[Q] YouTube app won't install. - Nexus One Themes and Apps

Anyone know why?

Facing the same issue
Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk

same.. did everything... I could do. Same issue with Voice search too!

I uninstalled the old version with titanium, fixed permissions (don't know if this actually helped), restarted, and then the new youtube installed fine from the market. Good luck

M running cm6 uninstalled the existing version with titanium then reboot.
Once done go to market get the latest version n guess what it installed
Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk

You have to remove it first with adb or su-File Manager then install from the market...or just flash the latest Gapps gapps-hdpi-20101020.1-signed.zip

Thanks, it worked.

Try clearing the market cache and see if that helps (Menu/Settings/Applications/Manage applications/Running or All/Market/Clear cache). Maybe also wiping the Dalvik cache.
Whenever i installed and i opened it says server connection error, retry or cancel. Can anyone help me?

wiped cache/ rebooted
Nope still didnt work. I wiped both.
Glitches are gone, but it just deletes itself after a while or a reboot, this is maybe an issue with gingerbread, there might be a gingerbread only version, who knows...

I installed the 2.2.6 unofficial, and uninstalled it, went back to regular.
The next day, I found out it updated by itself!
It works maaaad (edit) OK, but I see that main page's sliding apps thing takes like half screen :S
But the rest I like it.
Edit: When it's restarted after killed by task manager, it starts reeeeaally slow!

Can you make a flashable zip please ?

Code:
$ adb install Downloads/com.android.vending-2.apk

pkg: /data/local/tmp/com.android.vending-2.apk
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_ALREADY_EXISTS]
$ adb install -r Downloads/com.android.vending-2.apk

pkg: /data/local/tmp/com.android.vending-2.apk
Failure [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_INCONSISTENT_CERTIFICATES]
Also tried to push it to /system/app/Vending.apk but still getting fcs. Wiping dalivk-cache and app-cache didn't helped.
Using a T-Mobile G1 with CM 6.1 Stable.
Installed this via Bonsai4all 1.0.3. Definitely noticed the difference on my Epic. Used to have very slow loading issues and everything transitions in a flash now.
Strange...I saw that I already had this version installed when I tried to launch the apk.

Swype Beta 3

Does the download from their official website expire?
I downloaded and installed it last night, was working great. This morning it would not work and gets a blue outline when I Swype. Has it expired? Should I try reinstalling it?
Any help appreciated.
(Running Continuum V6)
i had the same problem. I had to reinstall it. I dont think it expires unless swype releases another update - someone can correct me if I'm wrong, here.
Did you change anything from when you installed it to when it wouldn't work? Like your build.prop? Swype doesn't like that.
Reinstalling or reverting any changes would probably fix it.
Yes I've reinstalled and all is well again. I didn't change a thing so I keep checking to see if it's still working, heh. Thanks
1) Uninstall Swype Installer
2) Delete /system/app/Swype.apk (I use Root Explorer, but you can use adb, TiBu, etc... your choice)
3) Delete /system/lib/libSwy*
4) Reboot into recovery, wipe Dalvik Cache
5) Install the beta again.
Mine was having the same issue and I followed these steps. Beta 3.0 installed and is now working.
did you license it through the swype installer
This may be a miui thing but to get swype beta working here are my steps.
Swype not installed
Get installer apk from web site
Install full version
Let the installation complete up to the screen where finish is an option
Do not select anything
Power off, then on. When powered on swype is installed and working
Sent from my I897 using XDA Premium App
I also had to reinstall it.
the EVO_SWYPE APK on Google./xda. Its permanant and works. That is if nothing above works for ya.

"package file is invalid" for flash player in VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition

I flashed with "VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition STABLE RC1". I'm impressed how everything works smooth and great. Market downloads and installs if I connect to google talk first.
The adobe flash player downloads but cannot install, it gives : "package file is invalid". Other apps installs.
I tried the suggestions that I found in the forum, including rebooting, reseting trying to install from file, trying to install different versions 10.1 10.2 or 10.3 without any luck.
Still the same error. Before trying to flash it again, I wanted to as if anybody have a suggestion ?
thanks in advance.
i also have the same problem. went to download flash player 10.3 from android market, for my htc wildfire. it just wont install
Phoned HTC up and they said it means the device dosent support flash
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA Premium App
Use Task Manager, or 'Manage Application', or Uninstaller, etc . . . to check and uninstall any flash player version that was already installed in/with the rom. Then download and install a later version of your choice. I had to do it once before. Hope that it would be the same in your cases.
Dave,

Play store crashing

Is anyone else experiencing random play store crashes when updating applications on the note 10.1
Running the stock jb rom, rooted.
Sent from my GT-N8010 using xda app-developers app
It happened once earlier today when I was doing some manual updates. Running latest update of JB stock.
Sent from my GT-N8013 using Tapatalk HD
Its note your device its google.
I tried to update 3 Samsung based apps on Google and download speed was terrible.
I stopped the down load on the play store and then stared the updates on the Samsung app store and the download took only a few seconds, it was speed that Google previously had.
The issue is still happening at the time of this post, it is becoming very irritating.
Does anyone know how we can flood Google with complaints or has anyone complained and got an official reply?

Also noticed that, but for me the bigger issue is the play store crashing nearly every time I go to manually update my applications

Me too...totally stock GT-N8013 running 4.1.2, not rooted.
Yup. Every once in a while I'll try to manually update my apps and the Play Store will force close on me. It's happened 3 times already just this morning. I have the N8013 that's running on stock JB + root.

I'm not rooted but ......... Have you tried to install the new playstore apk that is out there to see if it helps?
You may have to do a factory reset to fix it.
Good luck.

Hi there,
If anyone still encountering FC/not dowloading apps for Playstore or market, it might also be the cause of new partition or something like that, you can try this another option freely other than fixing permission of vending.apk on /system/app/..
This might help you guys .
1. check if cache folder has "download" folder inside it, if it no download folder then create one inside /cache, e.g. mkdir /cache/download.
2. then chmod the /cache folder to 777, also make sure the com.android.vending folder is present inside /data/data/ folder.
3. You can achive it through shell terminal.
Hope this helps you guys fix the FC(Force close or not downloading apps on playstore or market).
Thanks

Facebook won't install..

I'm running the KatKiss 6.0 rom on my tf700t. When I try to install Facebook it downloads and then hangs on the install process. Them my launcher starts going crazy and I have to hard boot. Other apps install fine. Not sure what my problem might be.
Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
I was having the same problem when installing the newest version of Facebook from the play store. The fix I found was to install an older version.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2099916
is where I found it & I installed version # 7.0.0.22.28.
I also found that I would get the same problem if Facebook tried to update so I went into settings in the play store & set Auto-update apps to Do not auto-update apps.
Hope this helps.
