I have problem with Sense 3.0 lockscreen. When I try to pull the ring to the center of the screen, the phone behaves as I would stop touching the screen for a quarter of second - in another words - I am moving my finger from the bottom of the screen to the center (dragging the ring), but the ring randomly goes back to the bottom and suddenly I am dragging the shortcut icon...
Anyone had this?

Same here, but it really is for 1/4 second so its not really that annoying.

For me it is annoying. I have to try to unlock the phone for several times because I can't manage to drag this ring to the center of the screen. I "lose" it earlier.
Have you been able to fix this problem? When I go to the lockscreen, it takes me several seconds before I can move one of the quick shortcuts into the ring. If I try to move it right when the screen pops up, I can't drag any of them.
Mine does this sometimes, although annoying, I found the only way around trying multiple times is to hold your finger on the ring for a second before pulling it to the center.

I don't have this issue. Ring works perfect

I have this same issue. Glad I'm not the only one. My touchscreen as a whole has started crapping out on me the last couple days. No longer registering fast swipes on the home screens... Can't get the carousel to come up at all anymore. I'm annoyed. It has to be Sense causing the problem. The EVO 3D must have a better optimized Sense version cuz that phone flies.

I have also noticed this, but only when my phone is lying down. If I tip it up, or pick it up it works great.
Regards.
Nothing is helping to relieve the issue for me. It's getting really bad..

This happened to my first Sensation so I returned it. My second one is fine and I have had it for 2 weeks so I think I'm in the clear since the first one started at 1 week.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
I'm on my second Sensation from T-Mobile and both have the same issue. After about a week the touch screen loses sensitivity in random spots while swiping. This is first noticeable on the lock screen, when dragging the ring up it will "jump" back down to the bottom of the screen and not unlock. After a while I begin to notice that it gets worse and worse. While using the keyboard, swype will finish words while I am still in the middle of them. The first phone got so bad that I could no longer drag the answer icon into the ring when a call came in. I factory reset the first phone to no avail and have just factory reset the second phone and it is still having the same problem.
I will be returning this phone to HTC and hopefully they can get me a working model. I love the phone but this and it's locked status really suck.
All,
I find myself accidently clicking the answer button when my phone rings while in my pants. The button which is pushed for answer call seems to be in the direct aera of touch when grabing the phone. Does anybody have any suggestions how I can make the answer call button less likely to accidently be pushed?
Thanks,
Lance

Lol, bt seriously tho, its in his pants so I'm assuming the phone is locked, @ OP, so u wanna tell me that the answer thing moves itself to the circle to answer tha calls? Well if that's the case maybe we can trade, I might b able to train it how to do some stuff like cook or sum

YOU set the button to answer calls, change it back or use a different button

I know what he is talking about. I do it all the time too. When grabbing the phone from his pocket he touches the front of the screen which in turn will move the answer button into the ring and answer the phone. A good solution would be to have the ring and the call/hang up buttons farther from the ring but I am not sure how that could be done.
It's not that hard to grab the phone by the sides while in my pocket. Maybe you guys are wearing skinny jeans? No problem here in slacks, regular or slim cut jeans.
A lockscreen activated by a combo keypress (vol up+down?) which locks the screen on whatever you're looking at including screen brightness and position, so you might hand your phone over to someone without accidently hitting back or having the screen shutoff whilst trying to show them a pic or what have you. I.E. a freeze frame. Then same keypress to unlock. Forgive me if this exists already, I didn't feel like searching kinda buzzed. Mostly want it for weapon, mostly.

Doesn't exist but for future reference, post things like this in the questions forum.
I have no idea what you're talking about? You just want a different combination to lock the phone other than the native lock button at the top of the phone?

I understand what you mean, but just set the screen timeout to a longer duration.

I think he wants quick access to this function though also he doesn't want the screen on all the time after he let's whoever borrow it. I think this would work better with toggles on screen more then anything

Freeze the phone screen on whatever is there not allowing screen timeout, screen position change, key or touchscreen presses (excluding activate and deactivate freeze frame). Basically freeze the phone in its current state until you resume.

Basically make it so the phone is unresponsive until the button combo is pressed again? It's out there, I'll look for it.
EDIT: I'm having a hard time finding it, but if I come across it, I'll post it.
Whenever I am trying to decline a call my One S accepts the call. I then have to press the end button.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
How do you try to decline it? It might be that you're doing it wrongly?
Are you dragging the red icon into the circle? I have not had an issue doing it this way. I will say that I tried to silence a call by pressing down on the volume, and it answered the call instead. That may be a setting somewhere though.
Hmm let me guess..are you dragging the ring up over the red call icon instead of dragging the red call icon DOWN into the ring?
It's ok..when I flashed a sense Rom on my HD2 a while back I kept pulling the ring up to launch shortcutsand couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work !
Ring up for regular unlock, icon down for action.

Only thanked because I find it funny that someone who would buy a One S, and be a member of XDA wouldn't know how to decline a call, even though the phone has tutorials lol

Alright I feel so dumb right now lol.
I had the Sensation before this and it seemed like pulling up the ring towards the red icon always declined it. So i got accustomed of declining calls that way.
Anyways yea pulling down the red icon works fine.
Sorry for the dumb mistake >_<
we wont tell if you wont

Always ran AOSP or CyanogenMod on my HD2, only had a short stint with a Sense rom (not a fan of pre-4.0 sense, too heavy!) and never go through tutorials, I like to figure things out for myself.
This lockscreen is annoying as crap... I'm sorry m venting, I hate the fact that I can't take my text messages off the lockscreen. Or in order to use dash clock I have to pull down.... Again just venting. But other than that, I love this phone

It doesn't get rid of it off the lock screen. Just doesn't tell me who it is, which is even more annoying
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
yea, i dont like the new ls either... i prefer the aosp one...
Use the message center lock screen widget. Its a single communication screen for all messages. Does that help?
Guys the problem is this - when you enable ""Preview Message" it enables it on the lockscreen, which is nice I guess, whatever. But, this also enables you to see who sent the message in the notification shade.
Now, when you turn it OFF it still shows it in the lockscreen AND the notification shade but doesn't tell you who it is.
The big issue with this is, if you have a lock-pattern or other security turned on WITH "Preview Message" turned on, then anyone can see the contents of the SMS on the lockscreen - BAD SECURITY. On AOSP, this did not behave in this manner. On AOSP you would receive the notification, but that's all I need to see "Hey I have an sms!" - I don't need to preview this if I have enabled security on my phone for the very reason of keeping prying eyes off my phone.
I've never liked the new lockscreen of jellybean...I find lockscreen widgets annoying and pointless...then again I never really liked widgets in the first place haha

I was JUST going to post about that. I have some nosy ass girls who look over at my huge screen whenever they hear a beep or a buzz and I REALLY can't believe they wouldn't include a seperate option to NOT see the message preview from the lock screen.
It's nice to be able to preview it WHEN you slide the notification bar yourself but I don't need prying eyes on my lock screen.

im running apex launcher pro and rooted but even when i enable all the options , i get no notifications on my lockscreen , does it work with apex or only tw ?
I hate this lock screen too! It's so frustrating because I have long fingers, and I very often hit the clock when trying to swipe which just "grabs" the clock instead of unlocking the phone..
I am completely missing the point of widgets on your lock screen. I don't want them at all and I want to turn them off, but that's not an option. Why?? I want the screen to unlock whether I swipe the clock or a blank part of the screen!
Opening messages directly from the lock screen now is also a chore. Who thought to themselves that sliding a puzzle piece across the screen (or dragging your finger across an icon) to look at a message was too hard, and then came up with the current implementation? Click the message, then swipe your finger in a very specific part of the screen. Because that's intuitive.
We can have many home pages that have all of the widgets and icons we want on them. Why do we need an extra layer of them on our lock screens? If the lock screen weren't cumbersome to use, then shortcuts on the lock screen wouldn't be necessary because they wouldn't be saving any time.
The way the lock screen works really irritates me, and I honestly thought about just keeping my GS III because of it (and a couple of other things that are OT).
As cheesy as the slider lock screen on the iPhone is, one thing I really like about it is the ability to open the camera app directly without having to input my (corporate IT mandated) PIN to use it. That extra second or two wasted putting in my PIN on the S4 could mean I might miss a neat shot. It needs some tweaking, for sure.

No....just no...I hope your joking there are already enough threads talking about lag (which I still haven't experienced on my s4)
But yeah...once we get some roms cooking I'm sure devs will give us some better lockscreens...and probably even port the s3 lockscreen over
