drainer
To remove sense launcher .. There is an easy way.. Just use another launcher..
Apex launcher, go ex launcher Or any other

Try this aosp mod,it will remove sense from ur phone. before doing anything make a backup of ur phone and have 4ext recovery..

I would also encourage you to just use a different launcher and remove the Sense account. The Sense camera, contacts, and lockscreen are far superior to stock.
I'm running OrDroid w/ Sense 4.0 on my Sensation and get great battery life.

see my previous post in this same thread for removing sense account.
for launchers
i found nova launcher and apex launcher equally good (just down load the apps and run them )
So I looked under accounts and sync and I actually don't even have a Sense account synced...only my gmail, FB, Twitter, and Weather. I'm not exactly sure what you all who say the sense launcher are talking about...but I do know I have 4ext recovery. Anyways...I can't figure this battery out at all...Spare Parts shows HTC Sense on the very top in my usage statistics...and on my battery history graph it shows a near complete solid bar on Awake, even when screen is off...but my battery has only been in 50 min since last reboot. I stopped using this phone a few days b/c the battery life issue. Perhaps I need to hang around a battery thread and post some screen shots to get help

I'd try a senseless rom, ie virtuous or hypernonsense.
Sent from my HTC Sensation using XDA
If you want to remove Sense, you have to root and install a custom ROM.
I like this ICS Rom, and I don't want to lose a lot of the features it has, particularly the stock camera. It claims to have great battery life. I think I just have to get to the bottom of it, then I'll be happy. But the current battery life makes it almost useless when I am away from home.
