It seems that this is already well documented in the Cognition wiki, no?

You may also catch some flack as this has nothing to do with actual android development.
Cog 2.2 Beta 6 should be rooted already when you flash it, unless something changed. I dont see the need to use one click root.

Plus this list may be a bit confusing to a real noob.
Jimmy thanks for this, simple but very precise. The wiki seems to be written for somebody that already knows all the details. It's also not very clear as to whether or not you can go straight from eclair to cog2.2, you cleared it up for me so now I don't have to start a "sorry about the noobness" thread/post. I'm running cog 2.1.5 so I have done it before, even used odin once. Thanks again
Or you could just use his pre-made Odin flash and skip all of those steps.

That's an answer that belongs in some sort of guide for noobs haha
I appreciate the detailed instructions. A few details to be added. Odin is Windows only, and one click root does not copy the zip file successfully for me (on a Mac). I had to view the package contents of the program and drag the file over and rename it myself, then used the program to reboot into recovery (3 button didn't work for me either).

So does this mean I cant go from stock eclair to froyo with only Rom Manager and no use of ODIN (my phone never recognizes ODIN )
Actually, I think this is a good idea, might keep some of the junk out of the regular Cog thread, that thing is Frickin HUGE...

yes you go from stock eclair to froyo with only Rom Manage...
i did it on sunday night and today i see new cog 6 beta released!!!!
copy cog file to your sd card; install rom manager and continue from there, it will fail the first time (mostly) start phone again and reinstall package..done.
There's also one more thing the op didn't mention. If this is targeted at noobs, it really should be mentioned that if you follow these instructions, you are essentially wiping your entire phone clean (by the odin one click stock). If your that paranoid, go for it.
To me though, I just use titanium backup first, and back everything up. Then after upgrading to cog from eclair (directly without reverting to stock) you can restore your THIRD PARTY apps plus their data. (avoid restoring core apps as thats a bad idea) Not to mention no need to back up and restore any of the media you might have on the internal sd card. (not sure if odin one click stock touches that stuff or not)
I've had no problems in any of my ROM upgrades, and I've moved from 2.1 to cog 2.2 beta 2, then again today to cog 2.2 beta 6. All of that without a restore to stock. You really should only restore to stock if you are having problems AFTER upgrading. Why do extra work and wipe the whole thing clean if it's not necessary? Just adds steps, and possible frustration from people not expecting a wiped phone.
thank u man! rly!
Please verify that you are able to get into download mode using only button combinations before you start any flashing process.

You have to root to be able to flash it in the first place.
Do you mean that Odin won't recognize your phone? WHat happens when you try?

Like some of you, i'm an absolute newbie to Android. But after a week of reading and scrolling through many webpages and forums. i finally got the nerve to Root my Aria and install Attn1's ROM because i was tired of the auto-start of ATT's bloatware and random restarting of those apps that i had to constantly check and kill with Advanced Task Killer (ATK..in the Market).
and yes i've actually seen a slight increase in my batter life after. (on at 6am..average txting, heavy web surfing, and minimal Market browsing...69% by 2pm)
so here's the step by step guide without having to go through the many pages of the forums...
** To Root your Aria and Clockwork Mod
1. go to http://unrevoked.com, choose your Aria phone, and click the download file. save and extract into a easy to remember directory on your computer.
2. go to http://www.unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php?id=public:windows_hboot_driver_install and follow the instructions to install HBOOT
3. go to HTC's website and download and install HTC Sync. Yes it's been said it messes up the process. slightly not true. you're only gonna install it so that the proper ADB drivers are installed that Unrevoked Rooting tool needs to access your phone. as soon as it installs...uninstall it. it will leave the proper ADB required drivers behind. (it took me hours and finally wading through 6 pages worth of forum posts to find this out..so i'm saving you the trouble)
4. now on your phone..click Menu > Settings > Connect to PC > Default Connection Type > and select Charge Only
5. go back to Settings > Applications > Development > and check USB Debugging
6. now start UnRevoked (c:\directory you chose\reflash.exe)
7. gray wide window with UnRevoked's logo and a "waiting for device" type message under it. now plug in your Aria via USB to the computer. sit back and watch the magic. 5mins (or less) later and you will have a Rooted phone with Clockwork mod.
**now that your Aria is rooted you can install Attn1's ATT bloatware free Rom.
1. go to Menu > Settings > Connect to PC > Default Connection Type > and select Disk Drive
2. go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=708434 and decide which beta version you want to use. I chose B003 since it's the one folks have the least issues with and the cleanest one that hasn't changed too much about the stock rom. download and save the file to your SD Card. i chose the Download folder to make it easy to find.
3. now turn off your phone. hold down the Volume Down button and press the Power button. you should see the standard Fastboot menu with the lil droid guys on skateboards on the bottom. press the volume down button until "recovery" is highlighted. hit the Power button to select it. you'll see the HTC logo as if it's booting and the clockwork mod screen (black background with green text) that you were left at with the Unrevoked tool.
4. using the volume down button select Nandroid > Backup. i'm not quite sure but i think this backups all your settings of the current stock Rom. *advanced users correct me if i'm wrong*. all i know is you NEED to do this. it was stressed in most forums.
give it a couple minutes and the process should finish.
5. now select Install Zip from SD Card. Use the volume buttons and Power button (select) and navigate to Attn1's Rom zip file. select it. don't let the warning scare you too much. his Rom is LEGIT and 110% working select yes and watch the quick install process.
few minutes later you should be up and running just fine.
6. if it reboots and you hear some pleasant chimes/dings and no ATT 3G boot up or loud WOOSH animation..you've installed his Rom just fine and all your previous settings as if nothing's changed yes the HTC Quietly Brilliant will be on your screen for a little while since there is no secondary boot animation. don't worry.
credits go to attn1 and quickness to get this clean rom up
***EDIT: July 26, 2010 ***
just wanted to thank everyone for the compliments and glad this was able to help ease the pain of rooting your Aria and installing a custom ROM.
many thanks for the compliments
Whoa! Just what I needed. Many have come before you and remained silent so thanks for putting this together. I have been reading for a week now in preparation of purchasing an Aria and it just shipped from Amazon today. Now, I'm psyched!
this is amazing, i had literally just done the unrevoked thing and had no idea what to do next, and then all of the sudden this thread pops up and helped A LOT
perfect timing
glad to help
the experienced users were right that's it's simple if you KNOW what you're doing. just the answers/instructions were vague on exactly how.
ok, now how do i access clockwork? do i have to restart while holding the volume and power buttons or is there something im missing?
also, is there a way to move the apps to the sd card?

Power down your phone, than hold down the volume down button and power button. In the fastboot menu push volume down till Recovery is highlighted and push the power button to select. 5 seconds later it'll load into clockwork
And I have yet to try the SD card app method
thanks, hopefully someone will find out how to install apps to the sd card soon, it would save a lot of space
I certainly appreciate your help here. I am now running the liberated 005 on my Aria. Still want to make the jump to 2.2
Not to be rude, but we really shouldn't keep posting new instruction threads, they generally confuse people, and attn1 already mentioned this method.
new here. thanks for the step by step!
all was running fine up till the point where the program was rebooting my phone... but after the phone reboot and is running fine... it still say it's "waiting for reboot..." so... i try to start over and now it says that it's "waiting for device"...
but i've already installed and uninstalled the HTC sync for aria. please help!

yeah, but it took me over an hour and going through pages of forum posts before realizing i needed to install HTC Sync and uninstall it so that i could have all the drivers i needed and no issues of programs trying to access the USB port. this saves some newbs a lil headache. that's all i'm trying to do.

just plug the phone back in and let it run the Unrevoked again. i ran into the same issue and thought i might have rebooted too soon through clockwork.
Thank you for this. I tried to root my phone the other way and could never get my phone to be seen by my comp.
can anyone tell me why the link to unrevoked.com/#aria wont load. all i get is the the home page where you select your phone. down at the bottom of the screen it says errors on page.... so frustrating
It's working for me. Try http://unrevoked.com/recovery/

edit: keep getting error at line 7 and installation aborted. phone is pretty much screwed. i can keep getting back into clockwork but dont know what to do from there. phone wont boot up either

Odd. Never had that happen. In the install zip from SD card menu try selecting Signature Verification method is off and try that.
Also make sure you reboot the phone after rooting just in case.

If you followed the instructions, you can use ClockworkMod to restore your 'nandroid' backup.
Found out what the problem was. At least I think. When I formatted my SD card(trying other methods), I lost all the default folders. So I created a "downloads" folder and put the liberated Rom in it. Therefore I was getting an error message. I nand restored, moved the Rom out of the dl folder, and just put the zip file on the SD card. Not in a folder. Then proceeded with the instructions and worked just fine. Thx everyone. Now I'm rooted and flashed my first Rom (at least on android)

Yesterday afternoon I attempted the Bionic Path Saver update with 901 and Liberty 2.0. Due to issues with flashing the Webtop image and some flaws in the script I wound up with a dead phone. After hacking up a charger and over 12 hours of experimentation I was able to get the phone and and was able to update it. I do not want anyone to have to go through what I went through so I am posting this. I do not take credit for the files, I only came up with the combination. All download links lead to the creators. Let me know how this works out and of course always create backups before performing this.
**Things you will need**
A FULLY charged battery
My SafeBionicPathSaver_v2.rar - http://www.filesharesite.com/files/201201/1327968223SafeBionicPathSaver_v2.rar.html
RSDLite 5.5 - In this package
Motorola Drivers - In this package
flashme.zip - In this package
Liberty 2.0 (.901 OTA Compatible) - http://rootzwiki.com/topic/13096-901-radio-working-with-custom-rom/
bionicbootstrap.apk - http://droidmodderx.com/bionic/bootstrap-recovery-for-the-bionic/
**Instructions**
1.) Install RSDLite 5.5 and Motorola Drivers (32-bit or 64-bit accordingly).
2.) Extract flashme.zip to any location on your computer.
3.) Extract SafeBionicPathSaver_v2.rar (ME) files to any location on your computer.
4.) Copy bionicbootstrap.apk and copy the Liberty 2.0 (.901 OTA Compatible) ZIP to the root directory of your SD card.
5.) Connect phone to computer, set phone to USB Debugging Mode, and set it to Charge Only. You will also need to allow "Unknown sources" in your application settings.
6.) Go to the directory from Step 3 and run SBPSscript.bat. Let it run and wait for Phase 1 to complete.
7.) Phone should now be at the bootloader. Open up RSDLite and browse to the XML in the directory from Step 2. Flash this and the phone should reboot, it will take a while.
8.) The phone should now be at the Android setup screen. *The phone has been reflashed and reset, you now need to follow STEP 5 again to continue*. You may now contune following the prompts in the SBPSscript.bat script. Watch for any errors as directed. The phone should end up booted into stock recovery.
9.) At the recovery menu you are going to install updates manually. First do update893.zip, then do update901.zip. Make sure there were no errors then reboot the phone.
10.) You are now at version .901 and should still be rooted. To test root you can try and update Superuser by going to Superuser's menu and updating the binary. If it fails with a permission issue, you do not have root and have to start over.
***IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO REMAIN ON THE STOCK ROOTED .901 ROM YOU CAN STOP HERE. THE REST OF THE STEPS ARE FOR GETTING LIBERTY3 2.0 INSTALLED.***
11.) Now install bionicbootstrap.apk, open the application, and press the "Bootstrap Recovery" button (grant any SU access). This will install the Clockwork Recovery ROM and would fail if you were not still rooted.
12.) Now click the "Reboot Recovery" button. You will now be in the Clockwork Recovery Mod.
13.) At this menu you will need to wipe data, cache, dalvik cache, and format /system.
14.) Now you will select "install zip from sdcard" using the volume and power buttons and choose the Liberty ZIP you uploaded in Step 6.
15.) After this is done you can reboot the phone and you will have a Liberty3 2.0 / .901 Radio Bionic!

You're welcome, a user just notified me of a typo "fixme = flashme" and I have updated that in my ZIP and in the post. The same user also told me that the flashme.zip file isn't available for download at the moment. I would host it myself, but I know that within 30 minutes my pipe would be saturated. Hopefully this link comes back up soon, if not I will find a way to host it somewhere.

I believe you can, but you MAY have to flash a .901 CDT image after you flash back to .839. I came back from a failed root attempt on .901, but I was also playing with different CDTs. If you try it out you can definately get it working, may or may not have to flash that .901 CDT.
I haven't able to have any success with this. I tried it twice but it keeps hanging on the Motorola screen. This is after I flash flashme (step 9) and when it goes to reboot. I've waited both time for 15-20 minutes but nothing. Is there something I'm missing? I have RSDLite 5.5 and Drivers 5.4

Well since you have rebooted you now have to manually get it into the fastboot mode. I am in the same boat. I believe since the ROM is built on .886 that is what it is going to report. The radio, however, has already been updated and Liberty doesn't contain a radio and therefor would not roll it back. The version of Liberty used in here is only patched with libraries to handle the .901 radio. Since the upgrade I have not had the contant data drops and 3g/4g switching that I had before. The only time the data really drops now is when I'm going through a tunnel or something like that.

The governement is getting out of control with the piracy protection... I can make one complete package that would be much smaller than all of them combined, but if I host it I know I will be out of bandwidth in 30 min (it would still be fairly large).

Which files did you find were missing? I was able to download two of the larger ones with no problem.
The flash me zip was not available and one other file was blocked on two of the sites and on a third it called for four hours to download. I want to get off the 901 system and downgrade so I can run the ics ROM. I tried once and was bricked for 24 hours until I found the bin swap method to get back to 893 from the motorola files using rsdlite.

Unlocked Rogers SAMSUNG-Galaxy infuse failed system after GTG's Ultimate Unbrick
Hi, I'm new to this new Unbrick thing... I was about to throw out my Unlocked Galaxy Infuse and saw hope in this thread.
I unrooted my phone (not even sure how it got rooted in the first place) using GTG and Odin 3v 1.7. Did the hard reset. Now I see At&t and Samsung logo just hangs there. It's not even a boot loop because "Samsung" doesn't flashes.
This means I used the wrong Unbrick? So.... what now please? I just want my phone to be as it was when I first got it (Not rooted, default settings).
Can someone please explain to a newbie (I admit it!) step by step how to proceed? (When I hold vol up and down + power, samsung logo flashes like a boot loop. cant get past that.)
Thanks in advance )
PSS Should I use UXKG3, UCLB3 Unbrick... ? So confused...

You probably already have it figured out...use UCLB3 if you're phone was released by AT&T, or UXKG3 if you bought through Rogers. I had the same predicament when I thought I bricked my phone and tried to go back to stock (I use Rogers so I was a little confused that my phone was crashing every 15 seconds with the UCLB3 back-to-stock).
Luckily I don't have to follow the UCLB3/UXKG3 conundrum with ROMS like CyanogenMod. Using CM 10.1 with UCLB3 kernel without any issues.
Same problem

Basically I have done the same samething with my phone, shows AT&T World Phone and the stuck on SAMSUNG logo, but I am really new to rooting and just not sure how to get back to Rogers. Just need super clear instructions/baby steps. And yes, the Infuse I have is infact one from Rogers.
Please help and thank you in advance

Odin Instructions:
1) Make sure the drivers for the Infuse 4G are installed. (Installing Kies is the easiest way to accomplish this.)
2) Download and unzip Odin_UXKG3_rooted_no_bootloaders.zip.
3) Run Odin v1.81 as administrator.
4) Place your phone into download mode. (Pull battery, replace battery, and press and hold both volume buttons while plugging in the USB cable.)
5) Make sure your phone shows up in Odin as COM##.
6) Click the PDA button and choose PDA_UXKG3_rooted_no_bootloaders.tar.md5.
7) Click the PHONE button and choose PHONE_UXKG3.tar.md5.
8) Press Start.
9) If the phone doesn't automatically reboot after it completes the flash, just pull the battery and then replace it and turn on the phone.
10) You should perform a factory reset after it boots. Go to Settings > Privacy and select factory reset. Warning: This will clear everything on your internal SD card, so move everything you want to keep to the external SD card first.

Just so I don't screw up again in future rooting attempts, got any tips/links one should look at before attempting to root. I really wanna learn
If you flashed with above, then you are already rooted
Yeah look for superuser app in app drawer! Or download a root checker in Play Store to check!

Is there any way of checking if CWM Recovery is installed as well? I'm trying to install Cyanfox 4.4.2 ROM which requires a KitKat compatible CWM Recovery, which is what I need. Any suggestions would be great!

Hmm.. It could be files in your Internal SD card. Best to copy thing your need to your pc then format it. Also seem you using replacing recovery method thru root explorer / file manager to get CWM Recovery 2.5.1.2. My method is a bit different but it get me from GB stock + root and Synthesis GB Kernel to any other Rom without going thru ICS and JB:
1. Either use Odin or Heimdall One-Click. Follow instruction on how to do it.
2. While phone running install sgs kernel flasher from Market/Google Play.
2a. Copy/transfer Synthesis GB Kernel to your Internal SD card.
2b. Start up sgs kernel flasher and choose it from your Internal SD card. Phone will auto-reboot after done flashing.
2c. Wait a bit while your phone convert to new partition format and activate lagfix. Your CWM recovery version should be 2.5.1.3
3. Reboot phone into CWM Recovery and DISABLE vodoo lagfix and /system lagfix. Reboot once done. Phone will convert partition to old format. If you don't turn the lagfix off the phone will hang at Samsung logo when you install new rom.
4. Prepare your flavor rom/gapp for installation by copying them to your Internal SD card.
4a. Go into CWM Recovery mode and install the rom. You will need to do this twice since the 1st time was just a warning about partition format being different.
4b. Reboot once done. You will need to REMOVE the battery to power down the booting process and put it back in.
4c. Go into the New CWM Recovery and install the rom again since the previous attempt only install the new CWM Recovery.
5. Install Gapp.
6. a. Wipe: Cache / Factory Reset <--- Probably don't need it since it's new install from stock unless you installed stuff. Just to be safe.
b. Wipe: Cache Partition
c. Wipe: Dalvik Cache
7. Reboot
Hope that help.

No custom bootloaders come with the back-to-stock image. To check, do the three-finger salute to turn in on (power, and both volume buttons pressed). Will see either 3e recovery or CWM in the title. If it is the former, you can try this link (method 1), but I ended up doing the below:
Instructions:
1) Create a folder on your internal SD card called Voodoo. Then create another folder inside of it called disable-lagfix.
2) Make sure the Samsung USB drivers are installed. Installing Kies is a good way to accomplish this. It shouldn't matter which version of Kies you install as they all contain the same USB driver.
3) Download and unzip Odin_Infused_Gingerbread_Kernel_v1.zip.
4) Right click on Odin3_v1.81.exe and run it as administrator.
5) Place your phone into download mode. Do this by powering it completely off and then holding down both volume buttons while plugging in the USB cable.
6) Make sure your phone shows up in Odin as COM##.
7) Click the PDA button and choose PDA_Infused_Gingerbread_Kernel_v1.tar.md5.
8) Press Start.
9) If the phone doesn't automatically reboot after it completes the flash, just pull the battery and then replace it and turn on the phone.
10) You should now be rooted and see the Superuser app installed on your phone.

your welcome
OMG, thanks sooo much you guys for this, you just saved me a trip to rogers to cancel my phone plan (even though its like $90 a month for 6gb of data)
Rooted my phone, then tried to use ODIN for the recovery 3e install thing, which failed. Thought my phone was bricked and used the GTG ultimate unbrick which caused more problems
Samsung Galaxy s 4g T959V-Gingerbread. Rooted it with SuperOneClick... Didnt have CWM. when I tried to install Black Ice and ICNINB. Tried doing with Rom Manager. Then read that doesn't work with this phone. Was able to flash AltonX KJ6 kernal through SGS kernel flasher in order or get CWM on the phone. That worked. But when I went to flash the zip files for the roms again. They still didn't work. I thought I was following the directions. Get into download mode> create a backup> wipe data> make sure the mounts were right> then flash the zip file. Well the first time I did i,t it kinda went through. Although I didn't have RED CWM or Linda. Wanted to get Voodoo and LagFix. So I decided to flash again. When it came time to reboot.. it got stuck in a loop between two different Samsung screens. One with a big swoopy S the other just the normalt-mobile samsung screen before it boots up. Going from one to the other never really rebooting. So again I decided to get into download mode again and then flash a recovery backup file. And NOW it just hangs on the Samsung T-Moblie screen. I've tried battery pulls also tried using a JIG. Screen pops up but just freezes there.
Any suggestions??

you don't want voodoo lagfix. unreliable, imho.
Try eollie's stock + root in the second post my oneclick thread. It's a stock rom and blastoff v2.5.
Run the oneclick the first time to flash just the kernel and rom.
Click flash bootloaders.
reboot phone to download mode again
flash again, this time with bootloaders.
After that, you should be golden.
Don't forget to read the directions in the OP.

Thank you so much for getting back to me. A couple of questions if I may?
1) if I'm able to get the samsung screen, does that mean I'm able to get into Download mode? It just seems to hang on that samsung T-Mobile screen.
2) The link to dropbox that I'm supposed too click on, seems to be broken... Stock_KJ6_+_root-One-Click.jar (this has the blastoff v2 kernel)- https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10373328/Stock KJ6 + root-One-Click.jar -
Here's what comes up: Error (404)
We can't find the page you're looking for. Check out our Help Center and forums for help, or head back to home.
3) Assuming that I'm able to get to download mode, I just want to check to make sure that I'm reading your directions correctly.
- when I run OneClick the 1st time, it will automatically apply just the kernel and rom.
- Then I'm supposed to reboot? Or flash the bootloaders?
- After that I'm supposed to reboot phone to download mode again.
- Flash Bootloaders again??
I'm sure I'm messing up the directions or rather misreading them.

Yes. Sometimes even if the phone seems to turn on and go to a black screen, you might still be able to get to download mode.
Seriously, this phone is like a tank... unless you flash gt-i9000 or vibrant roms. Then you will brick your phone.

Put your phone into download mode, either by holding vol+ and vol- and plugging in the usb from your computer (keep holding vol+ and vol- till you see download mode) or use a jig.
Once your in download mode. Flash the first time. Yes, it will only flash the kernel and rom. The phone will automatically reboot after the flash.
Wait a little bit after the phone reboots, you'll see a little local update happen and reboot the phone again. Then pull the battery and put the phone back into download mode.
Then check the "flash bootloaders" checkbox. flash the oneclick again this time with bootloaders.
After this, you can go anywhere from this rom, except back to froyo. I'm still working on a simple oneclick method for going back to froyo.

It's me again... Sorry if I'm being a pain..
So I downloaded the link.. I have it on my desktop...I put my phone into download mode..(Yellow Triangle> Do not unplug).. I clicked on your OneClick... it loads but then tells me to connect my device... It keeps telling me I'm disconnected..
When I plug my phone into my compt via USB.. it now tells me that my device is unrecognized.
Now what did I do wrong?
I was hoping I was close to a resolution... another roadblock.
Can I fix it?
Once again, thank you for any and all the help and advice you have given me.
There is s thread called fresh out of the box now what. It will help you immensely. Sounds like you need to uninstall all samsung and android drivers and reinstall them. In that thread there is a application for your computer called usbview that can remove them (I probably misspelled that apps name). The thread is by lumin30.

You have tried different usb ports too? Other than that maybe a different computer. I know bhundven says dont use front usb ports too.

I just went to the samsung website and downloaded the drivers from there.. Still having the same problem... usb device has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it.
IIRC when you plug the phone in you need to stop it from installing the samsung drivers. Then use zadig to install them like illustrated in lumin30s guide.
Be sure to use a rear usb port if on a desktop. Dont change ports if things start to work. If you have to use a different port I suggest using usbdeview to remove drivers each time. It seems like overkill but it might work.

One more thing, I installed Stock_KJ6_+_root-One-Click.jar (this has the blastoff v2 kernel)... That should mean the phone is rooted.. correct? although I don't see SUPERUSER in my apps list.. Also does this have CWM installed? Can I flash a custom rom moving forward?? If so which one do you consider the best? I originally was having trouble because I was running into low internal memory and couldn't download many apps. That's why I wanted to flash BLACK ICE originally.. I thought that would fix my problem..
This phone suffers from low internal memory. However you can move almost all apps to your sdcard from within the rom. If the things that do not work on the JB roms are ok with you I hear good things about those.
As for the sim card..Im not sure. The one click you used doesnt have SU included because it is a stock rom with custom rooted kernel. You would have to install it from the Play store. But I reccomend flashing a different rom anyway. Again the JB roms seem to be pretty awesome so that is a option.

reboot to cwm (recovery). wipe cache partition. advanced -> wipe dalvik cache. advanced -> fix permissions. reboot phone. Let it sit for a few minutes before doing anything (I'd say 10-15 minutes).
Oh weird. did that oneclick come with blastoff v2 and not 2.5?
Hmm, then do this. download blastoff v2.5, put that on your sdcard and install it from red cwm.
Then do what I said above. You should be back to blue after rebooting to recovery after flashing that kernel.
EDIT: if you really want red cwm (voodoo lagfix), I really don't know why you'd want that, but checkout my older subtly modified stock kernel.

Thank you again for ALL your help.. You guys saved my phone..
Okay so I've been at it for days and i mean like months.... when I first bought my 8 gb white Samsung galaxy tab 3 Kernel 3.4.5, android 4.1.2, model JZ054K.T210RUEAMK1 and all i have been running into is problems, like jittery display issues, or flickering display, I tried every method but none has worked but i finally found one and got it all working and running, First of all i would like to thank gr8nole for this method, and all who have helped him. So first let me explain the most easiest explanation for dummies like me, or noobs
Just and example video for visual learners http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XolmtyvS3Yk&feature=youtu.be, but you want to click on the files i suggested on the bottom lol not what he has on his screen xD
Must Have: KIES, make sure you have fully updated rom from samsung themself which can be found on kies when you plug it in and update firmware, which your android should be on 4.1.2 and version because that's what i have
1. First lets Get all the files we need, First go download SM-T210.CWM.6.0.4.5.recovery.tar.zip at his xda post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433853, after you have download that you will a friend name odin, which can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189539 (With odin you only want to use v3.07) and nothing else , Last but not least you want this file from gr8ole android-armeabi-universal-root-signed.zip and save that to your sd card or ext while click on usb debugging or w.e you wanna store in on tablet
so you should have odin 3.07
T210.CWM.6.0.4.5.recovery.tar.zip
android-armeabi-universal-root-signed.zip
2. Use the same method as g8nole and minor adjustments

1. Download ODIN on your computer (just do a google search to find it...version 3.07 will work fine). http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2189539
2. Power off the device.
3. Restart in "Download Mode" by holding the "HOME" button, "Volume Down" and "Power" all at the same time (for about 5 seconds).
4. Hit the "Volume Up" to enter download mode.
5. Start the ODIN exe program using admin rights which means right click run as admin. I recommend un-checking Auto Reboot. DO NOT CHECK RE-PARTITION LEAVE UNCHECKED YOU BEEN WARNED (which it already should be). See notes about ODIN below.
6. Connect the device via USB to your computer. Verify the device shows as "Added" in the Message box. If it doesn't show then you need the Samsung USB drivers (just install KIES to get them) which can be found here http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/.
7. Select "PDA" then choose the T210.CWM.6.0.4.5.recovery.tar.zip.
8. Hit "START"
9. Wait for device to restart. Which means wait til odin says OKAY in the white box and the Picture ask you to reset, When the download icon under download updates is full bar, and odin says reset!, just unplug it. then restart by holding the power button down, with vol up, and home, once the samsung picture shows, only hold the up vol button, recovery mode should now be on. Select install zip, and locate the android-armeabi-universal-root-signed.zip)navigate with the up down volume button and power button to select) file, whichever you placed in sd, or exsd,
10. When all is done reboot device, then it will update your android once you turn it on, Now the anoying part, It will be rooted but what google play won't connect?, easy fix , first lets just update all the binaries since its already rooted in supersu app,
Google Store Fix, now first you have to delete your some things, your apps wont dissapear or nothing as long as you dont uinstall them, go to settings<application manager<all<google play store<clear data/cache w.e<force stop<uninstall updates<it will then ask you it will be factory installed<yes, next step, delete your gmail account if you haven't done so, now go to your time settings (Date and Time) and change it to recent date whichever today is , then open play store and it will ask you to sign in again, blah blah google needs sign up and it should be up and running
ALL DONE, remember this is for people who have run into flicker display problems, which is caused by kernal issue with our model, but with stock rom itself we can universally root it through odin with just that simple method which took me like 3 mins lol to do
Grats guys! you have root and cwm now who doesn't want that enjoy and thanks to developers hard work! and my ambition!
this worked for my SM-T210 also. Thanks heaps for this how-to!
Ok my device is already rooted but I would like to install CWM Recovery on it. So I can make a backup. Or does anyone have the stock kernel for it
Sent from my SM-T210 using xda app-developers app

But you can also use Odin 3.09.
I'm portant is that you flash always the newest CWM / TWRP or PhilzTouch Version about the new updater scripts.

Your best option is to get CWM sknce it will be your original backup instead of a Rom created from another device.
SM-T2105?
Hello,
I came here beacause of a shorcut link given by @gr8nole and another member (I forgot sorry).
But my English must be to bad, i read and re-read, still don't find the answer...
I have the G Tab 3 kids model, SM-T2105.
@bierma32 says: "Important is that you flash always the newest CWM / TWRP or PhilzTouch Version"
Could you tell me wich one is the best, CMW or TWRP, plz? (the last I can find for T210 is CMW-6.0.4.9 and/or TWRP-2.8.2.0)
More important, do you know where I can find the zip of a rooted stock rom, including that 'kids' stuff? (SM-T2105). Or will I not loose the stock rom? Is there no wipe? Sorry, I don't understand.
I want to root, because of lack of space, and the rest.. but I don't want to loose that..
And the most important, "last but not least", I could not find the zip " android-armeabi-universal-root-signed.zip", so can you help me please, putting a mirror or so? Or could it work only with flashing a SuperSU zip? Not so easy, right?
As you maybe can read, I am a newbie in Android rooting. Or is there another way to do?
Thanks for reply.
