Okay please forgive me in advance for this post. I am not sure if I am posting it in the right place or not. I am new to this whole forum thing...other than reading them...great help by the way!
Anyways, I have the Samsung Galaxy S 4G. I rooted it earlier so I could remove annoying preinstalled apps. And I did the Fota fix. I am really interested in updating to Gingerbread, but I am confused regarding how. Is there anywhere on here that has step by step directions?? Are the leaks any good? Is there another rom that would be better? And if there is how do i go about putting the Rom on my phone.
Like I said, I know how to root, but my knowledge stops there. lol So sorry to be an annoyance with all the questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

My Nexus S i9020A is on 2.3.4 and it says I'm up to date. Other people with the same phone have Android 2.3.6 or 4.0.3 OTA... whenever I go to check for updates, it says my system is up to date...
I was wondering how to fix this?
also is there some other way to update without having to ROOT... whenever I root, bad things ALWAYS happen. I have REALLY bad luck....
Thanks!
Anyone? Please?
I am not an expert and ended up rooting my nexus s i9020a! its not that hard and you take control of your phone!
I do not know if you can install the rom manager app without rooting your devise! if you can then you can install the software and download the stock rom u want and install it!

I've done it on my past phones. Samsung phones usually are easy to root. But yeah, you need root access to be able to use ROM Manager
maybe this can help you! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445621

my problem is the same as the one on the Post #843.
I can't post on the thread can someone help me about it?
Can someone help me?
Hey, to clarify, did you just download and flash the V2.1 ROM? Or did you flash the 2.0 then the 2.1? By the looks of it, 2.0 must be installed first (its normal size, about 110mb) but 2.1 appears to be an update (about 10mb)...
Can you explain a bit more about how you tried to install it?
Hi all,
I'm in need of some help/guidance.
My N1 is rooted with GRJ22, I don't remember how I rooted it. But now, I want to update to GRK39F. How can I accomplish this? I've read a lot of threads, but clearly I'm still in the dark. Some say use bexboot, CWM recovery, but I don't understand all of that. If someone out there can point me in the right direction, I'll be greatly appreciated.
Thanks is advance.
Hello all,

OK, i am on the 3 network and have sent an email to LG regarding updating to 2.3 and they say that it is only available in the UK on the T-mobile network, I want to no if i can manually update to 2.3 that is compatible with the UK and my network. If not is there anyway to unlock my phone to make it compatible?
I have already rooted my phone using Gingerbreak
If i can update is there anywhere where i can get download links and a step by step guide that will work on my phone? i have been through many posts that explain things but i still am not to sure whether they will work with my phone, and if the ROM will work with my phone.
If i could get some advice or if someone could point me in the right direction of a post that will help me i would be most grateful!
Again i'm sorry if i am completely missing the obvious, i'm just a n00b in the process of learning.
Ive been stuck at the same point in the process for months
Thanks
