I have read a few posts about 2.2 MobileAP not working. My experience with it is that it works but take about 1-2 minutes for a DHCP address to be assigned to my laptop or any other device I have tried. Just wanted to put out there for those running stock 2.2 to be patient and see if yours is the same way. The first couple of times I tried it I didnt wait long enough so I figure some are doing the same as well.

Same for me, I used it for about 4 hours straight yesterday without issue. Worked phenomenally.
Yep, great addition. Sure att will remove it without a plan. Exactly why I love these forums and
android. you can really work with it
MobileAP works fantastic for me. I have had my iPad tethered to it all day today.
I have even unplugged my work computer and used the USB tethering to see if it works and it worked great.
ONLY thing I am missing is an icon on my homescreen for it now. I could create one with Launcher Pro in 2.1, but in 2.2 I can not seem to find it to create a shortcut for it.

I asked the question in the thread but since its past thirty pages I don't think people read that far into it anymore. Please help.
I think I have a memory leak with IM+ I downloaded both the Touchflo and Professional and they both have the same problem. When I go to send an IM to someone the IM box opens but the typing area doesn't show nething just the previous screen where the text box is supposed to be. I used agile but that doesn't connect for ****.
I also have a problem with connection to the internet. I used the network wizard but same thing. I changed the settings from wap.voicestream to internet2 since I pay $30 a month for the internet. Still same problem takes long to grab a connection. Also if it does connect and I minimize a program like IM+ or whatever the internet disconnects then.
This is such a great rom so quick I don't wanna get another one just cuz of these to problems but its getting annoying. Please help because this will cure my flashing addiction if I figure it out.

There is no memory leak in the ROM but.... the Touchflo have a leak... the rest is a IM+ problem not a ROM problem
When i don't startup Touchflo there is np but after using it i miss some mem
Try advancedconfig v1.0 for your connection. problem... and deleted all conn. setting and enter them again.

I'll try the connection stuff at home but I got another question if it's not the rom then what is it. Because the IM+ worked perfectly fine with all the other roms except these two. Worked perfect on the regualr TNT.

i have no idea why, but i experienced the exact same issue. the other roms that ive been using (at least 6 different ones this week) dont have this problem. im back to my stable one, modified Jaguar 3.1.....
So they tell me after i switch phones that internet will work in 1 hour.. It doesnt so today i try and ask for help. They ask me to dial ##3282# which for half a milli second goes to the edit option then goes back to dial pad. So that doesnt work, they then tell me to hit the update profile button "which is under the tv out button in system settings" but its not there.
This is what i tried using
MightyROM_RhodiumW_062010 (11400)
Its very frustrating. I tried the mR X rom and it was totally sluggish and boring.
so i said fuk it and flashed 6.5 windows on the phone instead of custom rom (and guess what the setting was there and dialing ##3282# works .. how lame is that mightyrom,..
i didnt see anything telling me to install custom cab or that my internet would not work with mightyrom..
I spent along time programing my contacts into the new mightyrom thinking the internet would work then had to delete them all when switch roms.
I went with sprint lovers 6.5.x and seems great has the one thing that mightyrom had that i wanted wifi router. And has sprint navigation too (which mightyrom doesnt and office 2010 along with tons of other options and cool bigger icons) Very pleased with sprint lover rom not sure if i will even test anything else.. (sprint lovers rom actually has update profile but also can not dial ##3282# )
you know, i dont post much on there but the one thing i do is READ. There is nothing wrong with mightyrom and the internet works just fine in it. ( i have ran it several times before myself ) as for programs go search for the cabs and install them. Doesnt anyone search on how to fix problems anymore?
dude u probably just didnt know what you were doing. If you had to sit there and program numbers back instead of having sense and backing up the numbers that already shows how much of a genius you are. Not trying to diss but just pointing out the obvious. Instead of blaming someone else try looking at your own errors cuz I never had any problems out of any of those roms
Meh, I have that ROM and it works fine. I have the PRL/Profile cab, and Office 2010 Mobile for it. Wifi router works great Mike!!!
This guy just posts crap in a lot of forums guys.

Thanks. Was considering giving it a try, but was almost put off by the op.
I bought my wife a TF for her birthday a couple weeks ago and she's been playing around with it. So far she's happy, but today she wanted to use Skype to make a video call to her mom.
Needless to say, we soon found out that Skype Video chat isn't supported, so I found what I thought was an alternative. Google Talk, which comes stock on the Transformer. She then told her mom to get Google talk on her PC so they could chat.
This is what happens. Whether we called her mom or her mom called us, we cant get the video to load. If her mom rings the TF, our video loads in the lower right corner, but then her mom's video only pops up for a second and then we get sent to the Chat screen.
But here's the rub...I loaded Talk on my laptop and I can video call back and forth between my laptop and the TF just fine - video and sound. Now granted, I have no idea how my MIL has her PC set up...but I do know that we tried Google Talk Video PC to PC and it worked without issue.
Has anybody else experienced this and is there a fix? I searched online and found several people having the same issue, but I also found people who say it works flawlessly...and whats the disconnect between my laptop and the TF versus my MIL's PC and the TF? Could it be simply that both my devices are in the same WiFi? Could it be because my MIL lives in California?
Any input is appreciated.
It work fine for me too even when my PC and tablet are on different wifi network so probably the way it's set up on your MIL's side.
Now instead of using the app on the PC
She can try to log into her Gmail account and initiate a call from there.
I don't use any PC app at all just straight from my Gmail account on the PC
to my tablet.

My sympathies to you - despite being one of these womenfolk, I do actually know what you're talking about. Every other day either me or my husband is trying to fix some sort of computer issue for my mother-in-law. God help us all if she actually realizes video chat is a thing.
That said, also slightly off topic, but despite preferring Gtalk personally, it would be really nice to see Skype working on this device since everyone under the sun seems to use it. I haven't had a problem so far with TF-to-TF vid chat, but I'll see if I can replicate your issue with one of the desktops later. You'll probably have it resolved by then though, I'd imagine
Good luck!

To get there log into the gmail account, then:
1. Click in the gear icon on the far upper right.
2. Click mail settings.
3. Click in the chat tab
4. In the Voice & Video Chat area there is a camera drop down box to choose the hardware.
Also make sure she has installed the Video Chat plug-in:
1. Again from the gmail account click on her gmail e-mail ([email protected])
2. Click account settings
3. Click talk
4. Click install Video Chat plug-in
Hope one of those get things working for you.
I also tried it from my Desktop. My desktop (Vista 32 machine) had no issues. My laptop is a Win7 64. I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I wouldn't think so.
I'm almost positive that its something or some setting on her end not quite right.
Now to communicate it to her and make her understand cause its not like I can just hop in my car to go take a look at it.
I've got pretty much the exact same problem here! Calls from PC-PC work, but from TF-PC don't load at all. It's been like this for well over a month, and I have yet to figure out any solution.
Did you manage to get anything to work on your end?
EDIT: Found this link. Any news or solutions would probably be posted there first. As of 3 days ago Google was still working on a fix.
Hummm.... I can report that video chat does work with my TF and my Win7 64 Laptop. After going into the Google settings, as I mentioned above, and setting the correct web cam device, I have tired it several time with no issues.
My TF is up to date and running 3.2 by the way.
Of course I was on the same home network with both devices, so maybe being on different networks would yield different results.
Hey Nickovtyme, you think your MIL would want to try Yahoo Messenger?
I use it and it work good though resolution is not as good as GTalk.

That works fine for me when we're both on the same home network. If possible, try tether the TF via WiFi hotspot from your phone (if you have a data plan) - that will effectively put it on a different network - and try GTalk again with your computer to see if it still works.

Well, just gave it a go. Used my cell phone data connection with my TF and it worked. I first I thought it didn't, but then realized I had to open the lid so I could use the built in webcam (duh!).
But yeah, it works for me.
Hello, I recently was looking into buying a cheap laptop or tablet or something to browse the web on my tv, then i ran across this forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1155412
Which helped me connect a blue tooth keyboard and mouse then i ran a cable to tv. Everything works as it should except for when the keyboard is not in use for say 3-5 mins it goes to sleep and will not wake up. I am forced to go into BT settings and pair and connect it, which sometimes takes 2 or 3 tries. The mouse can go to sleep and wake up fine without having to re-pair it. I even restarted phone and the mouse worked right after reboot without me having to touch the phone, the keyboard however does not. A friend of mine tried pairing the keyboard to his HTC EVO 3d and it would wake up and reconnect without a problem so it must be the rom im using? I dont know. I tried using the stock rom, stable cm7 and a nightly cm7 and hellfire ICS rom. The ICS rom worked the best as far as keyboard waking up but the mouse on ICS does not have the shortcuts it does in GB (right click in gb goes back, right click in ics does the same thing as left click?why?) I also tried using trinity kernel for stable cm7 to see if that would help, but no.I just want to be able to leave the room for a moment then come back without having to reconnect this stupid keyboard.
I bought the microsoft BT mouse mentioned in the above post and i bought an ipad keyboard like mentioned in the same post, I dunno why im having so much trouble. I created new thread because the one i linked to is long dead. Thank you for your input!
link to the exact keyboard model your using.
ive been doing this since the functionality was built into cm7, and was using a keyboard since i got the phone. Neither has any issues.
Try setting the phone to never sleep (set timeout to like 6 hours or something)
i see you said its a keyboard for an ipad, sometimes they might use a different protocol that does not line up exactly with how all HID's (human interface devices) should work. so the keyboard might sleep, but the command it sends to wake up and re-connect is not getting understood by our phones.
if you can try another bluetooth keyboard and see if the issue persists.
EDIT: and never be afraid to necro an old thread, as long as you read it and its relevant, it saves us from clicking on another link.

I cant find a link to the manufacture's website and the box it came in doesn't even have a brand name on it or anything, just some cheap keyboard from china. The box does say its for ipad2/iphone 4.0 OS/pc/smartphone/htpc/android 2.1 so i kinda figured it would of worked.
I have model K1280, this is where i bought it
http://www.amazon.com/NIKINGSTORE-B...O4GI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334349017&sr=8-1
for some reason, some of the reviews there state that the keyboard they received has rechargeable battery built in, but mine does not. Mine also came with slightly different box than what was pictured.
After i got home from work today i turned on the mouse and keyboard and both connected to phone with no problem. But still a problem when keyboard goes to sleep, so i thought what if i just flip the switch off then back on seeing how it connected fine when i first turned it on. That didn't work what i don't get is I've tried the keyboard on 2 other devices and it worked without a problem. I don't have spare bluetooth devices laying around, like another keyboard lol so I guess my only option is to give this thing to my mom who has an ipad and buy a new one. May I ask which keyboard you use? Thanks for your reply
I'm not sure where to put this so I'm going to post it here but if it's in the wrong spot please feel free to move it, Mod.
Ok, I have a Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE (downgraded to 3G, no 4G in my area) running Android 4.1.2 that I use my Hotspot internet off of. I have connected it to just about everything, computers, tablets, and other phone and it has always worked perfectly until now. I got a Visual Land Prestige Pro 7D tablet running Android 4.1.1 for Christmas and for some reason my phone's hotspot won't connect to it. It says it is connected but when I go to use the browser or any app that uses the internet it never loads or doesn't work. Sometimes the signal even drops out and reconnects but never actually works. I did some research and it sounds like it might be an IP address conflict but I am not sure how to fix it. Some sites suggest downloading another tether/hotspot app so I tried a few. Some revert back to the original hotspot setting on my phone, which of course did me no good, and some just plain did not work, they did exactly like my original hotspot, connect but won't work. I have pretty much figured out that it has something to do with my phone's hotspot since my tablet works perfectly fine on other people hotspot or wifi internet. Can someone please help me figure out what is going on?! Thanks in advance!
Are you on the stock ROM? Seems to be from your post.
You've tried using the built-in tethering feature, as well as some 3rd party software. Most of the 3rd party programs will create an 'ad-hoc' network which typically only other computers can connect to. There's some threads around here that discuss how to remedy this on stock. Search around.

Yes I'm still on the stock ROM the phone came with. I have tried the built-in and 3rd party apps and neither is working. I'm really not sure to look for. I have tried a few different things including changing the IP address in my phone hotspot settings and nothing works.

I just tried to download the ISWAT Tether Unlocker but I noticed that it is only for rooted devices, I'm not rooted, and I really don't want to root it. Any other suggestions?
A phone w/o root is less than half phone.
BTW you can try foxfy or pdanet, the latter works surely, but at the price of a client installation on the PC side, and is USB/BT only.
I haven't tested the former

I have rooted my phones before but I like this phone the way it is for right now and I just don't want to go through that long process of rooting it.
I have tried Foxfi, it connects but like the others, the browser and app never load, but I can connect to any other wifi or hotspot and they load fine. From what I have heard Foxfi and PDAnet are the same, they even have a combined app. I have done some more research and it looks like maybe my phone or tablet, which ever one, is running adhoc (?) and either one or the other can't use that. Does that sound about right?
PDAnet and foxfi, are two apps sold by the same company, but are all but the same thing.
PDAnet is a 10+ years old program, is older than android, and is an absolutely proven SW, working on multiple platforms either on server and client side.
FoXfi is a relatively new program that manages to work on a great number of devices, but that is not guaranteed to work on any device.
If foxfi doesn't work on PQ, I'm afraid there is nothing you can do w/o rooting the phone.

Install TWRP, it will automatically offer to root the device after booting to recovery and then in recovery restarting to system.
Otherwise follow this guide to install CWM / SuperSU.

Sorry for the late reply. (time zone is our enemy
BTW given arrrghhh already replied, I can only add to avoid confusion to follow the linked thread about CWM, but replacing the CWM part with TWRP.
The latter is more newbie friendly and, will root automatically the phone, and will also block the function that restore the original recovery on the first boot.

Basically you need to install the drivers and get ADB working, before doing anything else
Once you have done that step you can unlock your phone, using the instructions provided on the CWM thread, and in the related motorola website iself.
Then is flashing the TWRP is pretty easy, you just need to start your phone in fastboot mode, connect your phone the the pc, then issue the command
fastboot flash recovery twrp-something.img
(replace the last part with the real name of the file downloaded from the TWRP thread.
then reboot in recovery once (is mandatory to not reboot in system the first time) and when you will exit the recovery environment, it will ask if you want to root your phone.
That's all
This is a quick walk-trough, I hope you can understand that I can't detail every single step more, if and when you have doubts, just google a bit and ask for the definite problem you may have, here.
