RSS full-article app? - Android Apps and Games

I'm looking for a news reader that will pull the entire article instead of just the RSS feed (which is just headlines). I take the train to work every day, and I'd like to be able to read the news even when I'm underground.
Does anyone know if an app like this exists or is in development?

google newsreader from stock roms has an option to "download full article".
open app, go to settings-> google news settings -> second checkbox "pre-download text".
cannot tell the exact name, because I work on a german version of google news.

NewsRoom can do that too, but it's paid.

"Pulse News Reader"
Great rss/news reader I found yesterday
Full articles in app (click "web"), pictures, widgets
Free in the market, no ads!
[edit] I'm just looking at pulse now, and I don't think it will actually pre-fetch the articles. Sorry. Still a good reader.

Version 1.8 of Pulse News Reader (in the Market now) includes this new feature:
Offline sync: No internet? No problem. Pulse loads the news stories you read, and makes it available wherever you are.

I use NewsRob. Does offline caching to SD card and lets you configure how many articles and lets you decide what to cache (Images, articles, websites). I syncs with Google reader. I love it!

Looking for a RSS Reader

Is there any RSS reader that acts like Google Reader. Most important feature i need from Google Reader is the possibility to view 20 articles at a time and then mark them read and read next 20 articles. RSS Readers i've tried has options to mark all articles as read or one article at a time and since i have subscribed to many feeds with >100 articles it's impossible to read them all at once.
Try newsrob. It's on the market
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA App
i really like FastReader, also on the market
I highly recommend Feedr. It aint free, but the integration with Google Reader is excellent and it syncs fast.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
What about gReader in the marketplace? It syncs against Google Reader, shows 20 articles at a time, you mark those as read/unread, you can star/unstar, etc..
I wish it stored in SD, it seems to do it to ram, but otherwise it works pretty good.
I also hear using the Android Browser to Google Reader (mobile website) works fine too, haven't tried it. It's awful in Opera, but someone suggested using the built-in browser.
Hmm, how about a good RSS Reader that supports properly import of OPML files?!?!
Is there any good rss reader, comparable like RSS Hub or pRSSreader ?!?!
I indicate those two apps, cause both can import OPML files, and most important, can keep the structure of my the RSSs, in directories...
It's hard to find a good (free) android RSS reader, cause there are many choices and most of them are more orientated to work with google reader...
Anyone??
If you have php-webspace you can use Tiny Tiny RSS on that and use my client for your phone. I just opened a thread about it in this forum, it is in "Android Development and Hacking -> Android Apps and Games -> ttrss-reader, Android client for Tiny Tiny RSS (php)"
(sry, cant post direct link because i just registered and am not allowed links to prevent spam...)
Greetings,

[REQUEST] [APP] Google Reader App with full web?

I use NewsRob to read Google Reader Engadget.com articles, but it never downloads the comments and is unable to do so. I have to open each article in the browser in order to read the comments, and use Home Long Press to swap back and forth between the two apps constantly.
Is there any Google Reader app that allows you to see the full webpage within the app? The free-er the better.
I use NewsRoom does the same thing. I can just press back and it goes back to App. Outside of comments its all there though , images etc.
Even the stupid Geniewidget leaves the app now.
I hate it. Should be self contained.
it doesn't allow comment viewing but most dont however I for sure reccommend Pulse, very pretty and intergrates with google reader. I reviewed it here on Droiddog
http://www.droiddog.com/android-blog/2010/07/app-review-pulse/
Google Reader itself doesn't show comments if they aren't in the RSS feed.
The engadget app does that. Its pretty decent and you can post and reply within the app.

Concerning Minimal Reader Pro Refresh Problems

Hello.
Seeing as how I'm new here, I cannot yet post this information regarding the Minimal Reader Pro thread in the Android Development and Hacking > Android Apps and Games area. If there's an admin that feels that the following should be moved to that area, please feel free.
Concerning auto and manual refresh problems:
I experienced the same problems described in most recent posts in the thread, and have so far been able to perform manual and automatic refreshes to draw new feed items into the widget by consolidating all of my feeds under a single folder (label) in Google Reader.
I have local news, Engadget Mobile, CNET, CNN, and Yahoo news all filed under simply "News" in Google Reader, and now the widget refreshes without issue. Three refreshes 30 minutes apart produced new unread items for each individual feed.
I would prefer to keep the feeds separate in Google Reader, but hopefully my workaround will provide the developer some insight into what's going on with the app. I'll post meaningful updates as I have them to share.
Cheers,
C.

Yes, totally agree. And the best part, according to me, is that this is probably the only feed reader on Play Store which allows you to share the full feed content with anyone over email!

[APP][4.2+]Pure Rss - Offline Rss Reader(Out of Beta)

Being an avid news reader, I really missed the good old Google reader when it shut down. After that, a couple of services like Feedly, FlipBoard popped up...but I didn't like the curation done by them. Feedly is an awesome service...but its UI has become really old and no longer interesting.
I prefer my news only from a couple of websites and don't want any curation. In my opinion, an Rss reader should be lite and offer a complete offline support -- I hate turning my phone to a brick when the network goes off.
So I started off on this project initially for my personal use, but decided to release it for public use. It is adfree and I don't hold any backend servers to serve the feeds. This app grabs the feeds directly from the websites you subscribe to and save them on your device. I have provided a couple of default feeds, but you can add your own feeds as well. OPML import available too.
This app has come out really well so far and now, I can use some feedback from the XDA community to perfect it Please let me know how I can improve the app further.
Note on Feedly Support Feedly support is done, but the developers at feedly have closed down support for new apps. I will enable that as soon as I get a response from them here https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/feedly-cloud/6OHPVevlnRM. If you have a developer token and would like to use that feature, let me know and I will push an update with limited feedly functionality(250 api calls per day, manually refresh your token every 30 days).
I am currently working on having support for NewsBlur service here.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.udn4hc.purerss
To list out a few features in the app -
- Complete offline support
- flip scrollng - similar to flipboard
- pager scrolling - similar to feedly
- standard Android scrolling with lists and cards
- Custom sync/cleanup
- Alternate Themes - 11 currently, including a dark theme
- Material Design
- OPML Import
- Add Custom feeds
- 6 fonts available
- Readability mode - Save full articles from websites(this is in beta and hence, the option is slightly hidden)
Looks interesting! I'm gonna try it this evening.
Any way to import the subscription list from Feedly besides adding them one by one? If you could import the subscription list there would be no need to use the Feedly API.

You can export your subscription list from feedly as an OPML file...and import it in this app. You can have all your subscriptions that way.
