ROM manager doesn't work with our phones. You wil need to flash the Custom recovery mentioned in that thread.
Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is the right section to post this but I recently got a nexus S and tried flashing a ROM on my nexus S. It's rooted already but I keep on getting errors like "E:signature verification failed" and "E:failed to verify" Anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks.

Are you flashing through clockworkmod recovery?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
I'm a newbie at this but all I'm doing is booting to recovery (pressing volume up+power when phone is off) and then going to /sd and then going to my ROM.
I don't know if this is clockworkmod but if it isn't, can you provide me a link to this method?

just do the backup from inside of recovery instead of using the app I think the problem is the naming of the file as it happens while using another rom also. but if you power off the phone and manually boot into recovery and backup that way it works
Thats what ivve been doing

Hi there,
I own a Rogers Samsung Infuse. I rooted and flashed CM9 onto my phone yesterday. Long story short, had an issue with Google Apps, and ended up with a phone that would constantly boot to the CWM Recovery screen.
I was able to use ODIN3 to get my phone back to stock, but could not flash CM9 (or anything) with CWM as I was (and still am) getting the:
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
I tried using this: Odin - Stock (100% or Root+3e), but the phone kept getting stuck at the Samsung screen.
I tried watching the modified e3 recovery video on youtube, but my recovery file is sitting in the root folder, and not in system/bin where it should be. I ignored the location of the file, replaced it with the modified e3 recovery file, but when I rebooted my phone, it's as if the changes didn't take place.
I've been digging (maybe not hard enough) for a solution to this problem. CM9 looked fantastic for the 5 minutes I had it on my phone.
What can I do now?
It sounds to me like you lost cwm recovery if you want to flash cm9 you need to flash the ics recovery file. Doesn't verify signature verification

Out of curiosity, would you happen to know of CMW isn't compatible with either CM9 or AOKP's ICS?

Compatible...? You have to be on blue cwm to flash cm9 & aokp ....red cwm will not work...that's why you do a two flash...
My first attempt to get into CWM recovery after getting my phone back to stock and re-rooting put me into red recovery mode for reason. I ended up in blue recovery mode after trying to flash/reboot once? I completed the process in blue recovery to ensure it works, and it's been good since Monday. Only the Kernel Panic Upload Mode is giving me trouble...
I also got this problem
I also got this problem tell me please what can i do , i cant install any modes

Can you please let me know the link for the recovery file ? I could not find the link in the thread. I am also getting the same error blow.
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Thanks for your help.
You want the blue (ics) recovery to be able to flash an ics rom?
Look at this guide, you will find the heimdall one click linked in the OP.

I can see Blue letters while starting the phone in recovery mode. I assume that is Blue CWM. Please correct if I am wrong. If that is Blue CWM, then I need the recovery file. Please help.
Thanks
Bidhu
Not necesarilly. The stock 3e recovery also has blue letters, but you should be able to tell them apart. It actually says 3e at the top and only has about 3 options to select.

Hey, i've been getting this 'status 7' error on my galaxy tab 2 10.1. I tried insatalling omni rom 4.4 but it didnt install the first time. So, i went to the updater-script and then tried to remove the assert part of it using editpad lite but apparently it doesnt have assert written but it did have the get prop part so i removed it but the same problem persists. I hav3 even redownloaded it but still it says some symlinks failed.

Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. The errors that you've been encountering while attempting to install the ROM are usually caused by the user trying to install a ROM that isn't intended for that device. Where did you find the ROM?
I downloaded the rom from the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581782

Which variant do you have (P5100/P5110/P5113)? And which exact link are you using?

Well i tried to install one of these omni-4.4.4-20150120-p5110-NIGHTLY.zip
But didnt work and so assuming the download probably was wrong i redownloaded and then tried to unzip and then edit the updater-script but it just had no assert line in it. I today tried to flash cm-11-20150209-NIGHTLY-p5110 but that didn't work either. On this occasion it says that i cannot install this ROM over incompatible data or something like that

Ok, but you haven't answered my other question, I can't help you effectively unless you give the information that I ask for. So, which variant do you have (P5100/P5110/P5113)? Also, did you perform a full wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik cache) when flashing the ROM? The "cannot install this ROM over incompatible data" suggests that you didn't.

If you've flashed a stock ROM then yes Toynbee lost root. Just boot into your TWRP recovery again and go directly to the reboot screen and select reboot system, it will ask again if you want to root it, select yes.
Best of luck with your device.
