Hi,
Just curious what people think:
Would it be possible to emulate a Sega Saturn or possibly a Sega Dreamcast on our current Android phones or on some of the rumored dual core phones coming out next year?
I would like to have a few of those game available on my phone. I would think with PSX4droid and the soon N64droid from Yongzh someone would be able to port the Sega Saturn emu
I am not sure what the specs are for Sega Dreamcast
Also would be cool to have the 32X and Sega CD options added to Gensoid.

Thoese games require high-end computer. Thoese game I think will never works on Xperia Play. Older games on Mame 0.139 works avarange... You can play Street Fighter 3rd on TigerMame and Marvel vs Capcom or SNK vs Capcom on PSX or tigermame emulator in full speed.

Those are my 2 most wanted games I wanna see on my xplay and my life will be complete. I do think it's possible especially if the nulldce dreamcast emulator is still being worked on. I wish Sega and capcom would have released these games for our plays themselves. That could easily been done but I think the play is out the door and this should have been a thought a long time ago. Would have been nice to release all the dreamcast classics on here for that matter. I guess we gotta hold our breath for nulldce. Hope we don't suffocate though.
You can play crazy taxi through onlive, You can even demo it, I think you can play the demo for something like 10 - 15 mins, enough for a quick arcade mode game
The Sega Saturn (セガサターン Sega Satān) is a 32-bit fifth-generation video game console that was first released by Sega on November 22, 1994 in Japan, May 11, 1995 in North America, and July 8, 1995 in Europe. The system was discontinued in North America and Europe in 1998, and in 2000 in Japan.
The Saturn sold 9.5 million units worldwide. While its installed base in the United States ended at 2 million, its installed base in Japan was more than 6 million units. While it was popular in Japan, the Saturn failed to gain a similar market share in North America and Europe against its main competitors: Sony's PlayStation and later the Nintendo 64.
In 2009, video game website IGN chose the Saturn to be their 18th best video game console of all time, out of their list of 25.

The Sega Saturn is the console of my childhood and i would enjoy to play with it on my brand new nexus 7 unfortunatly there isn't a lot of new of his emulator for android since one year the latest version I know is the 1.4.32 from explusalpha.com it requires ARMv7 or X86 CPU and Android 2.3 or + as well.
Why the devellopement seems so hard and so slow ?
The Sega Saturn was one of the first or maybe the First dual core console in 1994 ! for that reason the devellopment of games was really difficult to handle even at this time, games cannot be port and has to be fully rewrited for the console code and this may explains why the devellopment of emulator is so difficult...
One very fast central processor would be preferable. I don't think all programmers have the ability to program two CPUs—most can only get about one-and-a-half times the speed you can get from one SH-2. I think that only 1 in 100 programmers are good enough to get this kind of speed [nearly double] out of the Saturn.

I will have my portable shield in half a month so I'm preparing stuff... I wanted to know which are the best emulators for this device. I will mainly use it for this thing. From NES to whatever more I can. And one more question, I know that you can stream a game from PC to the Shield. Is it possible to stream a video?
Noone huh?
Retroarch has a ton of emulators built in from nes to psx, Reicast is a dreamcast emulator (the older version from the play store lags less), Robert Broglias emus from play store used to work great but since the latest shield update they lag, so stick with Retroarch unless you want to root and then change your cpu governor. Mupen64plus AE and n64oid are good n64 emulators but n64oid is outdated. DraStic is the best DS emulator. FPSE and ePSXE are good psx emulators but the one in Retroarch is better. PPSSPP is a good psp emu just make sure you download a nightly build.

Is it even possible? I have seen that the specs of the nintendo switch are similar to those of other smartphones on the market
That would be awesome
