Will it be possible to mod the framework to have a thin status bar like the current one in 1.6? Or would it not be possible to downscale all the larger icons?
Thanks

Downscaling wouldn't do the trick, unfortunately.
Today, I tried to do the opposite: the "fat" status-bar from 2.1 to 1.6.
(see here)
The status bar changed but the size was the same.
So, I guess, the size of the status-bar is controlled in some xml file in the framework.
I am sure someone will come up with a workaround,
after we update and after we acquire root access.

I did some digging and I think the size is in the status_bar.xml.
I tried to import it from the 2.1 framework, but my phone wouldn't start.
So, yes, definetely not possible with simple copy-paste.
Luckily, the 2.1 update is close!
i think it's possible...
if change the true size is not possible, you can always make a thin bar and the rest of size put transparent

That wouldn't look right actually...
The icons would still be big and overlapping the bar, so nope.

Ok, let me get this straight:
On 1.6 the statusbar is thin.
On 2.1 the statusbar is fat, meaning bigger, wider than the one in 1.6.

we are talking about the bar...
if he want make a thin bar, he has to do small icons.
And you can do same that i said to the icons, so it seems to be possible...
I really don't like how the icons and the status bar got bigger in 2.1, it would be nice if we can change it back to 1.6 style after updating to 2.1

First, I take no responsibility for what this may do to your phone. As with any mod backup all your files.
I updated the from just a black status bar and included white battery and wifi status icons. Also included in the mm theme is bluetooth indicators incase the rom you are using changed from the stock ones.

Looks nice. Thanks for the upload. I wonder if it's possible to make it totally transparent?
Yea its totally possible. In using a new set that also changes the battery to a white meter. It matches better with other colors.

Great, i'm looking myself nuts for white battery icons.
It would be nice if you could make them also for the charging icons in white.
Meaning a full set so they all look white.
Anyway i'm using them in white and blue, blue for the charging icons.
Thanks for posting this.

So I tried this and the font color still isn't right. It's supposed to be white but it's black just as stated before. I pulled your framework res apk and everything but still nothing...any ideas?
It's just the clock font that's screwed up. I'm not sure why....I'm gonna keep messing with it but I really have no idea why it's doing that

No it's the clock font in the system tray. It's black so you can't see it when the system tray is also black. It should be white but I don't see an option for it. But here it is chief

My idea of theming is putting on my own wallpaper and having a green icon for the messaging app...that's it.
So does this only change the font size in the lockscreen bar to properly show the date? I tried other fonts and was not happy about how they reduced and blurred messages in texts.
well i havent used bonsai in a while so i dont know what battery icon, or status bar icons, or text colors... or many other elements they use.. but this will change all of that to either stock or srf style, depending on which fix you use...
THANK YOU!!!! this has been driving me crazy

Not sure...
I have not installed GB yet (I am waiting for CWM first), but I think this was designed for KD1. You can try if you like, but there is no way to back up your install ATM, so it is pretty risky.
