Saw it before
Unmount your SD card before downloading it from the market. You can then re-mount your SD card once the game is installed. Not sure why it does this, but seems to work.

I had the same problem. I forgot where I found this but unmount your SD card (from settings) and then give it a try. This worked for me. Once the install is complete re-mount your SD card. I have to do this for all updates as well. I hope that this helps.

+1... do exactly what he said
The issue was that the game is attempting to auto-install to SD card but fails.
Trying that now, will let you know. Thanks for the help.

If you look at the OP for the Weapon rom it will tell you how to fix:
6. If you get insufficient space where when downloading from the market there are a few things you can do which have been reported to solve the problem.
~ Clear market cache
~ Boot into clockwork recovery and wipe cache and dalvik-cache
~ Boot into clockwork recovery and format /data
That is pasted from there and it worked for me.
ok people,
I use a samsung galaxy mini with stock gingerbread 2.3.4 rom. I have link2sd installed on my phone and device is rooted. Recently i've been getting, "error while downloading because there is insufficient space" .. I have well above 120 mb in internal memory and the whole 4 gig memory card is free. I am not able to tick auto-link to sd on link2sd , because that option is unavailable. Also i tried to partition my sd card using minitool but i think im getting it wrong.
please help me.
1. Open "Root Explorer"
2. Mount as r/w
3. Go to cache/download/ and delete everything in that folder.
This should fix your problem.
Ok i mounted as r/w and in cache folder i only found two folders lost+found and some recovery related file and there was nothing related to download.

This looks like a bug with the new android market. The new market is so silly and idiotic. First of all there are always connectivity issues in it besides insufficient memory issue now. I downgraded my market and it work flawlessly. But sadly this is short lived as it updates itself.

I am, on my Archos 101IT Gen8...
It's killing me! Market v 3.0.26 (or 3.0.16, can't remember)... Almost all my apps need to be updated, and when I do this BLAM! 'Unable to install on SD or external storage'!
But I tried Jelly defense off Thepiratebay.org and it's the same problem... I install it, the bar moves a little and then '!Didn't install' WHY is that happening?
Even with PES 2012, but why?

This helped me to install Jelly Defense on SGS
Over the past few days, I've been unable to install new apps or update existing ones from the Android Market or the Amazon App Store on my Samsung Infuse with a 32 GB MicroSD Card.
In the Android Market, it will usually say there is insufficient space to install or it will perpetually sit at "downloading" In the Amazon App Store, it will download the app but it will perpetually sit on INSTALLING and never complete.
I've done several reboots, sever cache clears, battery pulls, unmounting of the SD card and even booted without SD card and then back again. I've seen other fixes like moving apps off the SD card and back on and that is too troublesome.
Could it be the recent updates to the Android Market? If so, why would it affect the Amazon Appstore?
I removed the updates from the Market...same problem with both markets...so I tried a regular APK file..gets stuck with INSTALLING.
More than frustrating now...
What rom are you guys running?

Clear Data on both apps
I've done that...I am starting to wonder if the data on the external SD is getting corrupt.
I just yanked my 32 GB card and tried a few installs on internal card and it works like a charm. Any suggestions on how to prevent memory card corruption? I didn't seem to have this problem on my Captivate with a 16GB microSD.
Thanks to everyone for the suggestions...I believe it may be the 32GB MicroSD card as this is the third time this occurred and my wife's phone with a 16 doesn't seem to have this issue. I went back to a 16GB card and everything installs...for now...except for a larger program which says I have insufficient space to install.
While installing game I get an error "An sd card with at least 407 mb free is required in order to download the new content", am a noob at this. Running ICS.

Only solution i can think of is clearing up some space from a file manager. You can view your storage remaining from the sdcard in the settings (im not currently running ics) once you have about 1gb free, try again. If none succeeds, out of my knowledge...

It's a known issue worth the ics ROM. The as card isn't being mounted properly. As of now, i'm pretty sure there is no fix.
