[Q] Compatible BT Control Pad - Galaxy S I9000 Accessories

I'm on the hunt for compatible bluetooth control pads for the samsung galaxy s. I used to have one for my old i900 and worked a treat (can't recall the name of the pad), but had heard wiimote and other bluetooth controllers will not work with new samsung widget devices and htc sense phones.
Does anyone know one which will work as touch screen gaming is a bit poo
Hoping this is not a re-post

Zeemote works, even on 2.1 firmwares, but you have to buy the GamePro drivers. Here is it in action - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8y5Z_Xc7fI
On 2.2 firmwares bluetooth HID profile support is added for BT keyboards/mice, but sadly WiiMotes are still a no-go.
If your old one is a HID profile device it may well work on 2.2 firmwares.

Cheers, shall look into zeemotes. My old unit was the samsung i900 (windows mobile), and i regret selling with the pad as it looks like was compatible with gamepro. Still zeemotes seem pretty cheap so will definitely try these out.

Okay, remembered the one i had with my samsung omnia i900. It was the MSI BGP-100. This would be more ideal for me to have again as of the extra buttons (three seems a bit short on the zeemote), and originally cost me around £10 including delivery. I've noticed that since the time i had it this pad has become discontinued and i can only find a few sellers but they want £90 for it (seriously WTF! ).
So my second question is does anyone know wnywhere that still has stock of the MSI BPG-100 and selling at a reasonable price and will ship to UK or does anyone know of an equivalent that has more than three buttons?

The little Bluetooth keyboards work as game controllers with Froyo, if the game app can remap keys. I've used one with Gameboid. It's not as good as a dedicated gamepad but you get used to it.

@ DotMpeg - Yes that's the MSI pad. If you can find anywhere that sells them at a semi sensible cost and has stock please let me know. Dealextreme along all other sites i have found that still have them listed do not have stock...
@ TheBeano - Sadly not running froyo yet as the UK network providers have not released their versions quite yet (due anytime now), but when they do i'll certainly be looking into these if i still can't get hold of the old MSI pad. Either that or the temptation to debrand will grow

not used it though

Excellent find and not a bad price I'll see what i can find out about these and report back anything for other users.

Looks like the RC-100 cannot be used as a phone gamepad. Got the below message direct from manufacturer;
"The RC-100 is not a Zeemote. The RC-100 is a remote control that works over the Zigbee wireless protocol (not Bluetooth) designed to work with our line of Bioloid Humanoid Robots.
It was not designed to work with cellular phones and therefore I believe it will not serve your purpose of using it with your phone or pad."
The hunt continues...

Hunt will be over soon with CM 6.1 coming! Then we can just use our Datel Retro Wireless controllers and WiiMotes...

CM 6.1? Sounds promosing, tell me more please

I didn't read the thread properly, sorry for that. I really like the way you can wear it as a watch. It has a real screen in comparison with other bluetooth watches...

Cyanogenmod ROM 6.1, it will have a bluetooth implementation that works with WiiMotes etc.

@ hiraj_panosian - no problem. It looks nice but i can't understand why anyone would be that lazy to pull the phone outta their pocket?
@ NZtechfreak - Should have realised that CM was Cyanogen Mod Do You know if they are actually making this as a stable ROM as at present they have done nothing but experimental ones for the i9000.

Its not yet stable, they've made a lot of progress though.

Dell Streak is lucky to happily work with bluetooth keyboards (see on Engadget). For the Nexus One, I don't think this will work out of the box. The best solution I found so far is BlueInput.
Can you recommend portable keyboards and keyboard drivers? The Apple keyboard isn't so portable and affordable while BlueInput is sort of expensive.
So you mean to say that the Apple Keyboard actually works with the N1 with the BlueInput driver?
Yep http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=629416&highlight=apple+keyboard
Just to point out that that thread (that I started) is about using an apple keyboard with the "hidd" binary, not "blueinput" which I bought and found unuseable.
I'm currently using a cm6 daily and find the built-in BT-HID support to be fantastic.
...on everything except the apple keyboard (but I already knew that the apple keyboards aren't quite straight HID)
I'm currently using a slightly hacked up one of these:
http://usb.brando.com/slim-bluetooth-keyboard_p01591c034d015.html
If I were you I'd just wait for the release of cm6, it looks pretty schweet.

CM6 has Bluetooth HID keyboard support?? Coolness!
What keyboards would you recommend for that?

I am looking to buy a portable keyboard for on-the-go office document editing. This is something that is important to me, and I would rather purchase the correct peripherals then try to find a workaround for my HID keyboard.
What out of the box keyboard will "just work" with the N1? If anyone knows of a specific model that would be great. Or some guidelines. Will the SSD palm type keyboards work out of the box?
Just for those who are interested in BT keyboards but don't follow CM's bugtracker. CM6-RC2 fixes the problem with apple bluetooth keyboards. I now find myself popping it out and using my N1 to edit documents on the train (that I sync using dropbox)

wildmonk's new kernel (in the dev subforum) also has the fix for using Apple bluetooth devices. haven't had the chance to try out a bluetooth keyboard, but thinking it's all the excuse I need to buy one.
I'm looking into purchasing the Logitech DiNovo Mini Bluetooth HTPC keyboard+mouse, in a couple weeks.
Will report into this thread as soon as they arrive with hopefully a demo video to go with it.

[Q] Apple Wireless Keyboard

Hey everyone, i posted this at android central with no answer, though to see if you guys had any suggestions.
Just purchased an apple wireless keyboard to pair with my rooted (super clean + stupid fast kernel) fascinate. I've been looking around and saw that JP Bluekeyboard supports the apple wireless keyboard, so i gave it a shot..
well what do you know, it didn't work for me, everything on how to set it up goes great except that when i try and input, it goes "connecting" and straight to "disconnected".
anyone have any luck with this software or know of any other bluetooth keyboard applications?
I don't know about the Apple Keyboard, but I was trying to get my wiimote to connect to my phone and found out that our phone doesn't support some bluetooth profile that is required for it to work. It might be the same deal with the keyboard.
Bluetooth HID Profile
I did the same exact thing and after researching found that the bluetooth stack in the galaxy s series is a little different in that it doesn't include HID profile support aka no support for the wiimote or the apple blue tooth keyboard. Apparently they are looking to add this with the froyo update, but for me it couldn't come sooner.
yeah, i remember reading something saying cyanogenmod would enable HID, and of course cyanogenmod is based for froyo, and they don't seem to be willing to start working on something for the fascinate until froyo comes out...
so lets hope froyo makes this purchase not completely useless..
HURRY UP FROYO!
The apple keyboard and the Wii mote will work with froyo, I had no problem using the keyboard on my Dx before I sent it back.

I wasn't able to get it to work either.
It was on-and-off again with my Windows PC. I found that the Apple USB keyboard is perfect for Windows. My wife bought me the Apple Bluetooth keyboard instead last Christmas, but it, sadly, doesn't work on anything that I own.
I definitely want to know if any of y'all get it to work. I was planning to keep trying, but based on the information here, it appears that my time would be better used somewhere else for now.

[Q] Can you all point me to a Reliable Fast and Supported Tablet?

So after the past week or so i have done some casual research. Looking thru various sites getting some not so reliable feedback i figured i would just ask at the top.... And i dont know why i didnt in the first place..
I am looking to get a Android Tablet when taxes come. Something not to expensive but not a cheap piece of junk either.
I am looking for something reliable, fast good graphics, a decent camera if possible certianly gps, wifi, bluetooth. I would like to dock it in my car for its Gps potential, and for movies and certianly its music capabilities (like power amp) and pandora last fm ect. I figured i would tether it to my Droid 2, and no i wont be watching movies on it thats more for my wife, friends ect.
I would defenatly want it to have the android market on it, wether i have to put it on there myself or if it was stock. I want to be able to play games like angry bird or whatever. Not just simple low end games but the potentintal to play anything i might want to..
And lastley i would like something that defenatly has some community backbone to it. Something that has been rooted, that people know and i can get reliable support on. I dont want to be running 1.6 on it it has to be like 2.0 or 2.2 and i can upgrade it. Something that runs really smoothly and has at least one decent rom.
I see some of these people who bought cheap tablets off ebay from Hong Kong or whatever and there having to scour the net just to find out what excatly it is called.. I dont really wana do that lol.
If i can find it locally great! If i got to order it off the net then so be it. I just want something that is open, reliale, smooth, fast and has some support behind it...
Sorry if this is the wrong section i looked for a overall tablet form but couldnt find one on XDA and i didnt want to post in every forum. If you have anylinks or even one u are thinking about buying like a link let me know id love to check it out!
Thanks Everyone!
Dude, get a NookColor! $249, supported in ROM Manager, and I'm sure soon to have full ROMs released..
It doesn't have a camera (but your Droid 2 does...) so that might be a deal breaker. It's not a tablet, it's an e-reader, but it's a neat little thing. I can't wait to see the development take off.
Other than that, the Motorola Xoom looks promising, but it's currently unreleased.
-pd
I would recommend the nook Color as well except for the fact that it is lacking a GPS. Therefore it does not fit into the car model. I have one for my son and it is a nice device.
The gps is kind of a nessisity for me, i could give up the camera but im stuck with the gps. But the nook or nook color is out for me. I see it as lacking later on because of its processor and it wasent built to be a tablet. I want something that will ride out for a few years if possible. It needs a 1 ghz prosessor and sufficent ram. And i got to have 2.2+ on it. And 7 inch minumum. Thank you for the suggestion thus far though
Consider the Archos 101 or 70.
Pretty sure it has everything.
There is a forum for it here too.
as far as I know no tablet meets your demands ( 1ghz/2.2/lotso ram/etc) probably best shot at the moment is a flytouch II from lightinthebox ...
10", decent rom support coming together, inbuilt gps, 2 cardslots for storage, android 2.1 with kernel 2.6.32.9 once you upgrade/update it to v1568 firmware.
another OEM provider promised 2.2 was going to be out last weekend but havent seen anything filtering out as of yet

Actually, Archos already has 2.2 with 1ghz
http://www.archos.com/products/ta/archos_101it/specs.html?country=ca&lang=en
The RAM is not listed on that page but it would be easy to find out.
I'm just stepping out.
And there seems to be a GPS solution here http://forum.archosfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=37910
Sry... what I meant was I want to run the most uptodate firmware I can so im kosher with 2.1 what im hoping to avoid is where I have seen a lot of them running 1.6. I've been thinking about archos but I just haven't heardb from anyone who ones a archos or a flytouch.. I would defenatly like to hear experiences... thanks again everyone
Sent from my DROID2 using Tapatalk
Also and i forgot to mention it.. It has to have a Capacitive and Multitouch screen like my Droid X or Droid 2.... Does that FlyTouch have that? cause i cant seem to find any information pertaining to that.
no flytouch2 is not multitouch but otherwise i am more than happy with mine, best €130 ish i've ever spent

Wiimote compatible?

Can anyone test to see if this works on the G2x? I would like to know as I would like to be able to use other controllers besides touch screen.
I would test myself but I don't currently have this phone but thinking on getting it.
http://www.appbrain.com/app/wiimote-controller/com.ccpcreations.android.WiiUseAndroid
Downloading it now.
Emulators + HDMI mirroring is one of the big reasons I got this phone.
Well, we know the O2x doesn't support it. I wouldnt be surprised if the bluetooth stack is similarly boned on the G2x, despite stock android.
Even if the G2x doesnt support it out of the box, there may be hope that cyanogen will support it in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to test it though sad to hear it doesn't support it.
yeah those two issues are quite disappointing. maybe cyanogen can fix them :S
i'm thinking i will just stick with my n1 for now
I'd like to add the JS1 Zeemote also is not working. I had it working on N1. The Bluetooth connects but when I exit bluetooth settings it disconnects. I'm also using Bluezime so android can detect Bluetooth controller

Doesn't work for me either. This is highly upsetting to say the least. One of the biggest things I wanted to do with this phone was play Super Mario World hacks through HDMI with a wiimote. Oh well, phone is still a keeper easy. Hope it gets fixed.
Hey did anyone ever get a PS3 controller working with the N1?
zeemote works fine for me.
but i also can't connect to a wiimote.

Awesome the 10 dollar one
Next question
does anyone know if the Wii remote problem is a hardware or software issue ?
because if it is software (Drivers) now that LG released all the source codes for this device, to should be easy for a developer to fix.
assuming we get any other developers then that CM7 dude to buy this phone
BUT CM7 and zeemote might be enough
it's because several phones(mostly touchwiz/sense phones, and LG phones) use non-standard bluetooth drivers.
replacing those with standard ones would fix it, but it's not as easy as switching a few files.

How would you use this for a emulator their is only like 3 buttons on it

[Q] Wireless Keyboard/Mouse combo?

Hi there,
Did a quick search like I am supposed to but didnt find the answer I was looking for. A quick search on our favourite online auction site and there are several listings from Honk Kong for a wireless keyboard/mouse (built in tracker ball) and it says that it is compatible with Xoom Wifi that I have. I doesnt say whether its bluetooth or wifi based as Im sure only the bluetooth would be of any use to me. It only states that the frequency is 2.4G but Im sure that some/all bluetooth devices use this frequency. Anyway, I have asked the seller to confirm how it connects and am awaiting a response. Was just wondering if anyone on here has tried one and if it works or not? Thanks in advance.

I would be very skeptical of electronics coming from Hong Kong. In case you were not aware of this, Motorola does actually make a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse for the xoom. If you do a quick search on eBay for "xoom mouse", you will see several auctions with the combo for less than $60. Just my opinion, but I would rather spend a little more money on something that was not only tested with, but design for my device by the same manufacturer, especially when a little more money is only $60. I also looked at Moto's website and the keyboard is listed at only $40, didn't see the mouse. Here is a link to the keyboard:

You can get the keyboard for cheap at Best Buy. I belive it will cost $20.
I use an Apple Mighty Keyboard.
If you have a Android phone there are mouse apps in the Market in which you could use your phone as a mouse.

Hi there,
Cheers for the input and advice. I had a look on ebay for the official Moto keyboard and mouse set and couldt find any for the $60 price you mentioned. I am UK based aswell so would require the UK model aand not the US key layout. The cheapest I could find from a UK seller was around £85 which seemed a little steep. I would ofcourse prefer the official products for my Xoom and unfortunately Best Buy are shutting up shop in the UK and they dont have any in stock.
Thats why I was just checking to see if anyone had tried the product I mentioned. Ill keep looking and see if I can find the official UK set at a better price. Thanks again.
