[Q] Smartphone Wish list - General Topics

I'm just hoping that the Moderators will move the below link to this thread as it is here it belongs. But wondered what you guys think on the subject.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801321

The other thread is or has been moved to the same section "General Discussion".
I will reply on the other thread.

Q&A section? Mod, please reply.

I want to start this thread by saying that I respect the mods in this forum, but I've got this question. There are a few sections for each phone at XDA; one of them is a General section, the other is Q&A.
More than half of initial threads start with a question, so why aren't the all moved to Q&A? And if this is the case, why bother having a General section anyway? This is a place to ask questions and receive answers and because most people spend their time between the General and Development sections, Q&A is overlooked many times.
I'm unhappy about having a legitimate question moved to the Q&A section, and that is my reason for starting this thread. I'd appreciate a mod replying and making the difference between the two threads clear. Thanks.
the Q&A section is the place to ask question.
that's is what it is designed for
all high volume sections have the Q&A section to keep Discussions/News and other important matters in General from Questions
You can still post to General as long as the Subject is not a question and the content is not a question, but rather some sort of statement with supporting facts, or leads, or an issue, and screen captures helps a lot in the discussion.
and for the record the Q&A section does work, else this would have not been seen

If your thread title starts with [Q] It belongs in the Q and A section

I didnt want to post this in any particular thread because i dont want to flame on anybody, but if your thread is a question about functionality, it does not belong in the general section. Please post things where they belong to help keep the place tidy. This sections should be for general discussion, not really troubleshooting. Thanks guys.
I have thought this (or similar things) over the last few days. More and more people seem to be posting very similar threads, and repeating questions that have been already asked (& answered) - not to mention threads that don't really seem to have a purpose.
As a fellow noob, I suggest that we don't clutter up the board with duplicate issues and things posted in the wrong forum. I don't want to wear out our welcome. We need xda!
Is there an easy way to move a thread if you have already posted it in general rather than Q&A?
I don't know if it's the same here, but at most boards I'm on you can ask someone to report your post and leave a message requesting that the thread be moved by the mod.
Usually you can't report your own posts, is why you have to ask someone else.
I'm bumping this so it hits the top again.

Forum Rules

So I went to go reply to a post and help someone in one of the development sections and notice I could not due to my post count. Then I checked to see if there was an introduction area to say hi in. Nope. So I looked for forum rules to find where I could go to raise my post count. No forum rules. Huh. Q&A section, I think I'll go ask where the forum rules are. Noticed the sticky and read the Q&A sticky. Oh great! A link to forum rules. Too bad it links to HTC Hero CDMA section with some post about a windows phone 7 app. Okay, time to post and let you guys know the forum rules are missing. *Goes to start thread* Search box pops up with the forum rules. It works. Finally. Now I have a real question: Why was that so hard?
EDIT: Browsing a little further, I have found several "forum rules". Hmm. Which one is "THE" forum rules? Any chance of consolidating them? I'm going to assume the one in Announcements is the most up-to-date.
EDIT 2: I just realized that to the inexperienced, the title of this thread may imply that these are the forum rules. THEY ARE NOT. Find them here.

Please post help and troubleshooting requests in the Q&A section

Please post help and troubleshooting requests in the Q&A section
Here are some general guidelines on where posts should be created:
- If the question involves a help or troubleshooting request that benefits the OP directly, post in Q&A.
- If the question is open-ended and intended to generate a general discussion on some topic, post in General.
There's a large grey area, but use your best common sense judgement to decide where to put the post. All misplaced posts will be moved accordingly.
Please read the forum rules. They are done to improve XDA-developers.com and for you to get the best of this great community. Not following this rules you show disrespect to any other member.

Question & Answer section is not a place where everyone can open a new thread with the own question. It is needed to search before, read the sticky threads, read the wikis, read and read once again, and post in an existing thread, if necessary. Repetitive topics will be deleted/closed without previous notice. Topics like 'urgent help' or 'do I brick my phone?' and so will be deleted/closed. Infractions issued to reiterative members. Remember XDA-Developers.com is about development. Thanks for your cooperation. Best regards,

AOSP?
