[q] help! Skins won't install! - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

I'm trying to install skins on my hd2 wm 6.5 and no matter what skin i install, the taskbar and softkey menu's always stay blue. i go into settings and home, and only two themes show up for my device: cell_theme and classic blue. none of the installed cab themes appear (yes they are made for 6.5) and no matter which of the two that who i pick, its always blue.
so how to i either:
A. manually change the colors for the taskbar (without really using code)
B. get these theme cabs to install?!
i've looked everywhere on the net and nothing seems to work.
thanks for any help.

dutthroy and his red update

dutty (the genius) and his newest patch obviously used red as a themes throughout the rom. i like the change but i also want options. are the programs or cabs which would allow you to change the red (especially in the dialing screen).
you can overwrite it with a black dailer cab some found here thoughout the forums
like this one...

if you use nrg weather app and are having trouble with it and the theme
you can try chome configurator here it is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393104 go in to it and hit ctestuiplugin and hit show exit out
it used to work for me but with the one I have now I have to us a reg edit and go to security/chome/defaultsettings/ctestuiplugin change disabled to 0 and go to
software/Microsoft/chome/ctestuiplugin change disabled to 0
here is some cpr. files if the clock slide changes back.just install the cab one is for 3.0 to 3.2 and one is for 2.0 to 2.3 then go to options in the weather app layout options and pick one of the cpr. the weather app over writes the cpr file in windows so win you pick a layout it will kill the clock slide till you put the cpr files I made in it
here is some original wallpaper that came with the htc diamond and I added a bronzeres.dll with black diamond icons

It sounds like you unzipped the cab file because otherwise you wouldn't see all the files. Redownload the cab and save it to your phone, but do not extract the files from it first. Then use file explorer on your phone to start the cab install by clicking on the cab file.
hey coo theme who created it?
i have this installed and running on a Blackjack 1 with 6.1, everything seems to work right except the clock and the slider panels. The clock is the standard clock not the one on the screenshot of the OP, the slider panels are blue no matter what back ground i use.
Is the default background supposed to be the black diamound one? I bet its not showing up because this is not made for a landscape device. could this be made for a landscape device?
OK look at the second posters avatar.....my screen looks just like that. Isn't it supposed to have the diamound style clock and background? When i switch the the diamound green or diamound fire they both show up fine, just the clock is not diamound and the panels are blue.

sorry i did not make it for landscape and it would not work on it
ok, well thats to bad, it is really a cool home screen. I didn't think there would ever be this kind of screen on a smartphone.
Great work though! I wish i could figure out how to do this kind of stuff!
Well i took a pic of something black and made it my home screen and with the blue sliders it looks pretty good! So i don't have the clock like i wanted but, all the other stuff works and i have a pretty cool looking home screen!
Thanks!

So I installed cab on phone succesfully, but I went to settings, more, regional settings nd I tried to change the time format like you said but it only gave me a few to choose from ( 11:19:42 am or pm) but wouldn't let me enter in 00:00:00 or anything else. Please help & thanks.
edit: FYI it seems to be working just fine w/out adjusting those settings, excatly what does changing the time format do? Thanks again nd I luv the new theme, keep up the good work.
johnnyeoneal: you have it right I just put the 00:00:00 for currant time and if you didn't change your time to that format it would not line up with the diamond like boxes

o2 diamond pro and the tf3d theme :(

hey guys,
i know there are a bunch of threads out there already which deal with themes and tf3dconfig 0.6.7 and everything. but it seems like there's been quite a few issues with the original o2 ROM TF3D and the attempt to install the black htc theme.
I tried to use tf3dconfig 0.6.7 and use the diamond htc black theme here from the forum. The installation works quite alright, everything seems nice but the music player doesn't show the artist/genre/track/album horizontal menu and also is the list of applications black on black.
Maybe there are a few manila files missing or something?
I don't really want to flash my rom since there's only a beta out of the german romeos and i need a stable working phone - but the blue o2 theme is really ugly.
Are there any ideas out there what's going wrong and how to fix that problem? Or could you tell me which manila files have to be edited in order to see the custom menu bar in the music player and the black font color in the list of all applications?
I think this is also happening with the Vodafone Version of TF3D
Regards
Oli
Yes, I have the exact same problem as well with my Vodaphone Touch Pro, I've scouted through the forums for hours while at college and have not seen a solution for this, I'm guessing the only work around would be to flash the phone?
Same problem here. Have a MDA Vario IV (T-Mobile Version) and I have the same issue as you when installing the original theme.
I am searching for a solution for two days now and I haven't find anything yet.
I don't need the original HTC theme, I would be lucky with any "magentaless theme" that works.
I have found a working black theme, but it is on german.
for tf3d:
http://rapidshare.com/files/137214550/Mossi_TF3D.zip.html
and for wm6.1:
http://rapidshare.com/files/131850418/Htc_black.zip.html
Now the colors are right, but I think tf3d is much slower now. I have already done all tweaks for optimizing the performance.
Is there any solution?
hey very cool!
but i think that version is older than my current one.
where'd you find that one?

I found it in this forum
http://www.ppc-phones.de/punforum/viewtopic.php?pid=56565
I installed the theme. It's not that slow that I can't use it but with the original T-Mobile theme TF3D was much faster.
well i installed it just now and it isn't slower than the o2 tf3d version really.
but if you go to settings -> connections this page appears still in blue in tf3d but i don't really mind that (i don't open that page too often since i have secondtoday)
do you know how i can change the dropdown background when i click on start in the upper left corner? cause that's still blue too
thanks
go to start - settings - today and there are the themes for wm6.1.
there you choose this file:
http://rapidshare.com/files/13185041...black.zip.html
(I copied it to the windowsfolder before selecting it in the settings)
with the t-mobile theme the first screen (the one with the clock) was there immediately when I switched to it on tf3d. now it needs half a second, but it is ok for me.
hi,
this rapidshare link doesn´t work.
any other link or solution? that blue o2 theme is soooo ugly

Swype, and changing icons

Hello, I have some problems with my HD2...
1. I've decided to install a new ROM - Rom duttys 2.3 PTG. But when I want to install a Swype something go wrong...The installation process is OK. But after, when I want to change the keyboard to Swype the system is going down, and I have an information "System EnglishOS not found..." And I have to restart my HD2 and uninstall the Swype keyboard to work normally...
2. do you know any .cab that change from 3 to 4 or 5 icons (they are on Today screen)?
3.I'm using JWMD and CSMI program to change start icon...But I would like to change also the icon on the Today screen...I've changed the icon on the start screen, but when I go to Today screen there is still the same old "ugly" icon...even after restart....
Thank you!
The answer to your third question is rather simple...
Browse to \Application Data\HTC\ProgLauncher and delete the icon you wish to see changed. Restart your device afterwards.

Replace Blue Telstra Sense theme with original Black theme

Hi all,
I really want to change the HD2 manila theme, which is blue on the Telstra version of the phone to the Black standard theme on the other models on the market.
Does any have a cab file for this at all?
I've searched and searched and got nothing at all. I really prefer the black theme as the blue really doesnt go with the phone at all.
Please help
Cheers.

I use this on my Telstra HD2 works a treat
I dont care much for the theme but the ROM is the fastest I have found (and I have tried a lot)

Easiest non FLASH-ROM method
Go to settings and hit the soft key "menu". Then " all settings". Go to the "Today" tab and choose whatever color and background image you prefer.
Enjoy.
