LauncherPro VERSION
This is a rooted version of the Official T-Mobile MyTouch 3G (32b) OTA update for Froyo(2.2.1). It is a modified version of what amazinglarry311 has here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=811852. This will PROBABLY be the final update for this ROM. I got a MyTouch 4G, so I need to start working on something for it now. Hopefully this will make everyone happy. There are 2 versions of the final, one with ADW and one with LauncherPro. The Sense style clock/weather widget is now included, and I changed the MMS back to stock...which will hopefully resolve the missing text messages. I still haven't managed to get everything to work with the Apps2SD. However, thanks to G_wiz I have code which allows most apps that you download to be moved to SD. Just enter the following in the terminal:
su
pm setInstallLocation 2
reboot
This is case sensitive! This sets the SD card as the primary install location. So if an app will move to SD, this makes them be installed directly to SD. Someone had also requested a reboot option on the power menu. Still no option for that, but there is a reboot widget you can download from the market for free.
This is for 32b phones, however 32a phones have had success running it as well. You should still be able to flash this on top of Version 1.0, 1.1 or amazinglarry311's version, otherwise you should wipe before flashing. Stock radio and spl should work fine. If you have successfully flashed Cyanogenmod's CM5 or CM6, you should be able to flash this.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes from Version 1.1:
Added: LauncherPro version-LauncherPro 0.8.1.1, Stock MMS, SenseClockDark.apk
ADW Version-Stock MMS, SenseClockDark.apk
Removed: ADW Launcher in LauncherPro version, CM6 MMS in both
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes from Version 1.0:
Updated: Now has ADW Launcher 1.2.0
Removed: Linda File Manager, Astro File Manager, App Backup Reinstall, Contact Backup (these are all available in the Market for free if you want them)
Added:ROM Manager, a better looking music player
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Known Issues:
No Locate by network on Google Maps (also on stock update)
Menu key unlock (also on stock update)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is for 32b. Stock radio and spl should work fine. If you have successfully flashed cyanogenmod's CM5 or CM6, you should be able to flash this.

Menu unlock is not fixed. Haven't figured that one out yet. Not really a problem to me though. I kinda like having 2 options on how to unlock the screen. Haven't had any accidental in pocket unlocks yet.

great stuff man. thank you for your work
flashed it over amazinglarry311's version without a problem.
any chance you could include black notification bar in next update?

The black notification bar would be somethings ADW would have to add in to their app, or someone with more know-how than me. I prefer to use a clock/weather widget and just hide the notification bar. Try this one. Its fully customizable and will even show system stats.

Jbrew, tanks for that sense clock its nice. But how to setup the weather?

Go to weather.msn.com then type in your city. Once your city's weather comes up, look up in the address bar. hxxp://weather.msn.com/local.aspx?wealocations=wc:USAL0082&q=Calera%2c+AL
This is for my city. My code is USAL0082. Just type that in on the widget for your city.

What is MMS from CM6? Probably doesn't apply to me as I can't use MMS without data plan. Also, can I skip the google sign in on this ROM until I turn on wifi? and Lastly, will I be able to remove Linda? Not a big deal if I can't.

The MMS from CM6 is just the text messaging app. Has more options to customize and a black background. I think you can skip through the google sign in, but I'm not sure. I always just sign in. Linda File Manager is built in, but I'm probably gonna leave it out in the next version.

Thanks for the prompt response. Will try it later tonight.

If you're rooted and have a custom recovery image, you should be able to flash with rom manager.

Any thoughts on the SPL & Radio update that accompanied the OTA update discussed on the "[ROM][32b] Official AOSP 2.2 OTA" thread?
I wonder whether/to what extent performance will be affected by the SPL & Radio.
I am currently running CM 5.0.8 (Amon_RA 1.6.2) and am looking to wade gently into the update, do you think it possible to flash this update from CM? (with a wipe of course).
Thanks.

I was running CM5 prior to this on my phone. This is faster than CM5 and much faster that CM6. I didn't change anything on my phone before flashing this so you should be fine. Just do a nandroid backup beforehand in case you decide to go back.

Flashed and Sweet is about all I can say.
Thanks jbrew (& T-mobile/Google I suppose), it really is as snappy as stock Donut (and with ADW Launcher etc to boot, pun intended).

Damaged Rom 2.05 Mods / Themes

This post has been updated for damages new release 2.05.02 is latest one of my builds. Older info on v2.0.1 rom retained at bottom of thread. Awesome stuff damaged, alot of old annoyances were fixed (contacts bug for one). For all the stuff damage fixed go over to thread?t=656690 .
I tweaked the update script & this should be a no wipe if you were on last version of mod. Remove any widgets from your homescreen before flashing for best results. ALWAYS wipe dalvik in recovery right after you flash, I've found best results with this. as always ymmv so nandroid. All old themes should still work, i dont think the seperate dialers links will though. Full already has black dialer. Started to split up rom, light version with only 33.8mb in /system/app/ is up, internal memory was about 115 free with no a2sd from wipe. Pretty sweet with the 5 screen launcher and live wallpapers, also feels pretty fast.
If you are unsure what to get start with the latest version of full mod - DamagedTrev2.05.02.zip
If you enjoy modding mix & match. Light + themes, Light + Sense + themes, browse through the addons too & if you come up with anything good post here ill update first post
OverallTweaks (These are applied to every update file below):
-Memkiller at: cat /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree - 1536,3072,4096,21000,23000,25000
-Working Apps2sd & no wipe (if your lucky)
-quickoffice/wifitether included
-modified firstboot.sh to fix uuids & remove old versions of wifitether if usin apps2sd.
-cleared lockscreen bars
-disabled htc checkin service along with other script tweaks
Only 2.05.02 and newer
-Many Apk Optimizations (things feel alot faster, look at filesizes in /data/app/ !!)
-Launcher hexedited to allow 5 Screens
-LiveWallpapers (some livewallpapers dont work-throws error OpenGL ES Lite not supported)
-Youtube hexed to prefer higher qual stream
If it freezes or stays booting for longer than a half hour you win a wipe. Wipe everything in Recovery menu, data, dalvik & ext. Then start by flashing Light Version then addons.
Issues & Fixes
Ive been using the 'FULL' mod for a few days now and it is very fast & stable. I havent gotten any FC's in day to day use.
*WHEN IN DOUBT WIPE _EVERYTHING_ IN RECOVERY & REFLASH*
-If superuser doesnt work make sure USB Debgging is on in Applications -> Development
-If you dont see all widgets clear data for htc sense under manage applications.
-If your Rosie goes to HTC screen each time make sure spare parts has activity/process management set to normal.
-If you STILL Have problems and dabbled with other 2.x roms before check out your PRI ?t=653735
-Smiley face instead of a down arrow on keyboard? Hold the configure button down & uncheck smiley hack. Reboot phone. You can also get old keyboard back by flashing &postcount=435
-If you want to switch to my modded 5 screen stock launcher just go to settings applications HTC Sence and clear defaults. Then if you press the back arrow or home button a bunch youll get a menu asking what to run & can choose a new default.
-Browser is a bit laggy in 2.05.01. I think i fixed it in .02 with all my other optimizations.
-If you dont use sprint voice mail id remove Sprint_Core.apk from /system/app/ orelse it always runs in backround
-if you have issues with audio cutting out avalaunchmods posted a fix i modified to work with apps2sd & gumbo (TESTING STILL!!!) over in ?t=657244 Please report back if works
Battery Issues:
-Check your awake time in settings -> about phone -> battery. if awake is the same as your uptime you got a problem. If its high run spare parts, go to battery history & check partial wake usage. Mine is 3 hours after 14 up on a single charge and still have 2 bars of battery left. Used GPS/phone/text a good bit battery life is on norm for me. Wipe everything & reflash if you have 100% uptime.
-All alarms/tones/etc work for me out of box with full, couldnt seem to get them not to work. If they dont for you theres probably something else wrong.
Light Version: *NO SENSE!*
Pretty much stock android with HTC dialer + keyboard. Uses HTC lock because stock is busted. Includes sprints vvm, remove if using gvoice its always running.
Everything looks close to stock but no HTC widgets & modified version of launcher so 5 homescreens instead of 3! Includes LWPs. Will probably have to wipe to go to this.
Did a wipe & flash, internal memory was 115MB. - DamagedTrev_2.05.2_LITE.zip

Issues/fixes for old rom
-In full Sense versions Somethings busted with HtcFacebook.apk. If you try to enable it youll get a permasync icon on top. (Try Update zip in addon section, worked for me)
-If your stuck 'permasyncing' without original htcfacebook just go into sync settings and uncheck everything then check them one by one. I ran across that once while i was flashing & seemed to fix it.
-If you have battery issues first check that the sync icon is not permanently on. Facebook update seems to be fixing issues for some try this first
-Maps Multitouch - &postcount=112
-Facebook Fix (Worked for me, took a bit to sync) - Facebook_DamagedTrev.zip

This should be the thread for all Damage 2.0r2 mods from here on out. You should change the title to something like "ALL Damage 2.0r2 MODS"
Sure would cut down on pollution in the main forum

sorry didnt read on my phone
Sorry if this is a noob question, this is my first custom ROM install.
I followed the rooting instructions here: ttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583291
I booted into recovery, installed from the zip, and rebooted.
The nexus one boot up screen was up for a while, then it just froze. Did I do something wrong?

Here is my first theme for you guys Blueraider. This theme is for the Skyraider ROM 2.2 Sense. I have taken every aspect that was green with the default theme and made it blue. I have gone through every single apk in the Skyraider 2.2 ROM and themed accordingly.
The list of edited apk files can be found in the text file in attachments
Installation Instructions:
You must be running Skyraider v2.2 Sense - This theme is untested on other roms and could potentially crash your phone.
In theory it should work with other 2.2 deodexed Sense roms from the 8/1 leak
DO A BACKUP!!!!(This step can be done from ROM Manager)
Copy the Blueraider zip to a directory on your SD Card
In ROM Manager choose install ROM from SD Card and choose the zip you just placed on the card
In the ROM Pre-Installation window put a checkmark next to "Backup Existing ROM" ONLY!!
DO NOT put a checkmark next to Wipe Data and Cache!!
or
You can install the theme from Recovery - Just make sure to do a Nandroid backup first
Thats it.

Forces closes with this theme? What was force closing? If your stuck at the htc screen after a nandroid backup I have no clue, it wouldn't be theme related since it would wipe on a backup.
Great work by the looks of it bud, that's A LOT of apps....lol...a lot of work...too bad its blue and not bright red or I'd barrow them...lol. Oh well looks like it's back to those pesky .9.pngs for me...Great Work again
BTW...You're right the volume slider is not a .png, its an xml file...progress_horizontal.xml in framework-res/drawable. I'm trying to learn how to compile .xmls myself so if you make any advancements...pm me and i'll do the same.

v1.2 added. fc issues fixed, lastfm and swype skinned. check first post.
I like what you've done with the new swype skin but is there any chance you can update the skin the tracer on swype also? having the blue background but a red tracer just seems a bit odd..............otherwise great work and thanks again!

The files that I edited were just png files, the tracer file requires a hex edit which is why I didn't bother. Not a problem though, did a little bit of googling and the tracer is now blue. Link updated in the first post, enjoy!
Just downloaded the blue swype. Very cool. Thanks!
Wow, that was quick.........thank you!!!!
Love everything you've done so far, please keep up the great work!
So for themes you do not need to do a full wipe correct? I followed your instructions and in Rom Manager it gave me the option to back up my rom or do a wipe. I chose the wipe and now I am having to put everything back with Titianium backup. Is there a way to apply a theme without doing a full wipe? Can I just go into recovery and select install zip from sdcard and apply it?

There is no need to wipe. The reason I suggested using ROM manager is to save a couple steps (ROM manager more or less automates the process for you). I guess I should have been a bit more clear with the install directions. You are right, there is no need to wipe. I will update the directions in the first post.
Awesome theme..I have a prob though...After I restored back to my original sky 2.2 rom I applied your theme and my gmail started to fc....I had to install the 2.2.1 gmail.apk http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=746644 to stop it...can you add that gmail to this theme?
Strange, I installed my theme from stock 2.2 skyraider and havent had gmail fc once on me. If others chime up with the same issue I will look into it. In the meantime I can skin the gmail apk you linked, give me some time though im at work for the next 8 hours

Captivate FROYO Issues - 10.6.10 - New! File type restrictions in browser

Current issues/bugs so far with the "leaked" froyo for Captivate:
1.Stock internet browser is very laggy, it is confirmed that there is a memory leak not related to Flash
2.GPS still sucks for some
3.Silent mode does not silent notifactions
4.Cannot download attachments in Gmail
5.Cannot delete multiple e-mails
6.Under Exchange e-mail
1.Cannot download attachments
2.Forwarding an e-mail deletes your message and only send original message
3.Cannot scroll through folders, bounces back
4.cannot forward if there is an attachment in the original e-mail
5.The good news, to fix exchange e-mail, follow this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8453938&postcount=99
6.Note doing the above fix will eliminate the ability to move the e-mail from one folder to nother
7.MMS does not work, cannot receive pictures
8.If you select a contact from a group, it shows a different person, works on gmail and exchange accounts
9.Market does not show protected paid apps, however to fix market apps, follow this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=102
10.Contacts do not always import correctly (joins some and not others)
11.Cannot hear a call over the aux port, must use bluetooth or speaker
12.Force Close when changing fonts
13.3G is slower for some?
14. PHONE CAN'T UNLOCK! - That pisses me off! This should be priority number one for the DEVS : )
15. My browser sees to restrict the file types I want too download. I can't download cognition Roms and some other file types to my phone. Anyone else?

Lets collect the issues and solutions in a separate thread.
Here's one...
Under SETTINGS>SOUND>VOICECALL RINGTONE or NOTIFICATION RINGTONE
If either of those are pressed I get process "com.android.settings has stopped unexpectedly" anyone know how to correct this? Normally I would run fix permissions under clockwork MOD, but that is not working either.

I don't have that issue. Don't tell me you restored things with Titanium Backup...
I think your is an isolated incident. I personally do not have that problem.. Maybe you deleted something by accident?
How did you install Froyo? Did you do a clean flash or did you flash over something else?
I odin 1-clicked back to jh6... then master cleared... formatted SD.. then flashed froyo and I'm not having any problems at all
I don't have that problem either
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897
I also don't have this issue... I was able to set my ringtone with no problem. So far, I've had no issues with this rom at all aside from the minor lag problems here and there, which obviously is a common problem thanks to Twiz...
Didn't restore using TIBU
Hmmm.
I must have deleted something when removing ATT Bloatware..is there a list of the exact APK's for the Bloatware I can bounce off?
FIXED.. Do not delete MEDIAPROVIDER.apk
That was my mistake.
I can set my final ringtone to anything, but individual ringtones are limited to 300kb? Wtf!

I think that spelling will be fixed in future versions. I suspect this is left over from the European SGS 9000 build.

Probably the "Kings English" (UK) version of spelling the word?
and just fyi its not in the swype collection of words. lol
Is ClockworkMod/Rom Manager even usable under this build of Froyo? I have Rom Manager installed, but if I try to boot into Clockwork Recovery I get errors. I was under the impression that it would have to be updated to work with the Captivate Froyo build since the built in option for Galaxy S Captivate in Rom Manager seems to be specifically for Eclair.
For the record, I'm still learning some of this stuff, but I was running Cognition 2.1.6 with the Voodoo kernel. I flashed back to stock using odin 1 click and then flashed using the Froyo Odin download. Somehow in the process I lost all of my Titanium backup data for my apps, but no biggie. I also followed the steps to root and enable sideloading.
Address book is kind of screwy. I have some pre-defined groups that I set up in GMail contacts via the web. They cam eover to the phone when Google synced, but when I click on a contact I get a different one form the one I clicked. This doesn't happen in contacts moved over to "Phone" and put into those groups.

Clockwork doesn't work on Froyo on our phones yet.
How would we backup the ROM?!
Any alternative options to backing up this ROM with Clockwork now out of commission?

You can flash the Eclair kernel with Odin, go straight from there to recovery mode and reinstall packages (provided the ClockworkMod update.zip is in place) and do a nandroid backup when you get into ClockworkMod. Then go from there back into download mode and flash the Froyo kernel. Yes, that solution is pretty stupid. But that's all I can think of.
Like the previous unreleased firmwares, JI6 suffers from missing market apps issue. The best way to demonstrate this is to search for Fandango in Market. On JH7, the link to the market page shows up, while on JI6, there is a message saying not found. I solved that issue by editing the fingerprint section in the build.prop file and replaced 2.2 with 2.1-update1, FROYO with ECLAIR and JH7 with JF6, so it reads like this:
Code:
# Do not try to parse ro.build.description or .fingerprint
ro.build.description=SGH-I897-user 2.1-update1 ECLAIR UCJH7 release-keys
ro.build.fingerprint=Samsung/SGH-I897/SGH-I897/SGH-I897:2.1-update1/ECLAIR/UCJH7:user/release-keys
I rebooted, and Fandango (as well as other missing apps) show up again. Strangely there are apps marked for Froyo that seem to not have disappeared. Were the Froyo apps always visible with JH7? Am I missing any other apps in the market now because I am pretending to be on an Eclair firmware? The issues of editing the fingerprints before were simply a matter of changing the firmware name. Now by having edited the build version, am I creating any other unforeseen issues?
I get a fc when trying to save a image from browser, anyone else?
The only real issue that I've noticed...and It's not really anything broken...is that when I receive a call and slide the bar to answer, it always hangs when sliding the bar for a second. Like I said, nothing broken, just a little annoying.

[ROM][Updated 20/01/11] Higgsy Modded 2.2 ROM - Minimal Moto/Chinese

As I've said before "I ain't No Dev" but like to mod ROM's etc in my own way, A few people had asked me if I would put my 2.2 modded Froyo ROM out there so I am going to.
Please read all of the OP - Coz to be fair I haven't written it for the sake of it!!
Aim: TO provide a fully working, deodexed ROM from the Chinese release, with little or no Chinese and minimal Blur, google apps included. Released as a blank canvas so users can customize to their taste.
This is a the 2.2 Chinese Froyo ROM, Mostly all Chinese has been removed so you won't see any in day to day use. I can only find Chinese in the disclaimers of some (maybe one) stock apps, it is deodexed by me.
So all the Chinese apps are removed and a great deal of "motobloat" including all the social networking stuff etc etc. I have left the stuff i like in there, for example I like the blue dialler/contacts/email app.
I have put this out as a blank canvas, It has launcherpro as the default launcher, because it is my favourite launcher, you can remove this and the blur launcher is still there if you want it, when you boot the homescreens will be blank ready for your own customisations.
It also contains the follow essential apps installed to system/app:
Titanium Backup
Tenfars Defy Recovery
Milestone Overclock
This are truely great apps and suggest you donate to the authors if you think so too!
This is overclocked as standard to my preferred cpu scaling mhz/vsel using My Set Scaling script . The reason for this is that at the moment setvsel is force closing on me.
Scaling is as follows:
900/46
600/36
300/26
Download the file here:
Higgsys_Modded_2.2CN
So installing:
Extract the Higgsy_Modded_2.2CN folder from the zip file you downloaded. Place on your SD card in the goapkrev/backup/ folder (along with your previous backups)
From 2.21/2.34 Eclair based ROMsm + 2.2 Chinese Froyo PROVIDING YOU NEVER FLASHED 2.51 ECLAIR:NEW Process 19/01/10
I have spent the most of today trying to trackdown this Flash bug and while can't pin it down (like looking for a needle in a haystack.) I have found a method that works to get it back for me. Its seems it is all in the method... Now as is says in the title I don't think this will work for people that have been on 2.51 Eclair ROM in the past, try the other method.
1)power phone down
2)press Power +vol Down, then when the warning triangle comes up press bottom right of the screen to get into stock recovery.
3)clear data/cache
4)Select the reboot option in recovery while holding vol up, to get into bootloader
5)Flash the 2.34 No Blur Eclair .sbf Get 2.34 Here Guide Here
6)Once flashed, root via z4root and install clockworkmod
7)boot into clockwork mod and install Higgsy_Modded_2.2CNGet 2.2 Chinese .sbf here
8)Once installed reboot now - it will fail and stick at the moto screen - pull the battery
9)Hold power+vol up to get back into bootloader
10) flash the 2.2 Chinese .sbf Get 2.2 Chinese .sbf here Guide Here
11)Once Flashed reboot
12)Once rebooted root using the superoneclick method then reboot
13)install recovery then reboot
14)Go into backup/restore and choose advanced, then choose the Higgsy_Modded_2.2CN folder, then choose to install the system only.
15)once completed reboot
16) test Camera.
Coming from 2.51 Eclair ROM:
I really don't know but it seems 2.51 breaks things such as the camera/flash. It's going to be hard to support people coming from this, as I never had the rom and I'm not going to install it due to all the issues it causes. EDIT: Morphin kindly posted the method that he used:
1) Clear data/cache with normal recovery
2) restore original 2.51 sbf from motorola
3) root with superoneclickFor2.1
4) install nandroid recovery
5) clear data/cache with nandroid recovery
6) install Higgsy backup with nandroid recovery
7) install Flash light fix alternative
8) wipe darvick-cache and permission fix
9) remove battery, boot into bootloader
10) install boot_only sbf
11) shutdown, reboot into bootloader
12) install camera fix sbf
13) optinal install Ginger Theme http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10729253&postcount=489
14) install itfundbaseband.apk
15) reboot
Thanks go to:
Sorensiim for the hosting

The Vendors of the few apps already mentioned above
I can confirm that everything works for me including camera/flash/compass. Please follow the steps I have given for install, if you are having a problem after or with install, I need to know exactly the process you've followed to install.
UK Users (Possibly other countries?) if you want to get rid of the hyphen's in the dialler e.g. 555-555-555-555 install "Morelocale 2" from the market (free). Set custom locale to UK and gets rid of it.
Most of all enjoy and I hope that some of you guys will make use of this!

Apps I think are well worth installing - some paid some not (I'm not affiliated to the vendors in anyway, but they are my favourites:
Widgetsoid 2(Free)
Launcherpro Plus (Paid) - Upgrade Launcher Pro for widget etc
Widget Locker (Paid) - best locker app
Titanium Backup Pro (Paid)- The paid version is excellent and saves alot of time
Beautiful Widgets (Paid) Nice Clock/Weather Widget.

All files are as per the Chinese ROM, I haven't hacked in any other apps. The contacts app does have the 3 screens, however the third (status updates) will never show anything as the apps that feed it have been removed, it will always say "no recent status updates".

Yeah it was a good victory for sure my mate! Was buzzing about that!
Now 2.51 is a bit of a grey area - I never flashed it you see. Due to the fact you can't flash the .sbf. I think it may possible as per other methods by restoring the back up then flashing the 2.2 boot only. I'll have a looks around tomorrow and see if I add the method. Really I can only guarantee this fully working by people flashing the Chinese 2.2 sbf first. It seemed people flashing that 2.51 introduced bugs.
Good work Higgsy. Thanks again. Please get down to porting 2.3 now

have you flashed 2.51 in the past as that breaks things. If not and you went from 2.21/2.34 flashed the 2.2 chinese .sbf, and you follow my guidelines on how to flash e.g. wiping, then I see no reason why it wouldn't as it works on mine.

very nice job you've done higgsy.. one question before I jump to this rom, I'm currently using 2.34 no blur rom..
if the 2.51 rom is not downgradeable.. would this 2.2 chinesse rom can be downgradeable to the 2.34 again? just in case...

One of the biggest points about 2.2 was the update of the Dalvik compiler. Froyo always has JIT enabled.

Notes:
IMPORTANT: Although all of my scripts check for and handle appropriatly a2sd and other apps2sd utilities it is highly recomended that you move your apps back to the /data/app folder and remove or disable any a2sd utilities prior to flashing this ROM, once flashed you can reset all of your a2sd settings accordingly. It is also recomend that you leave your cache and dalvik cache alone as moving these can cause backup and restore to fail if there is insuffiecient space.
Enjoy, this is fast stable and very clean, I have even included some of my favorite backgrounds which can be found under "Menu - More - Wallpaper". And as always I am the only DEV (To my knowledge) that includes an antivirus app in my ROM and handles backups and restores of all user level apps (/data/app and /data/app-private) during the flash sequence. No matter what style or flavor of rom you currently have there is no need to wipe, my updater-script handles everything for you. I do still recomend a full nand backup first just for safety sake.
Thanks:
evanbigfan - for pointing out a flaw in my scripts
J074 - for all the testing (and the humor) LOL
existz - for the kernel
google - for android
cyanogenmod - for the stable base
and all of the devs that provided help with the backup and restore issues.

without restoring the apps from titanium backup did all your other apps work as expected? when you are restoring your apps from TB are you choosing data as well? if your previous ROM was a sense rom this could be the cause of the problem. try restoring without data and then setup the apps again from scratch. let me know if that helps.
Looking good.

Previous rom was Ninja (aosp) .
It auto installed all but 6 previously installed apps...I tried twice today.
I think my problem lies with a auto update of superuser. It auto updated twice...I skipped all setup accounts until dead last in case something was triggering it...no dice, it still did it. Tried clearing data on superuser, but it was greyed-out because there wasn't any data as of yet.
Also, I always restore apps...never data.
I dunno what I'm doing wrong...never had an issue like this.
Maybe superuser updating?
Edit: forgot to mention that on the second time round....I also tried to use the market to re-install my missing apps...and the same thing happened (phone restarts)
I'm gonna try it again and reinstall nothing & I'll report back

AHA!! A brand-new ROM - lots of questions!!
As a confirmed "flash-junkie" on my older Aria, I now have a 2-month old Inspire, and have already tried SO MANY ROMS I have lost count I really need to stop having it "out of commission" all the time because I'm trying something new!!! So -- I am looking for a Gingerbread ROM - definitely "no-sense" or very minimal Sense! (I use 3rd party apps for almost everything that Sense does and it takes so much space and time to load and run it all, or to delete so much every time I update a Sense ROM...
I have tons!!! of apps, and have been using CM7 nightlies - hoping for just the "right one" but I have not been completely satisfied for one reason or another... (Wi-Fi, GPS, ADW launcher so slow, lack of A2sd/EXT4 support, etc...)
What I want: I want to keep my most-used apps "internal" to load faster, and most of my "other" stuff, such as games, "testing" apps, reference library apps, etc. on a separate partition. I would prefer S2E/Link2SD type EXT-4 for the speed and "wipability..." I have used the S2E app, but don't like to move everything, I have tried Link2SD without much success, so I have been pretty much using standard A2SD, which is a pain...
So... what options does your ROM have for something like that? And... what setup do you recommend prior to flashing?? (i.e. pre-set EXT4 secondary partition?)
And... Is data/GPS/Wi-Fi etc. pretty stable without all the "fixes" to apply each update? I'm getting tired of editing build.prop, gps.conf, kernel flashing, etc. on this phone - I'd like to leave all that to my old phone and have my Inspire nice and set for pretty much my daily user -- if an OCD flash junkie can actually do that, anyhow - he he he
OK - I realize this was a very long post, but if you don't think your new ROM is my best choice, I'm open to other ideas from anyone!!!
Thanks!

I'm trying to remember what ver of SU is in the ROM i think it should be 3.0.2 (it was current as of the time i built the rom) I'm not convinced that that could be the issue. I dont use titanium backup as i just start from scratch, i dont much care about data just the apps so i havent tested anything with titanium backup. I'm curious what 6 apps don't install? is it the same 6 everytime? anything special about them? was your previous ROM an EXT3 or EXT4 ROM? are you using any apps2sd utils or have your sdcard partitioned? again thats one i don't use so havent tested for. (sorry if i tested for every possible scenario I'd never get anything done).
I'll try TB tonight and see what happens.

Well I'm probably the worst Flash junkie around I frequently run with broken ROMS just trying to test and build. since I only have one phone that becomes a real pain at times.
so to try to answer your questions. I don't use any apps2sd utils nor do i partion my sdcard nor move any apps to the sdcard and with this rom having on average around 400mb free I havent had much of a need to do so. that being said it does support extended partitions on the sdcard (up to 512mb) you can use any of the third party apps2sd utils just fine as well.
Data/GPS/WiFi including WiFi hotspot and tethering all work flawlessly in my opinion. stability has always been one of my biggest concerns that's why I started building ROMs so I could be the one in control of any stability issues that arose. there should be absolutly no need to edit the build.prop for anything that I'm aware of it is tweaked to provide the best results for the ROM.
Recomendations for prior to flashing. NAND NAND NAND Backups are your friend...
My updater-script is unique in that I am to my knowledge the only one who handles app backups and restores as well as cleanup and wiping through the script so in all reality you can download my ROM make a backup of your current ROM and then Flash mine with no concern of what style of ROM you came from.
I hope that helps answer some of your questions. in regards to whether or not i think this is the right one for you? that is a determination that only you can make. personally this has been my daily driver for nearly a week without issues and im not one for AOSP roms per say..
anyone having this problem?
when i try to install apps i have purchased, i try to install them after i downloaded them but when it trys to install my phone fast reboots, ig u could say lol, is this happening to anyone else.. cause i cant install any apps on my phone
Tried again ....this time I did not try to reinstall any apps via TIB...used market. Data shut off and phone rebooted with ANY app from the market.
It would download BUT then reboot before it finished installing.
Even tried apps at random...lol
Just to be sure it wasn't particular apps.
Tried clearing market data and also reformatted SD card ext4.
Lead me in the right direction if you can ...I'd really like to get this one running. I'm sure you put alot of time in on it & I think its gonna be a good one.

i have yyet to have any issues installing apps from the market yet others have had reboot issues when trying to restore from titanium backup. im not sure why this happens.
what rom did you come from? was it ext3 or ext4? sense or AOSP? and what apps are you trying to install, directly from market or from apk's downloaded to your sdcard? if previously downloaded can you adb them to your data/app folder?
both, and a miui rom the the one previous to the latest

Ok I tried titanium backup and I can restore apps and data just fine no rebooted or errors so I went and flashed back to a sense rom setup my apps and did a backup from TB then flashed ranger and did a restore from TB. No reboots no fc's so I'm stumped as to what is happening. Ill continue to look into this

I'm going to give it a go and see how it pan's out.
Probably just my lousy nets, but is the download link dead?
