are you plugged in to your computer? that will cause root explorer to force close oftentimes.
Try the guide here called pimp my captivate
Sent from my Samsung Captivate using XDA app
its the market app thats force closing not root explorer . root explorer is the app i used to delete the file donwloadprovider.apk which is why market app is force closing .

[Q] Installation error of fixed Google Videos app [SOLVED]

I am having some trouble installing the Google Videos app from SDX that was fixed to work on rooted devices. It installed just fine on my DX, however that didn't actually have the GV app on there yet. The Xoom has a version of the GV app, so it won't let me install it through the normal means. However, I cannot find the com.google.android.videos.apk file to replace. I tried removing the Videos.apk file, but of course that didn't work. Can someone please point me in the right direction as to how to get the fixed GV app on to the Xoom?

Nevermind, it required me deleting the Videos.apk currently on the Xoom (or renaming it) and then rebooting the device. After the reboot, I was able to install the apk just fine.

I had to restore my previous version from TB because I just kept getting FCs when I tried to run it.

accidentialy deleted market

I accidentally deleted the android market app.
First the app flashes on and off, so I try to delete the whole thing, but now I can't install it back. I tried different vending.apk, I got the install progress bar, but at the end I got the error that the app isn't installed.
I also find it strange that (before i install the .apk) i got the notice that this .apk will change the current installed app. It's quite strange because in the app list I can't find the market app.
Can anyone help me with this?
I got sony ericsson Xperia X10 mini, rooted, version 2.1.
Using root explorer/es file explorer go into root directory system/apps and see if the market.apk is located there , try deleting it if present and restart the phone. Then install the vending apk and hopefully it should be a fresh install and not over writing the previous market installed.Hope this helps.
