Hey guys,
I dont know if you saw my previous post a few days ago asking if anyone could creat a vinyl record as a clock
well a kind member over at droidforums did this for me and packaged it up in a .zip file except he thought it was for a d1. Now when i install the .zip it says it installed fine but the analog clock is not changed. I tried just installing the .apk and it said it could not install
would anyone mind taken a look at the attached .zip file and seeing if they can find out why its not workin with the X??
Thank you

Hey everyone...I wanted to share something I came across (I did not do ANY of the work...I simply found this in another forum and didn't see it here so I wanted to post it to XDA). For any of you who like the cool news and weather widget from N1's 2.1 build...some smart people ported it over to 1.5, and it works (I tested it out on my CDMA hero). They uploaded it as a .RAR file (as opposed to a .zip), but just download winzip's free trial version and extract using that. Here's the link!
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DYWP2DON
Just extract the apk file from RAR, put it on your hard drive and navigate to it with some kind of file explorer (Astro file manager, etc) and click on the apk file. Your phone will ask you if you want to install it. Once installed add it like any other widget (it will be under Android Widgets).
Edit: Some people on the other forum are experiencing force closes upon reboot. I rebooted to check and did not have any problems. I hope all works for you as well.
Sweet, will try it out!
Nice find! It works perfectly. Thanks
Could someone please rehost this elsewhere? I'm having problems with megaupload lately.
are you guys updating through recovery or pushing it through adk
works great
This works great tell them great job and thanks for bringing this to xda
can someone post a screenie of the reader and does it have a widget?
so far this works great for me!
+1 request for a screenshot.
I can extract a RAR file, but are you guys putting it back in a ZIP and flashing it through recovery or ADB push into what directory?
How exactly are you getting the widget onto your phones?

I'd like to know this as well.
I downloaded it, Un-Rar'd it and used HTC sync App Installer and it works beautifully. No need to re-zip it. It is in APK format.
Inside the RAR file is the .apk. Extract it, put it on your SD card and use a File Manager to install it. As far as screenshots, if you've ever used the 2.1 ROM, its the same widget.

sweet thanks for that info thats what I was hoping for. love the reader widget been waiting for it to get ported.
It looks like you just extract the apk from the rar and then install it. I'm making a BART backup first before I try to install it (I needed to backup anyway).
I'll post back with a screenshot unless someone beats me to it.
dang not the one that I was looking for I really would like to see the RSS reader from the 2.1 build ported I really like that one over any of the ones available on the market.
Screen shots:
Weather
News
Thanks for this. Works great on AOSP 1.6
Installed, tried all the configs, uninstalled. Not as cool as I was expecting it to be. The HTC weather widget is better. This one is quite bland. I'd rather install a separate news ticker app.

I posted screen shots to the original post.
Seems kind of laggy.
Can Someone please help me, i always support developers by purchasing apps, please help so i dont have to refund the app.
How long should it take to apply the frameworkres.apk??? its been appling for about 15mins now.
i tried a different theme, and metamorph didnt pick up the .thm file so i converted it, while installing it got to part 3 of 4 and restarted and now looks on different. Any ideas?
Ive tried 3 different themes still cant get the black status bar
if you have the newest metamorph, make sure you have a new style morph aswell, the old ones wont work with new metamorph unless the themer updated their morph

thanks for you help both of you, the zip files has no xml file in it, but its the latest got it from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=637245
the kustom one. It contains no xml file at all, and the one i created from the .thm doesnt work.
I have the latest metamorph from andriod market v 1.9.8.3
EDIT: metamorph never asked me about busybox is this only need for older versions of metamorph?
anyone ?
Try THIS, credit goes to its creator (Danation @ ModMyMoto) All you have to do is put the .thm file in the same folder as this, then run the program. It makes an .xml file that you can put back in the Morph zip file, then you should be good to go. If it tells you it already has a valid xml file, tell it to make one anyways.
PS- follow the link, the version i uploaded is not the newest one

Hi thanks for your help i appreciated it! I already tried to create the xml file using that program, but when i try to apply it only applies some parts of the theme not the black bar. Ive got chrome icon and messaging icons but no black bar. Any ideas?
Ive tried so many different morphs that are meant ot change my status bar to black but still none that work, it seems to just change the clock font to white, so i can hardly see it. This is really frustrating, i think i better refund metamorph before its too late.
is morph of kspec working for others? Are they using their own made .xml file? is it making their topbar black?
What am i doing wrong? Do i need this busybox?
awesome forum!
I'm trying to use this and for the life of me no matter what I do it always puts out an error when trying to create the zip file. Any suggestions or ideas? I thought I tried uploading the right files and settings but I've done it four times now and to no avail.

You will probably get flamed for not posting this in Themes and Apps or some other section as this is not development.
I used UOT today and had no issues for Infused v2.0.
I apologize. Perhaps you can PM me exactly what you are selecting when on the file upload page. I've tried every combination it seems. Maybe my files do not like some of the mods I have made, I don't know.
Move this thread if need be, don't want to piss anyone off.
The developers are very sensitive to posting things in that section that aren't development related. I found that out the hard way myself!
Anyway, all I wanted was a circle battery mod so I selected the one I wanted on the battery mod tab, clicked preview to see what it looked like then went to the tab to upload the 2 system files for gingerbread from my phone (framework-res.apk and systemui.apk). Submitted that and that was all I did. Didn't select anything else.
Thanks man. Yea I finally figured it out.... I was uploading files that were read only because I did not change the mount when I copied them from root explorer to sd card to my phone.
Sent from my rooted infuse flashed with infused!
Hi, I'm having trouble making a MIUI theme- it never applies.
What I did, essentially, was download a theme (Vexillum), and then open the icons file with WinRar, change the icons, zip it back up, remove the .rar extension, then zip the whole thing, and change .rar to .mtz
For some reason, my icons wont work.
Please, please, please help.
I'm running MIUI beta Android 4.0.3 on Droid X2
RE: [Q] Theming MIUI
From looking at a guide I found I think you should be renaming a zip and not a rar file. The mtz extension reinforces that thought, I think it's definitely supposed to be a zip and not a rar that gets renamed.
I can't post links, but try this: forums.miui (dot) us/showthread.php?51-GUIDE-How-to-theme-MIUI-the-easy-way!-9-guide-now-up!!!-Questions-Ask!
Let me know if that works out.

That didn't work.
The theme, when applied, just replaced the icons with their stock icons, instead of the ones I had
Guys,
I really need your help here!!
I beginning to try to create status bar themes for sense 3.6 ROMs on 3.33 base but am getting a bit stuck.
I've pulled all the .pngs I want to edit from SystemUI.apk (decomplied with Multi APK Tool), edited them using photoshop and saved them (Keeping the filenames the same) then recompiled to get the new APK (ensuring it is still named SystemUI.apk).
I don't know how to create flashable zips so have used root explorer to replace the original SystemUI.apk file with my new one and set permissions to rw-r--r-- and rebooted but nothing changes.
I don't know if I need to edit more than these image files (like stuff in framework.res.apk) or if there's anything else apart from image editing I need to do. Can anyone please guide me on this?
Once I can do this, I would love to be able to create flashable zips, to flash new themes and I have found odd bits of info here and there online about how to create them, but I am still unsure about this, so if anyone can help me with that as well, it would be great.
Can anyone please help/guide me here?]
Thank you :fingers-crossed:
