Hey guys. It seems like in the thread merging of the various theme threads, the white taskbar that I used to be able to find for 2.1 has gone missing. If anyone has it, could they post it up here? It's the white one that looks exactly like vanilla... I don't mind if it has 3G text or EvDo text either.
EDIT
I should mention that this is regarding Damage Control or Fresh... not Legend roms.

Don't know if this is the one you are looking for or not. It contains more than just the taskbar, but you can certainly use as a starting point / modify accordingly.

Aaah you found it!! Thanks I can just remove the launcher and stuff from it. Thanks again!
EDIT
Do I have your permission to use it in a ROM that I'll put out eventually?

Of course you do. Fire away...
I was wondering if there is a way to reverse icon colors in the status bar. I just downloaded a black status bar and a lot of the icons blend into the black bar (if that makes sense).
If anyone can help me out, thanks. I don't know anything at all about coding and very little about the root process, so a Metamorph option would be the easiest way for me, although I can figure out theming.

I saw those. I wasn't quite sure if it changes the Messaging, Gmail, Voice and other icons since all I see is the USB and USB Tethering icons. Do you know if those are changed?
Haven´t checked that...best, open file and have a look before you morph.

Wow that is a great idea. I never thought of that haha (still brand new to this stuff). Well, unfortunately it doesn't have icons for Messaging, Gmail and a few others. Thanks for the idea though. Now I know I can check.
Any other ideas?
Anyone know of anything else to do?
Shameless bump because I really want this.
There is a desire morph around somewhere, locate the files or images you want and I can make a morph, just need to know what rom and icons.
Also bumping. Now that CM has theming, I think someone should have one out.
Use ninja morph and inverse the images u want in framework-res.apk ...really easy
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Made this one a while back...

I checked out ninja morph. You're right, it does exactly what you said...EXCEPT you have to modify every icon individually, which ends up being an enormous pain.
Also, I could have missed something but how do you inverse icons directly on the phone? I looked around and still couldnt find anything. Ended up transfering them to the pc and editing them from there.
In the end, I'm just amazed that android doesn't have a unified icon / theming system yet. To edit messages, you have to go in to mms.apk (took me forever to figure that one out), to edit gmail you have to look in gmail.apk, system icons were in framework, etc. What a pain.
I asked this thread on reddit, didn't have much luck, thought maybe someone here would know.
I've got a 2.1 GT-i9000m (Vibrant) and a 2.2 Tab, both under Bell.
The GT-i9000m has black menus with white text, the Tab has white menus with black text, is there any setting I can change without root, or flashing, to change this?
This is really the only issue I've got with my tab.
Thanks for reading.

What are you saying? That you want black menus with white text on your tab?
As far as I'm aware you can't change that without rooting, it's part of the frameworks.
As alias said, its not possible without rooting, unless Samsung change it themselves and push an update for it.

You changed very few things from my theme... A link to it or mentioning my name would be nice... Even the theme's name is similar... :/
I don't want to discourage you from theming but I spent a lot of time making all of those icons.
I updated mine recently too, and will continue to. Check my sig...

I wouldn't mind if you use all of the buttons & status bar background, or just certain icons in the status bar, or just the dialer, etc. using pieces from other themes is how we all get started.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
Hi a question...can you give me a link (how tu make custom Icons) and how i change the background in button Menu/ SemcContact or Mediascape?? Look attachment. pleas tell me???

thought id try help.. been a while since ive used 2.1 though! lol (this was like the early 2.1 update we first got before all the roms came out)
1) i reckon the menu button background thing is most likely lurking in framework-res.apk in res/drawable-hdpi folder.
2) the background from the launcher is probably in launcher.apk somewhere although i used to use adw launcher so never really looked into that.
3) as for mediascape background it should be in mediascape.apk although im sure theres some background in there maybe from playlist section or something else where theres a separate background file. cant remember in which apk ul find it but i think it was along the lines of the timescape or framework-res apk's!
some help i am lol sorry.. but if ya wanna look at the old work i had and maybe figure something out then feel free to do so. link should be in signature below if needed!
hope it helps!! good luck
why is it so hard? i spent the last 2 hours searching, i have found many links to .apks and a couple of zips, MOST of them either dont work anymore, are old versions, or have stupid GREY text on black background thats rediculously hard to read.
then there are a few that looked promising but say "not installed" when i run them.
does anyone know of a .apk gmail with WHITE WHITE WHITE text? i would be oh so greatful!

Not without editing the whole rom as the text color codes are not all contained within the gmail apk. I have been working on a rom and still cant find some of the black text. To change the color for the text are over 50 xml edits not to mention the smali edits needed.

Or do what I did when I started. Find the thing that ticks you off the most in your case the gmail text and learn to find it and fix it. With time and great searchfu nothing is impossible. The great thing about android is you can. It may not be easy but things that are worth it never are lol. Never know you might be the next great themer if you have a mind to it. Good luck in your search
