International MojiWeather translation? - Android Apps and Games

Has MojiWeather been translated? It looks really nice and I'd love to use it. The other problem is that it only shows information for Chinese areas. Has it ever been fixed for Android?

*Help* Thinking of buying a Vox for the wife, are they any good !

Hi, I'm thinking of buying a Vox to replace my trouble & strifes crappy N73.
I've been using PPC's for a few years so know them quite well but I don't know how simular the smartphone version is to tweak & if it will run any of the common softwares for the ppc.
I need to have a Thai keyboard & font installed as well as the Standard which in this case will be English. I can do this easily on a PPC but what about a smartphone ?
Can we create custom shortcuts/icons and what PPC softwares will run on the smartphone if any ?
Finally how stable is this device & is the speed a pain due to that weazy Omap 850 ? Any alternative choices would also be great.
Thanks.
Vox is a great little device.
Stable, full of options and now a step before seeing its cooked roms (let's hope).
On the other hand... I don't know your wife and please don't take it badly but, does she really need one?
I mean, except for the fact to handle Thai and English at the same time and popular software... I guess many other Smartphones would do the job.
I say that because a MS Smartphone is always trying to be more "Smart" than "Phone", while a N73 or any other NSeries (for example) will always be more "Phone" than "Smart" even tough they could have the same capabilities.
I'm pretty happy with my Vox. It's pretty slow compared to my previous Excalibur with WM6 but still... It's a good phone. Maybe an update will fix the slowness, nothing explains why an Excalibur with same CPU is faster so a solution must be there.
Would I recommend it to somebody just looking for a Smartphone... Well... If this person is really looking for a phone with keyboard, then yes, otherwise... A N80 from Ebay is ways cheaper and would do the job. Loads of software, easy to handle... Etc...
Why do I say this? Well, guess who bought a Wizard to his wife and sees the only thing she enjoys is the keyboard to send mails and SMS... My fault, it's not a toy for her...
Ka.
VOX is easy to use ... i know it!
i have gave some VOX to some assistence in my work and they can handle it! better then the PPC versions. for women are usefull programs on the wild ... womenizer LOL

She can get by with a nokia or SE but this would seem to be a perfect balance between phone & PDA for her.
The main thing is second langauge input for these things.
She has been using my old HTC Prophet which I installed with Thai font & a SIP Thai keyboard. How do I install asian langauges to a smartphone ? anyone here done this ?
I have installed a cab I got from a Thread on Modaco which provides several T9 languages. Unfortunately Thai is not included. I bet it must exist, in case I find one I'll tell you right away.
Ka.
I spotted that t9 languages cab, I suppose in time people will add more languages.
Dopod do a dual Language for English/Chinese but nothing for Thai yet !
I'll keep looking.
Thanks for your help.
Mr B.
I found an article where somebody describes how to build your own Thai files.
It's for another phone (Still MS but other OS version) I'll see if something can be made out of it.

i ve found the cab extract from sfr rom
i can install it but i can t use it...
Thanks I will give it a try
mYspike is another Ebay-app. Its avaiable in german, I dont know if an english translation exists. Also, its not fingerfriendly, but useable on my hd2. Works nearly perfect.
I find wap.ebay.co.uk works really well. Plus you don't have another app hogging precious memory.

hey good idea, but it wont be too much memory, especially since I have the USA HD2 with 1gb ROM ... but you still do have a good point I will just put that site as a bookmark on the internet tab and it will be similar to having an app....

Antialiasing / "Cleartype" in Android

Is there a way to enable global antialiasing or font antialiasing in Android? Text looks pretty rough on my new Samsung Galaxy S and I'm pretty sure that the hardware in this thing is more than capable of doing some AA.
I am wondering the same thing, the HTC Wildfire has the same problem. "Cleartype" would be a very good solution. Maybe that in a next Android version it will be implented, because there are more phones coming with smaller resolutions, like the Xperia mini.
i have the same problem in my GT-5800,i need help...
That would be great!

[Q] Buying a Docomo SH-01D

Need advise on getting a Docomo Sharp Aquos Sh-01D.
Does anyone have any experience in using a Docomo phone ? I'm have the following concern:
1. Will I be able to get any updates if I'm using the phone outside Japan when I'm using another Telco sim card ?
2. Generally does it comes with built-in English GUI support ?
3. Does it support other language like Chinese ? If not can I get any chinese pack installed ?
I'm attracted to the design of the phone and thus I have got someone who is traveling in Japan to buy on my behalf.
Need some advise; and this is going to be my first android device.
Docomo smartphone question
Hi hagenuk
1. Will I be able to get any updates if I'm using the phone outside Japan when I'm using another Telco sim card ?
For updates, you can use wifi connection. If you are using other telco sim it might be possible but I cannot you give any guarantee. With wifi it is most of the cases.
2. Generally does it comes with built-in English GUI support ? Yes Japanese Phones nowadays are with English GUI. Most of the time Japanese and English are available and other languages for some models like Xperia and galaxy's.
3. Does it support other language like Chinese ? If not can I get any chinese pack installed ? With Xperia models definitely yes but other models
most likely not. With android you can purchase language pack for Chinese. Because in my case with non Japanese Android phone, I can install Japanese language support like atok from market.
for Q3.
I've tried install morelocale
And it doesn't get full chinese GUI
But in some app which support chinese(eg.google+/gmail), they can display chinese.

Same with T01d, the settings is still in default language.
for Q1:
If it's a software update you must be in Japan with a ntt docomo sim card to update.
If it's a major update you must first have your phone updated to the latest version before you update using wifi or PC, i.e. software update (if ever exists) is a prerequisite of a major update. Changing proxy as on SH-12C might work but who knows.
hi i just got this device for my bro in Singapore
Its great and all the hardware features easily knocks competition out of the way. Its fully software unlock means any sim card can be used and data / 3G / WIFI / tethering all fully working. My bro using it in english not sure about Chinese.
Only disadvantages are I feel is during gaming the phone heats up (due to duo core and its amazingly thin design its brightness would be forced lowered to reduce temperature but other than that not problems. it will not force restart like what those folks are experiencing with the LG optimus 2x ) Battery drains super fast hahas (might want to consider the optional 2500mhz battery ). But I play Dead Space on it a graphics intensive game its awesome. Also I dun think anyone on xda is developing this device so it might be hard to get it rooted. But who cares!! its great!!!
PS: If its really hot you can do this watch the video

Yeah, it does heat up! It takes about 25 minutes playing a graphics intensive game (I was playing The Last Defender HD) for it to start getting very hot. And the game sometimes hangs or gets choppy.

Playing any game or browsing drains the battery amazingly quickly. I think it's more than 15% in 30 minutes.
Hi all!
How about changing proxy? I need to check if there's an update.
Phone reboots like 3-4 times a day and receives text messages late...
Maybe there's some updates that can fix it...

Kappa
PS: i've already tried to wipe it, but persist. I buyed it in Akihabara and made the unlock with a Japanese friend in a NTT Docomo shop...
Hey:
I can totally relate to you. I love the Docomo design.
However, IF you live anywhere besides Asia, I would actually not recommend purchasing it.
I lived in Beijing for a year and I bought the phone. I used it there for a few months then came back to the States. Back home in Colorado, the thing is just for looks. The phone would constantly lose connection; I had to keep CPR-ing it everytime it hit a place with low signal. A lot of the programs, cool quirks of the phone is disabled anywhere outside of Japan. You can basically just do the simple text and call. It may have improved now, but I wasn't even able to connect online with the phone.
Yes, you can get Chinese installed. My phone had Japanese, English, Trad. Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
If the price was not so high ($500+), I would've be more inclined to suggest you buy it.. I mean, their designs are gorgeous. BUT... Personal experience, my phone was priceeeey and I used it for no more than 3 months before I finally forfeited and used an ugly Tmobile phone.
Just my two cents; let me know what you decide either way!
