So Far,
My preference about screen protector has always been "BestSkinsEver". Used for my PMP Cowon A2, Iphone 3Gs as well. It's so clear once you want to remove it from the device. No left dust or something.

Of course no spesific skin for Desire HD but you can order DIY size which means you can shape it whatever you need. At least that's what I do Advise you to check it out.

The cracked screen wouldn't have been saved by a screen protector, the phone was dropped from a height by accident onto a concrete floor. If the phone had landed differently it would have been fine.
I've never put a screen protector on my Hero and it looks brand new. Just don't put the phone in your pocket with change or keys or anything.

Just to let you guys know, a screen protector is ESSENTIAL.
I already apparently seem to have some sort of graze on the screen - barely noticable - but I've had it for 24 hours...
Definately not a scratchproof screen by any means.

Nightmare be keeping an eye on my screen i've not had anything on my HD2 for nearly a year and its totally scratch free i just used the leather pouch that came with the phone which fits my Desire nicely also

Anyone know where to get a zagg for the DHD?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App

I just ordered a Brando Anti Glare from Brando.com. Was $12 (£7.60?) including shipping to the UK, so not a bad price...

Got my HTC screen protectors today. Very basic item. Ruined the first with dust but second has gone on ok. Seems to reduce screen accuracy a bit, but is very clear and feels quite tough.
Will replace with an invisibleshield when they finally appear.

I have my full body protection ready to install from Dev Def. Never heard of them before and so hoping theres no orange peel effect, loss of sensitvity and that it fits well etc. Will provide a review (with pictures, but not high quality sadly as will be from my G1) as soon as i receive it later this week!

Zagg already have the EVO 4G protection, we cannot use those? i think that are small diferences...

Great. Brando Workshop screen protectors are out for the desire HD.
I have used them for my last 5 last HTC phones and have always been of great quality and lasted me for a year at least.
You can find them here : http://shop.brando.com/index.php under What's new.
I have always used the UltraClear ones with great results.

i have really weird issue with the phone, i try and try 6 sets of genesis thc Screen Protectors, and they all the same
issue - i get 2 bubble on the left, and its un removable, that is NOT my issue i try and make dozens of screen Protectors,
and the HTC SP430 is great prodact, same size as the phone.
i think and sure its the phone, and it will go with the time, dono its like not flat phone (lol)?

Already have a (little) scratch on my screen. After 4 days.
And while I tried to be really carefull, because I was waiting for my sleeve and protector.
Well, worse things can happen. But I think it is a must have.

You might have tiny specs of dirt/grit at those two points, really hard to get out right at the edge?

WEIRD! I have exactly the same 2 bubbles in mine! Must be a design flaw. Almost as if those 2 points reject the protector. Oddness

[Q] I need to order a new screen protector for my HTC Desire

Mod edit: This post looks like spam, but I won't remove the thread as it has useful discussion in it.
It could die. But seriously... screen protectors? Why bother wasting your money? To be honest, you might need it if you have say keys in your pocket, but who's stupid enough? I don't know but screen protectors are a waste of time and money.

To be fair, I use screen protectors. Just to be on the safe side, and they are non-obtrusive. And a waste of money? I have to disagree with that. I got 6 screen protectors off eBay for 99p UK seller- UV protection, anti-grease, anti-dust, anti-scratch. They last for about 3 months.
I think if you want to be safe, get a screen protector. They might protect your screen from damage one day, and for pennies its a worthy investment.
I disagree with Screen Protectors being a waste of money. My phone was in mint condition until I bent over and my phone slipped out my pocket.
It landed face down, on stones. I now have a scratch going right across my screen.
You get really cheap ones. But don't waste your time with those. You won't be able to see very well through them.
Go with Martin Fields protectors. Way more expensive, but worth it. I have one now.
I've used a Martin Fields one since day they were released and, combined with my HTC pull cord case, I've not got a mark on my handset. Small outlay for piece of mind IMO
I got some of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/FoneM8-Desi...UKGK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1305831209&sr=8-1
Crystal clear, cheap as chips and doesn't interfere with the phone in any way.

exactly the same as me since i bought my desire. perfect combination and my desire still looks like new.
I'm using Martin Fields atm. I like the fact that it comes with camera protector as well. On the other hand I find it more "scratchable" than Brando Crystal Clear I've been using before. After a year it's so scratched I gotta change it. I'll try either 3M Vikuti or Writeshield Crystal now - these are are said to be among the best.
I do recommend to buy a good screen protector and apply it properly - this is a really good guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1015394
You'll never notice it's there, it'll serve you a long time, you won't have to bother with several ****ty cheapos that require frequent changes and worsen the overall user experience (worse screen clarity, bubbles, don't fit to screen properly, don't stick on the edges, unpleasant in touch etc.).
This is my take on screen protectors.
I've been using a Zagg protector for the last 6 months. Excellent protection but find the screen isnt 100% responsive or smooth.
Tempted to try another but worried that it wont go on and fit as well as the zagg...
Has anyone experience with the original HTC-Ones (HTC SP P360)?

I have purchased an HTC Desire from Electronics a week ago. Their services were great and shipment response time was awesome. I am a frequent user of any cell phone. This is the reason why I need a new screen protector. I have also purchased an Iphone 4g unlocked from Electronics, but their protector is the best. HTC guys are bad in giving bad quality protectors and we have to buy protectors once each month. I just want to ask you guys one thing that what will happen to the mobile phone if rain water goes inside?

I had a Zagg and hated it. It distorted my screen and was not smooth to touch and drag on. I have the Vikuiti (3M) one mentioned in the "perfect application of a screen protector" thread and I couldn't be happier. I've had it on for more than a month. If I didn't know better I wouldn't even know it was there. It's VERY smooth and crystal clear so it doesn't interfere with the screen at all.
I just ordered a Brando anti glare one from there site, after watching some video's of it on youtube it looks very good.

[Q] Looking for Screen Protector Suggestions

I Have noticed form coming from a iPhone 3GS I noticed even at full brightness I can barley see the screen in the light and i never have it on full brightness to save battery So what im asking is are there any screen Protectors out there that anyone could suggest that would help me to see the screen better on sunny days
Well I've had multiple screen protectors, and none of them have even come close to being as good as the one i got from Vikuiti. I was told that Martin Fields (too grippy) made a high quality screen protector, but I was not impressed and found this one for my HD2 after rave reviews on the HD2 forum.
This screen protector is so good I have taken my old HD2 one and cut it down for the Desire Z until I get my specific Desire Z one. I have re-stuck it a few times, and it looks good as new, I hate it when you can tell the screen protector is on, but you cant with this.
The below link it not to the exact model I had on my HD2 (there is one called ADQC and one called DQC, I have the DQC at present, but might get the ADQC listed below because it suggests its more anti-glare)
http://www.protectionfilms24.com/article/vikuiti-screen-protector-adqc27-htc-desire-z-43109.html
I currently use an anti-glare screen protector that came free with my dcmugen case.
It is better than the glossy screen protector I had before. Plus, it doesn't attract fingerprints which sometimes obscures vision.

I will also vouch for the Vikuiti ADQC model. My order was shipped on June third and I received it today- June ninth.
As for the screen protector itself, I am extremely satisfied with it. This protector allows me to view the G2's screen as it is supposed to be seen: as though there is nothing on the screen at all. Side to side is nearly a perfect fit and top to bottom there is maybe a mm of space uncovered below the soft buttons (home, menu ...) At a glance, the only giveaway that there is a screen protector on the phone is the cutout for the light and proximity sensors.
They aren't cheap but I believe they are worth the cost.

I just noticed your post. Sorry it's taken me months to reply, although it has given me a MUCH larger sample size to form my opinion from. The screen protector is still great! It is really tough. Admittedly, I baby my phone a bit. That said, I finally got a scratch on the first screen protector (I ordered 3) about 2 Weeks ago. Other than that it is almost exactly as it was the first day I applied it. I've been meaning to apply the second one but don't need to. I would say it is definitely worth the extra cost as in the time I've had this one on I had gone through at least five other brands including the t mobile one & some I got from Amazon.

Screen Protector Woes

Hey guys, I just received a generic dry applied screen protector from Amazon and I'm having some problems with it. I have 2 more so if I need to reapply to try to fix these issues its not a problem.
1) The sides of the screen protector are lifted up and wont stay stuck down due to the infinity screen's curve at the end. Can I somehow make this dry screen protector stick? I'd like not having to buy a new wet applied one since they are around $10 (if you guys can find one for cheaper, please let me know!).
2) I just applied it and it made the screen kind of fuzzy. It has kind of like the look of when you put greasy hands on your device if you guys know what I mean. Will this go away when the adhesive dries? It has already been one day since I applied it.
Thank you!
Here's a question: How much did you pay for your 3 pack?
Honestly they sound pretty cheap if they can't even stick or if you can tell it's on your phone. You could return them as defective and get the SGP ones.
I had the same issue. I'm either doing the wet application or have a nekkid phone!

I bought ZAG from AT&T, they put it on for me and it was well worth it. She did a Fantastic job.
i hate matte screen protector ...
for a dry application i think the peel on the side of the edge is unavoidable when the glass is curved ...
i might have to go with a wet application this time even i really dont want to
for wet applications - xoskins ive tried them all , best one.
Dry - brando uk ultra clear - takes forever to get them shipped but they are awesome.

Just picked one up at radioshack. At first I was hesitant to let the girl there apply it for me, but she said she was somewhat of an expert and, after seeing the fantastic job she did, I agree! Soooo much better than what I've been able to do on past phones!

The ZAGG HD screen protectors aren't bad. I personally will be waiting for ghost armor to come out with their protectors (hopefully they will). If your in an area where their is a kiosk they do a professional install and if anything ever goes wrong with your screen protector they will install a new one for 5 bucks for life.

ZAGG Invisible Shield. Should I buy one?

Hey guys,
I am considering to buy a Zagg protection for my device.
I have three options.
I keen on the 1st one "Maximum Coverage".
I am asking from someone who use it to share with me his experience.
My questions are:
1. How easy is the installation?
2. Any bubbles after?
3. How about the sense of touch of the device? Is it too glossy?
4. Any serious dissadvantage that I haven't notice?
Thank you in advance for reading that.
maybe just me but have NEVER managed to fit a shield without bubbles.
allegedly phones fitted with gorilla glass, but that wont protect against keys etc in your pocket.
no noticable difference in screen sensetivity.
saying that i still use one to protect my resale value
I dont use them. But I have done that before. Remember to turn your phone of and let it cool down for a short while so it does not atract dust and you don't get buubles . And there is lots of videos in YouTube that shows how to do it right. I have had my dhd almost for a year whithout protection and don't have any scratch still. So even without it you should be fine.

My DHD is 22 months old (since Okt 2010). A month ago, my HTC wore a new chasis (bought it cheap from e-bay). I like the cold furbished metal finish that gives me. Thats the biggest reason I don't want to wear it a plastic Zagg.
From the other hand I am afraid of drops and scratches.
That's my dellima I am trying to anwser with this thread.
I had one on my iPhone when I had it and think they are brilliant!
Easy to fit without bubbles, go for it!!
Depends how much damage you expect is going to occur. I bought one of these at best buy. It does a full lifetime warranty. But its a pain. A week after buying it I had a huge scratch in it. I don't know how. But it shouldn't have scratched so easily. Applying it wasn't hard, but you do get bubbles and corners that wont stay down. What I find best that works is to buy a cheap protector for a tablet or iPad. You get about 5-10 screen protectors for the price of a single one. just cut to fit and apply. Make sure to get the ones with the spray, it cuts application time in half. Just don't use too much or you'll get water under the volume rocker and become bricked.

I put invisible shield on an iPod and a camera screen. In terms of protection, they do their job, but I would recommend against them for a touch-screen phone:
1) it is "sticky" to the touch, your finger doesn't glide across the screen
2) it picks up dirt and grease much more than a normal protector - and is difficult to clean/keep clean
3) it's "relatively" easy to apply, since you will wet it and then just place it on the screen, and iron out bubbles with a credit card or similar. HOWEVER, you will end up with an "orange peel" finish, which looks ugly and makes it difficult to view your screen.
Instead, get a good quality screen protector like Brandon (one that will cost approx €10), it will last longer without scratching than the cheap ebay ones, and as a result it will probably last the life of the phone.
i have invisible shild on my dhd ...it's nice because in the first week when i buy my phone, i scratch him a litle bit..so it protecting your glass and you don't get that fingers amprents like on regular screen :good:
I just bought one last week from Amazon and I am waiting for it to arrive.
Thank you all, so far, guys. I 'll stay with cheap screen protectors, and the leather case with the metallic stand.
Update.
The screen protector arrived a couple of weeks ago and I installed it right away. It was easy to install and I like the quality of the screen protector. I would recommend this screen protector to other owners. I plan on buying one for my Nexus 4.
I have install the invisible shield only on display without any bubbles. This was easy. Today, after two years, the shield have protect my DHD display very good.
I would buy the ZAGG products again.

Screen durability?

There is a YouTube video claiming to be some dude poking his hox with a steak knife. I have an XtremeGuard condom on my screen and it feel fine. I can't take good care of my stuff (e.g. Keys in same pocket as phone) so I am not taking chances.
Not that Reliable
I used my HOX without screen for more than a month but from no where came a couple of scratches. Not from Sand. May be from my keys. I have no idea and I still feel bad for not having had a screen protector. Now I have a screen protector but I can still see the rainbow effect when I see the scratch through the screen protector. Please get a good screen protector if you cannot be extra careful with your phone.
My wife's iPhone 4s has gorilla glass 1 and no screen protector and not a single scratch is yet to be seen. I was expecting Gorilla Glass 2 to be more scratch resistant but I am really disappointed.
It's the oleophobic coating that is getting scratched. I dont think this was perfected in gorilla glass 1 so they may not have included it.
I will never use a device without a screen protector. Gorilla glass or not, glass is glass and plastic is plastic; they all scratch. Even diamonds scratch so I personally won't take chances.
I have Ghost Armour installed on my devices and everything works just as good as naked. If you already have scratches, try GA anyways, they claim to be able to fill scratches.

my exact opinion, either that or u protect ur screen like a maniac so the next owner scratches it for u.. nice job keepin it safe for the next owne ;D i still use a protector cause i plan on keepin this one mint till the One X + comes out cuz i wanna get the most $ i can get out of it
Every phone I have had sinve the windows mobile days have had screen protectors and many cases and extended batteries.. I think I have wasted more money on that crap then phones. lol not to mention the countless hours rooting and flashing roms to the point where the wife thinks im crazy. anyway just got the X and so far its naked and stock.. I have told myself this time. im gonna use the phone as a phone and not worry bout the little things outside of a case etc. not gonna root it or use a screen protector.. guess after 9 years of buying crap and rooting etc.. I need a break. and the one x so far has been great all around.. and the screen rocks naked. feels so much better.. bah anyway rant over... back to work.. lol
I currently have a screen protector on my phone and I hate it. However, I was noticing micro scratches on my phone that also drive me crazy. Like others have said, it is in the coating on the glass but they are permanent. At least with a screen protector, I can swap it out every couple weeks.

You might only have experience with cheapo protectors. A good quality one (Skinomi and Bodyguardz are ones I've used) does not change the look of the screen at all. A quality protector is also difficult to scratch. I've had a Skinomi on an HTC Flyer for over a year, and had a Bodyguardz on my Desire Z for a year and a half, both with no prominent scratches, and protectors still looks close to new. Maybe some superficial scuffing visible in just the right light, but completely invisible when the screen is on. Good protectors also show fingerprints much less than the naked screen, so they actually end up looking better than no protector.
Some people on here have gotten some serious scratches on Gorilla Glass with normal use. Others have claimed no use even after significant abuse. Everyone's experience tends to be a little different.. But more than a few people have showed up on here with bad scratches, wishing they had used a protector. So that is the point of using them. And once you have a scratch on the screen, you can't undo it.
There is a slight difference in feel with a protector. For some that is a legit deal breaker, for others the difference is negligible. Using a protector or not is a very personal choice. I'm totally with you that phones are meant to be used. I don't baby my phones at all. Have never used a case. But I prefer to use a screen protector.
