Metamorph for noobs!

Can Someone please help me, i always support developers by purchasing apps, please help so i dont have to refund the app.
How long should it take to apply the frameworkres.apk??? its been appling for about 15mins now.

i tried a different theme, and metamorph didnt pick up the .thm file so i converted it, while installing it got to part 3 of 4 and restarted and now looks on different. Any ideas?
Ive tried 3 different themes still cant get the black status bar

if you have the newest metamorph, make sure you have a new style morph aswell, the old ones wont work with new metamorph unless the themer updated their morph

thanks for you help both of you, the zip files has no xml file in it, but its the latest got it from here

the kustom one. It contains no xml file at all, and the one i created from the .thm doesnt work.
I have the latest metamorph from andriod market v 1.9.8.3
EDIT: metamorph never asked me about busybox is this only need for older versions of metamorph?

Try THIS, credit goes to its creator (Danation @ ModMyMoto) All you have to do is put the .thm file in the same folder as this, then run the program. It makes an .xml file that you can put back in the Morph zip file, then you should be good to go. If it tells you it already has a valid xml file, tell it to make one anyways.
PS- follow the link, the version i uploaded is not the newest one

Hi thanks for your help i appreciated it! I already tried to create the xml file using that program, but when i try to apply it only applies some parts of the theme not the black bar. Ive got chrome icon and messaging icons but no black bar. Any ideas?
Ive tried so many different morphs that are meant ot change my status bar to black but still none that work, it seems to just change the clock font to white, so i can hardly see it. This is really frustrating, i think i better refund metamorph before its too late.

is morph of kspec working for others? Are they using their own made .xml file? is it making their topbar black?
What am i doing wrong? Do i need this busybox?

Any Metamorph Themes Compatible with CM 5.08?

I'm currently running Cyanogen 5.08 on my N1 and decided to try the Metamorph application. I was having trouble finding any themes that said they were 5.08 compatible so I decided to try one that was listed as 5.06 compatible but after rebooting I kept getting force close messages so obviously something went wrong.
I'm new to Metamorph and just followed the intructions of unziping and then installing the theme.
I'm really interested in the Kspec theme but interested in any that might work on 5.08. Do I need to install them a different way because I am using CM? Thanks for any help on this.

For CM 5.0.8 or 5.0.7 just remove any xml's from the theme before you apply it. Since these 2 versions of CM have the abilities to change notification/status bar text colors you don't need those xml's. At least you could do this until the particular themer updates their theme.
Just remove all xml's and leave *only* the images.

If I delete all xml files how do I install the theme? Don't I need to select the main xml file to select within the Metamorph application when it asks me which theme to install?
Does this mean just delete the xml files embedded in the different folders?

No, deleting the xml is definetely false.
Delete the services folder in the theme and the folder /framework-res/res/layout folder.
In Cyanogen 5.0.8 you can change the text colour in spare parts.
Or you will have a look in my themes. They all work with this rom, too.

you know? I'm still on cm5.0.6 for GlassBar but now I can move to cm5.0.8
before I tried to change clock and date color but I have to use windows OS to
do that Bcuz I dont find xml editor on linux

Ok I tried using glass bar but I'm still having problems. Its begins to install but when it gets to "Applying framework-res.apk theme 7 of 7" it just stays there indefinitely. My phone doesn't freeze or anything or ask me to force close the app so I'm confused.
Could it be that I'm running a custom kernal along with CM 5.08?

just wait tel restart the UI and will apply , if you not got full glass just re-apply
only the last one "framework-res.apk"

Yes, right. It should work.
Play a bit with the applying speed in metamorphs settings.
Or look at the first post. I've added some helping manual with problems at metamorphing in my theme threads.

When we get something without sense, for sure

how do you get the fonts to work? pushed them no problem.. framework worked fine

did you get an error message? doing it in recovery right? make sure folder is extracted

yep, all the font files pushed no problem, when i rebooted nothing changed w/ fonts
i'll re push, push in recovery w/ /system mounted i'm assuming

Love the font but I wish everything was red. The mix of red and green looks a bit strange.

I'm too lazy to edit the htc resources apk... .9 pngs are no fun, and with no /system write access, its a pita to test themes. I need my phone right now and seeing as how vzw is a cdma carrier, its a pain to switch phones. Believe me, the green bothers me just as much as it bothers you guys... but I'm just gonna wait it out till koush ports cm to our phones. Having the source for .9 pngs makes things a lot easier for theming, and I don't want to waste any time.

completely understandable.. you do know i will need you to help me get the lamppu widget to go red and SwitchPro widget too or else I may go mad with disorder lol

You should try ExtendedControls instead of switch pro... transparency as well as different color schemes

2 questions:
1) If I load just the framework file, will the stock Droid fonts stay in use? (would prefer those over your modded version)
2) Any chance you'd consider doing a blue version? I think the blue mixed with the un-editable sense green would go a little better than the red.

problem replacing specifc icon (status bar)

I can't seem to replace an icon in my framework-res.apk and I'm wondering if it's possible to create a flashable .zip file that'll overwrite the icon I want replaced in the file.
Attached is the alarm clock icon (with the proper file name) which I extracted from the Droid 2 framework-res.apk.
I want to replace the CM6 icon I'm using now w/ the Droid 2 icon I'm attaching.
I copy my apk to my computer, unzip it, replace 'stat_notify_alarm.png', zip it back up, rename to apk, use the 'Android-sign' droplet app (I'm on a Mac), push back to the system/framework folder, reboot, nothing... old icon still there.
1. Can someone tell what steps I'm missing?
2. Can someone create a flashable .zip that'll overwrite the icon?

Use LauncherPro.......you can hide the text in preferences.

i'd like to know too.

As for creating a flashable zip, make your changes and then delete the 2 cert files and the manifest file inside the meta inf folder then sign it. You can use Avabox or the tool regaw just made.

*Note* my APK has a modded battery icon (don't know if that matters to you or not but better safe than sorry )

[Lockscreen] Honeycomb Shaped Lock

Here are the files to add to your framework-res.apk if you have a rooted rom. All you have to do is copy your framework-res.apk from the system and open it up in an apk editor then find the lockscreen files and replace them with these. Works really well. If I could get a screenshot of my lockscreen I would show you but I dont know how to do that.

I had inverted the colors on mine... but the VR theme template didn't want to work for me and I got too lazy to modify the framework and re-flash it.
Question, were you able to edit the actual lock icon?
Because when I open it in Photoshop CS3 the transparency is messed up.
Also, if you have the Android SDK installed on your computer you can use it to take screen shots (even of the lockscreen), but I think a video is better for this.

I was able to open it... but it wasn't being displayed correctly.

Zip file but it is not flashable. It is just a zip file of 3 images.

just to say i might be getting a transformer tomorrow and also i used to do lots of themeing so i can tell you that the images are indexed so you need paint.net to open and save then open the new saved file in photoshop and edit.

these will be included in the metrocomb theme

I can upload the PSD for anyone who would like to tweak this. Honestly I just did this for myself and thought I would share it.

Looks awesome! Is there any chance it could be made as a flashable zip? I wouldn't want to change framework Res then find I have to do it again when Rom is updated..

You can save a copy of the one you modified, if no major changed in the framework, just push it again.
Actually you don't even need a apk editor. you can just rename the .apk to .zip, unzip it, do your thing, zip it back up and rename .zip to .apk.

Will Android install altered/unsigned .apk files? I'm not sure the unzip/alter/zip to apk method will work.

I used zipthemer from market to apply these and it worked fine. It makes an undo zip for you as well as creates a flashable zip for you to flash. I have attached flashable zip file for prime 1.9.1 rom as well as ziptheme zip file for whoever wants to use that. 152kb one is the zipthemer file. As usual make backups etc just in case.
