I'm trying to put the Inc browser on my dad's fascinate so he doesnt need to use bing anymore.
Is this possible without rooting?
Thanks
Why not download a different browser in the marketplace?

Good question. I feel stupid.
But can I then put the google search widget on his phone as well?
I don't think that's possible on the facinate without a custom rom.The HTC browser. Apk requires some HTC framework wich the facinate present have. Otherwise you'll have to use a different launcher and download some third party apps.

It is possible to have Google search on a Fascinate. The store rep did it himself for us when our company bought a Fascinate. As for a different browser, download Dolphin from the Market and take it for a test drive.
...my $.02
Applications rely on Framework the Samsung framework will not support the Incredible's HTC apps.

Well, I'm liking the MT4G so far. One of the few things I don't like: T-Mo has replaced a lot of the stock 2.2 applications that I quite liked. For example, the stock 'Gallery' app.
I didn't see it on the market (which isn't the easiest thing to navigate in the first place). Is there any way (besides rooting and so forth) to get this stock app onto this phone, in place of the Gallery app they included? Can it just be side-loaded?
+1
Same thing I am looking for!

i think you just need to send it to your phone and download it from the link
What do you mean?
I found the standard gallery app on the android central forum by searching google. I don't think I can attach it here though. Works great.

pick whichever google app you want from the list (ex: google goggles). click learn more and from there click the 'send goggles to android phone' type in your number and youll get a text with the link to download it. worked with me.
I always found that to crash on my G2.... I like this one

Can someone please post the Google Maps live wallpaper apk. It doesn't show up in my market, thanks.

Im looking for this aswell.
Its only included on Eclair and not on Froyo so could somebody please rip it?
It is part of the Google Maps application, it is not separate.

Yes I know but I wonder why it doesn't show up in my live wallpapers?

Same here. I'm on maps 5.0. No live wallpaper though. Samsung Vibrant running Froyo JL4 ROM. Anyone have any ideas?
No one has any idea?
My HTC Desire has it, but I think it was pre-installed when I bought the phone.
I recently flashed my rom without backing up most of my apps... This one was one of my favs. Like it over the stock Netflix app. I've been able to google most of my apps that no longer exist except for this one... I know they have a paid version in the market now, however I would still like the free version. I was just wondering if anyone could post the apk for me or pm it to me?
Thanks.
I would like this to. For now I am using Movela, not nearly as good as netQ.
AndroidZoom has both the free and paid version on their site.
Yes but it just links to the market which says the app isn't available.
Yeah the app is no longer on the market...
I've tried the links..

Have you tried the netflix stock app?

I found an apk for the leaked "official" netflix app. Although it is nice, it only manages the instant queue, not the DVD queue which I need. if someone has an apk for a version that also has the DVD queue I would gladly use that.
I like the search options and filters of netq, I was hoping someone had a copy...

Anyone?

From what I can tell this seems to be a very popular app for netflix users and no one has an apk of the free version?
I know I'm not supposed to bump my own thread, buy I would like to find this app.
Does anyone have apk?

HTH... if anyone's still looking for it.
I deleted the weather app that came on my Atrix2 phone thinking I had found one I would like better.. not so... now I would like the one that came on the phone anyone know how I can go about getting that app back? thanks
I don't know but I use weatherbug app. Its by far the best I've found.
Sent from my MB865 using Tapatalk
Which app was it? There was an app called "News and Weather" and an app called "Weather."
Well, you could download the ROM that's available in the Development section and extract them from there. Once you extract them ADB push them to your /system/app folder then restart the phone.
You should do research before deleting files from the phone. You are not the first person to delete something, and the same advise comes up; and that is you should always freeze apps instead of deleting them, that way if you feel like you need the app back, you just defrost it. But never delete apps in your /system/app folder unless you know what you are doing.
BTW, I use the Accuweather app and it is pretty good IMHO.
There is a paid app made by Elecont. It is MORE than worth investing in - it is by far better than any free app I have come across, and I have tried many of them.
Been a long time weatherbug fan so Weatherbug elite was the only choice for me
I just recently bought the full version of BeWeather. Uses Weatherunderground weather stations and has pretty widgets and GUI. Highly recommended.

Well I thought it would be a cool idea for a root store type thing, like a market for root apps only. And I thought maybe I could give it a go at at least making a template app and maybe I could get other people to join in or something idk.
Sent from my GT-P5110 using xda app-developers app
App isn't the problem it's getting devs on board also storage server space etc etc a better idea would be a xda app market

Well I would like too make one but I don't know jack for android code, but either way if that type of app existed it would be cool.

You mean like Cydia for iOS right? I can't tell if you mean a type of Cydia Store, or a just an app store. I also had an idea for this a couple weeks back.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk 2
I don't know what that is but like what I had in mind was a app that has categories etc for apps, and it would be like for root stuff, like root apps or apps from people on here and other forums, to kinda localize everything into a easy to navigate spot so you don't have to search a huge forum for a download to someone's app or have to search play store to find the right root apps, because to me finding root apps on play store can be a pain.
But lime I said its really just a idea and it would be a little difficult to get going and make actually happen.
Also a app where its like daily/weekly updates about peoples stuff, but drippler kinda does that.

I might make this app this weekend. The UI would probably be terrible though. If I made this, it would have a ROMs section, tweaks section (mods to system and stuff), an apps section (root apps only), and an App Developers section (apps that started on XDA or another Android Forum, or just apps that I think are cool but are not on the play store. Once I know that the app works and can successfully download and install apps, I will work on the UI to look like the Play Store, except with the Holo Blue accent instead of the green one. It would be my first app, too. I'm also learning Android Development by Team Treehouse, and they show how you can make an app access the internet and pull things from it (which is saving the apk, and then installing).

u would need permission from xda and it's better that they make it.
xda devs don't only make root apps also having roms would be expensive and unnecessary because they'll have to handle a boatload of downloads and space to store all the roms when file-sharing sites work just fine what would be better is u subscribe to a Rom and get updates and links etc from there...
Anyways
Where did u start learning?

I started learning 2 months ago, and where I started learning was at my school. I can stay in my schools library after school for 2 and a half hours and that's when I learn android development. I have Eclipse and the Android Emulator working fine on the computers over there (with permission of course). I found team treehouse when watching a tech video on YouTube, it was an ad and I clicked on it.

Yeah this is like what I was thinking, I mean it doesn't have to be xda it'd probably be better if it wasn't because they would have to be involved and then it would be limited to xda also
