i am wanting to get a mate 30 pro and of course install google services on it...
in almost every video tutorial i saw whether its the mate 30 pro or the mate 30 or the p40 the GSF ID is always the same.
the GSF ID is supposed to be unique to every device yet in these videos they are all the same (see below the two i got from videos).
so in essense 100's if not 1000's of people using the restore method are using the same GSF ID? isnt that dangerous to the google play account its lined to?
I am also curious whether this has to do with the backup we're restoring to the phone.
Also, i am spooked by the big G application. who knows what backdoor it maybe opening?

The big G is the lz play exploit app. I used it to get GMS on my mate 30 Pro last year when it was still an easy fix. I have noticed nothing but I did uninstall it after the fix. Not sure about the most recent fixes? As for the G Id, this could be something like one of Microsoft bulk licensing where one product Id is put on loads of the same PCs ( Dell, HPs etc), not sure but could be something like that? It is obviously from a working account that has been backed up though and copied. But if you need to use GMS, then there is not much choice really.
Is there a working option without crutches now?

Thanks for the reply.
I understand your explanation but as i read about the GSF ID its like a car license number or rather a serial # for a device. this ID could be tied to your google account or rather device serial #.
I now understand why when installing and uninstalling the framework you have to keep retrying to get the ID back...i think its a hole in the google system where it just gives up and assigns it to you.
I dont know. I feel this is dangerous that all of us are sharing one GSF ID from a backup.
If the device was able to be rooted you can generate a new one.
i am sure the people that generated this backup had rooted their device because when the device first launched there was a service to unlock the bootloader. now its no more.
this is the article i am talking about that concerns the GSF ID:

they are probably using the methods everyone is using, putting the phone back in the box and shipping it. i see no other solution. unless root and thats not possible since bootloader unlock services for the device has stopped.
That was how my mate 30 Pro arrived but I reset it and used the lzplay method when it worked back then myself for the sake of it. Good read above, I think we will have to wait a while to see what happens next.

I think we should no longer hope that the USA will grant Google the authorization to work with Huawei seen the tensions between China and the US and the Covid-19 story. I have google spy services up and running since late last year and have no issue, granted my use of google apps is very limited. If we have a backdoor installed through lzplay we will never know but if you have google, wattsapp, fakebook etc installed you can be sure you will be tracked, profiled in one way or the other. That is a fact.

So your suggestions... to get rid of Google in order not to be tracked?
the average consumer has no clue of what lzplay is doing. its the most dangerous app out there using the MDM technique (mentioned above).
today at the mall i saw a girl representative for a reseller company in my country for huawei products and she had it installed.
i warned her and told her she committed a mistake but ppl see their phones working fine and dont worry about it. you wont know if the app is sending or stealing your data...(Well, actually, you can install a firewall app and track which apps are sending data to what destination - thats one way that came to my mind)
The issue remains is: We dont know who created lzplay and made a website and made the app. thats the scary part.
Now, another perception of this could be the following:
MAYBE, just maybe the lzplay was released by huawei themselves and if so then we need not worry. i mean we run on their operating system. they would have no interest in stealing data. they can already do that ...
This is being optimistic and thinking this maybe a fact.
i, myself will not venture into this and wont attempt it. Almost all apps work fine except for one thing: Games that rely on Google play games will fail without having the GMS files installed.
I dont play games so its not a big deal for me.
besides, most games now-a-days give you the option of logging in with facebook or google play games. select facebook and you'll be fine.

I understand your concerns and it is very valid. Over the last 4 months of usage, I have not notice any unauthorised data being sent. I had a filewall installed for removed it just a couple of weeks back.
But again, I can't be 100% sure.

I just do a full reset of my phone with GMS trying only using HMS. So far it's easy with phone clone and Aurora store. The only thing I miss are the notifications from Google and Twitter, but everything else is working perfect.
If you guys have specific questions concerning the GSF ID, I'd be happy to answer them. I'm the author of the aforementioned blog post, as well as several tools that deal with Google Play Services (in case you don't have/want them on your phone).

Is there a way to change de GSF ID of the phone manually? For example give the GSF ID of a Samsung device that works with FCM to a Mate 30 Pro, so that the Mate 30 Pro won't have the notifications issue when GSM are installed.
Or go back to a GSF ID that works perfectly and by mistake the phone's memory has been wiped and now the GSF ID doesn't work to receive FCM notifications.

You are not suppose to change it manually. However, you can always request a new one by clearing the cache of the market app. The GSF ID is kept in that apps database, so if you wanted to change it manually, you'd have to install the android platform tools, use ADB to pull the file (root required), use sqlite3 to make the changes (the key is called "android_id", not GSF ID for legacy reasons), then push the file back to the device. Reboot afterwards.

I used the Windows tools above to change the GSF ID of my un-rooted Samsung Galaxy A325G, and they worked fine... but does anyone know how the new GSFID was determined?
Is it random?
EDIT: I might be able to figure out how it's generated using "Dummy Droid".
[Tool] DummyDroid - GSF ID generator
Dummy Droid is a mainly a companion tool for the Raccoon APK Downloader . It allows you to create hardware profiles for arbitrary Android devices and upload them into your Google Play account, generating a new GSF ID in the process.
Mocks can either be generated by probing an existing device via ADB or be completely made up from scratch. You (may) need this tool if Google Play won't give you access to an app because of device incompatibilities, country or carrier restrictions. You (may) also need this tool if you are an app developer yourself and want to test compatibility filter settings without actually owning the target device.

kindly help me
thanks in advance

Hello guys... Since September 11, I'm trying to install the Google services in my Mate 30 Pro. I had already the apps installed (since 2019) and I was intented to give this phone to my mom, and, as I bought another phone for me, I reseted my LIO-L29. There's where the nightmare starts. I think I have tried almost (if not all) tutorials, packs of files, procedures, downgrades, and everything that I know, and what I didn't know (what I learned this 3 days).
Resuming, I don't know anymore what to do. The phone was in version 10.0.1.240, downgraded to 10.0.0.157, but no success anyway.
Anyone had tried some procedure in last days, and worked?
All procedures fail in some part, almost all, at add de Google account, when you "froze" in the sign in page and install the Google service framework, the phone should back after that with the Google account logged in, but no success.
Please, if someone can help me, I will VERY GRATEFUL.
Thanks

Even without GMS its a great device, just have to accept that there is life besides google.
I am lucky that I have GMS on my device since November last year, I have no problems but than again I use very few google dependent apps on the 30pro.
I tried every method posted here and on the internet.. but even though I installed google play store, I was never able to connect to my google account. Right now google has severed the sign-in process.. The only method that worked for me was installing a Virtual Machine in my phone.
here the link if you want to try it. Good luck!
So (as of today and 20/09/20) you can not install google services on mate 30 pro ??
That's bad, I just bought this phone today .....
With Last micro g version, I could again sign in YouTube vanced
Hey peeps. 3 weeks and countless hours - that was how long it took for me to get GSM into my new machine and getting it to behave as it should. Turned out the first most basic method, dated July 2020, worked. Read in many forums that this machine, regardless of EMUI version, could not resolve the Play Protect issue, but for some miraculously reason, mine worked. So just to be safe, I used the machine for about a week for everything except activities which needed SIM, i.e. calls and line-dependent texts. Banking, work emails and platforms (including all firewall and security protocols), games and apps including those which require my Gmail account, wired/wireless connection both incoming and outgoing - all was working as it should throughout the week.
Then when it came to officially switching over the last remaining part, i.e. cloning over data (mostly texts, phone book, call records and stored media) from the old over to the new, using Huawei's Phone Clone app. So I was careful not to select any apps to clone (the first attempt I blindly clone the whole machine content without customizing which caused GSM to start acting up with the notification & Play Protect issues the minute the process completed, then it was back to square 1 restarting the entire process), so I 2nd attempt I only selected texts, directory, call history and media to be cloned over. Did not even pick anything which is remotely associated with any app, e.g. Whatsapp media where left behind worried that the issues would resurface.
Unfortunately, to my despair, 2nd attempt concluded the same with the 1st, i.e. GSM is no longer Play Protect - aside from notifications, which I can easily ignore, more importantly is my banking, work and Gmail-linked games/apps are as good as dead. So at this point I am at wit's end on how to get my records and stuff migrated over. Of course I could resort to traditional approach of uploading into Cloud and/or OTG/Hisuite sync, but troublesome and wouldn't be seamless or complete.
So wanted to check with the community here, if anyone on any Huawei devices (since GSM is properly in place already, this issue on data migration would not be device-dependent) have any similar issues in the past and managed to uncover alternative methods to get this done. Worse case scenario, will have to resort to the conventional methods, though not ideal but not left with much choice now that my P20 Pro is nearing its shelf life.
Thanking all in advance for reading and/or responding with any viable recommendations. And apologizing in advance for the long-winded post and/or if there was already a similar thread in the past on the same subject which I may have missed.
Cheers,
-K-
Hi there,
did you ever got over this?

Yup, finally got over this after countless attempt. End up phone-cloning just the media only, nothing else. Apps were reinstalled one by one on the new machine, messaging history and phone book via cloud, phone history unfortunately can't be migrated. Avoid signing in to Huawei account, tho it's easier to use that service to copy stuff over. With that, everything in order and GMS remained intact and behaving as it should - its been 4 weeks now since officially moved over to my new Mate 30 Pro 5G with a fully-functioning GMS/Playstore which is Google Pay Protect certified.

Hi you said you had Google Pay Protect Certified? Is that meant you can use your phone for contactless pay like the pay wave in Visa?
If it is the case, how you installed your GMS? I got GMS installed but horrible delay of Gmail notification and don't have the Google pay protect certified therefore couldn't use contactless pay in my phone. Otherwise work okay.
Hi,
I purchased a new phone a Motorola Edge S (hardware SKU XT2125-4), unfortunately it is a China ROM phone which means it didn't come with Google play store. This was side loaded and I am able to install apps from google. But I have SO many issues with this and I am hoping someone has something helpful to actually use this phone
1. When I try to use Google setup a nearby device (to transfer everything over to this phone), it simply can't find my new phone (despite having bluetooth and location on for both phones
2. I can't restore contacts from google drive even though I can connect
3. I downloaded the MAGISK app, however the file browser is unable to install as the app is not allowed. The toggle to trust the app can not be changed.
I am at a loss as to how to actually use this phone as essentially it's useless at the moment. Any help would be appreciated.
It is already running Android Version 11
Baseband version M55_HI20_209.334.01.60R NIO_PVT_SUPERSDS_CUST
Kernel Version 4.19.136-perf+
Build Number RRN31.Q1-20-17-6
I can provide any / all other information if needed
If the solution is to root the phone, I'm ok with that too, but see point 3.
I'm in the same situation. Purchased the XT2125 as well. Got the Google stuff working by side loading the play store, services and framework. However, initially, while everything else was working, the contacts wouldn't sync. After a few hours of searching, finally came across an article which said that I also needed to side load an apk called google contacts sync and give it permission. Contacts started syncing after that. Fast forward a couple of days and a system update later, SMS are delivered with really long delays and outbound ones fail. Google maps crashes constantly and navigation just doesn't work. I don't know what to do with this phone now honestly, since I need Google maps navigation on a regular basis. Have tried reinstalling maps, resetting permissions, clearing cache and data but nothing seems to work. And with the SMS delay, I can't sign on our complete transactions on a lot of apps because the SMS usually arrives after such a delay that the code has expired. Feels like such a waste of money this phone even though it's supposed to be great bang for the buck.
I am hopeful that when they release the Moto G100 (same phone actually), that we will be able to flash it with this ROM to make it usable.

Yeah, I think it's being released in a couple of days. Anyway, I did a factory reset and the maps issues sorted out. Had to go through the pain of sideloading google again but the device is being shown as google play certified, but yeah, would be nice to just have the international rom on it.
Were you able to make any headway with your device? I didn't put a sim in mine but the rest of it seems to be working ok, except Youtube Vanced isn't signing in with a google account.
Hello guys!
Sorry if someone already posted this but I can't find any relevant information that could help me. Been looking through all this info, but nothing that can help me achieve what I want...
Just got myself a new P50 Pro. I unboxed the phone and I find it really amazing in terms of camera (OMG) and OS speed. Next step I tried installing something to make the phone close to something that's running Google Services.
I've heard of GSpace... Ok, I've installed it, but never been more dissapointed in my entire life.
It seems that the apps are somehow locked inside the GSpace app (like a virtual machine in Windows), so the apps take a while to load, but the worst thing possible is that the apps have ads inside them.
I mean try to open Facebook, Chrome or something and an ad pops right in your face.
I've done a full format of the phone right away, and now I'm asking you guys for a solution to bring Google Services somehow more natural to it's original state...
Can I do this, or can I sell the phone, cause I'm 100% sure, I can't live with crap, like GSpace nor without Google Services...
Thanks in advance!
Anyone?
Huawei mate 40 pro here.
It has taken a while and some testing. I can honestly say that it is worth the effort.
Look around for microG workaround to get notifications working.
Gspace is working better without microG, and it does not cost that much to pay to lose the ads. I have already done that. Gspace can also send shortcuts to the homepage of your launcher.
You have bought a special phone, amazing hardware but a bit crippled without GMS.
Try firefox instead of chrome, try installing apps via appgallery, and something like aurora or other apk store for everything else.
Outlook or other mail client also works just fine.
I have got around 140 apps, it is doable
So, without GSpace, nothing else?
@khrystyan27, many Google apps are running without problems even without GMS.
Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, those are running fine without GMS.
I use, on Mate40 pro, alot of apps without any problem (in addition to those listed) ... Telegram, Signal, Yahoo mail, Google translate, etc ...
As an alternative to YouTube, I use YouTube vanced (with the possibility of logging in).
Even Maps are running fine, without loging options, offcourse. If I want to connect to Maps, I use it into Ourplay (I tried GSpace too, I didn't like it).
Even the banking applications are starting to work, more and more, for NFC payment.
I use PayPal or Curve without any inconvenient, together with local banking applications.
So, before to use those apps you need into the virtual machines like VMOS, GSpace or Ourplay (that's what these applications are, virtual machines), try to use them normally.

There are too many apps that uses background services. Try strava, garmin connect, wolt... Your best choice is to stay away from this phone. I switched back to my old P30 PRO. At least it is working.

Strava works fine in gspace. Maybe you need to step back and realise that you've allowed yourself to become locked in to Google like an iPhone user is locked in to Apple.

Maybe I should step back. But where to? Honestly Gspace is crap. I am locked to google with a lot of apps - no doubt about it (no games at all). Guess what. It works. Apple users do not complain at all.
Right now I have this phone at home unused with a map named NOT WORKING of some 20-30 apps (bank, parking, navigation, measuring tools and specific work apps). And I cant sell the phone because everybody now know the problem. It is CRAP without GMS. You can step back if you want. I can't.
I am simply waiting for someone to put on Harmony OS on international version, make it usable and sell the damn thing ASAP!
I keep hearing about navigation apps that don't work ...
Which are those ??
Is everyone really stuck on Android Auto or on Maps with login ?? Otherwise, Maps works perfectly without logging in ...
Waze, Petal maps, Here we go and many others are working fine too.
Even in Romania we have more and more functional banking applications on phones without GMS ...
Curve payments can be used for NFC payments, if the personal application used is not yet available in the App gallery.

And how exactly does Harmony make it more useful?

I always get issues trying to connect my google account with MicroG, probably doing something wrong.
