Froyo Official - Captivate General

So, as per engadget, it seems that the official froyo upgrade is starting to roll out.
It seems the nordic countries are getting it first. We will have it, soon enough.
Just wanted everyone to know

Yay! someone is going to have to walk us slower folks on how to get from the unofficial build to the legit one.

And this belongs in the Development forum because....
Please post in the correct forum, general!

It should also be noted that this is Froyo for the I9000, not the Captivate or other variants

...and yes, this is for the international version, I9000, NOT the Captivate. We have to wait for it to go through testing and stuff from At&t.

[q] sgh-t959p roms

I'm sure this is a question which a lot of lurkers wants to know.
There are a lot of custom roms/mods out now in the development section, but will they work with the SGH-T959P?
I've done searches on this forum and there are no posts that has a solution or answer.

He has the Fascinate 4G that is on Telus from Canada. It's different from the first Fascinate. Which there is no section on xda yet. I think the U.S. version is SCH-1500 and the Telus Fascinate is SGH-T959D. Both are different from what he has.
Please don't try to flash anything in the regular Fascinate section of XDA. You may brick your phone.
Yes, to reaffirm that I have the galaxy s2 from Telus in Canada.
So there isn't much support for this phone right now correct? And do you think support is coming soon?

So then you have a SGH-I9100? Cuz the model number you gave earlier is for the Fascinate 4G.

Can someone please upload an image I can odin flash to my bricked t959p... yes as you speculated, SGS4G and regular fascinate files do not work. sigh.
But it won't work because they are different roms for different phones, right?

if you guys can get me the STOCK build number I can see if I can get you what you need.
ours looks like UVKD1
I need something that looks like that. or just send me the build.prop from a working phone.
That sounds promising. Obviously I don't have a working phone... but I do have a set of clockwordmod backups (.android_secure.img, cache.img, data.img, system.img) Would that work somehow?
Hi, I have SGH-T959P phone, where I can upload/send you build.prop?
Thanks for offering to help! I sent you a PM.
-Ryan.
day number 6 without my android.
I have the Fascinate 4G from telus too and hope that someone can work on some roms hope this helps
Baseband version: T959PTLKD2
Build number: FROYO.PTLKD2
Solved my problem btw... Read my little story here:

Now I wait for the kindness of others who may build some faster better roms for our phones. I can send the factory dumps to anyone who might be interested.

[Q] Updating Samsung Infuse 4G(Rooted) to Ginderbread

Hi everyone, I was wondering if I could update the firmware on my Samsung Infuse from Froyo Android 2.2.1 to Gingerbread 2.3 with a rooted phone? Will anything be lost during this, and will I have to unroot and then re-root my phone in order to update?
These questions are answered in the AT&T official update info thread. Please read before posting.

I'm sorry, I'm new and can't find the thread you're referring to. If you wouldn't mind, could you please either post here or send me a message with the link to that thread?

I do not believe there is an upgrade path from froyo to gb that will keep root. There are some pre-rooted gb ROMs but nothing down the official road. The official gb update is the same as the UCKL2 leak from December. Do a search for user przekret and you'll see the thread. Its buried in the development forum somewhere. Any of the "official" GB updates are flashable only through Odin so I'm pretty sure you'd lose everything. At least that's what I've been reading. I lost everything when I flashed it. Personally, however, the "official" is very unpolished and I'm actually back on UCKH1 Froyo until a new "official" is out.

International ICS?

Hi, i was reading this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1683893
And i ask: Is this work in a Atrix 2 from Argentina?
Yes, i'm from Argentina and i bought it in 'Claro'. It's like 'AT&T' but, from here.
So, as you can see, i cant reply in a developer thread. This is why i'm asking here.
Sorry for my poor english
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho... on basic rules and how to help the community
There's at least three threads about the ICS leak, as I'm assuming you're asking about here, and the huge issue with some users completely bricking their phones trying to FXZ back to stock. That being so, there's NO links available for flashing the leak until our devs have sorted out this mess (AT&T version). Unless you've got the MEARET version, you just have to be patient. If you cannot post in the Dev Section, you can always PM someone who might be able to answer your question with a bit more info from your end...

Seperate Forums for AT&T vs bootloader-unlocked variants

Because ROMS and Recoveries need to be LOKI-patched to work on the AT&T version, the development forums should probably be split up to avoid confusion. There is no way to flash a ROM or recovery developed for other variants onto the AT&T variant or vice versa.

Ah I see. You may be right about that. Not a whole different forum, just new Android Development and Original Android Development subforums.
I think we should have a separate forum for black phones and white phones too.
OMG that sounded so bad.
What about the illegals? Phones that is

Canadian S6 (920W) - What ROMS can be flashed?

Hi All,
Just wondering if there are any custom ROMS here on XDA that can be flashed to the 920W (Canadian) version of the S6?
It's been a while since I've had a "regional" type device (Going all the way back to my S3) as usually I opt for the International version of devices.
That being said, I don't recall how careful I have to be when flashing a ROM that may have been made for a different regional version device.
Also... What is the best way to root the S6? I've heard lots about PING-PONG and how it won't trip KNOX but any advice is appreciated!
Thanks in advance from a Senior Member who feels like a NOOB all over again... lol...
Thanks,
PS... If I've posted in the wrong place please accept my apology... ☺
You're a senior member with almost two thousand posts and you still managed to ask your question in the wrong section...
T-Mobile ROMs can be flashed without the need for the audio fix, the same applies to AT&T ROMs.
Thanks to a few developers in the TMO section, you can now flash International ROMs along with a specific few kernels, or any kernel of your choice and a flashable patch for the call audio fix.
Lol... Ya I know but to be fair I did post in the Q&A section with no answers at all so I thought I'd try here... ? Thanks for the info...
Questions belong in Q&A.
Thank you.
So If I understand right, I can flash any at&t or t-mobiles roms for my g920w model?
