Anyone know if Swype works with Cyanogen? I have the RC1 and I got accepted into the BETA but when I install it it says it was configured for a different phone. The keyboard pulls up but the swiping doesn't work. I downloaded the new APK from the link they sent me but yeah, it just doesn't work. Anyone know how to get it to work?

Hi. I don't have an Evo, but I am running CyanogenMod on my Epic 4G and I'd like to have Swype as an optional keyboard app. Could someone post a link to the apk? That thread doesn't seem to be available anymore. Given THIS thread's age, I bet it was deleted.
If you are a tester, just download the installer and run. This works on cm7 but is untested on cm6.

Okay. I think I am a tester, but I don't think I've tried to install it on CM6. You response is much appreciated.
I hope someone can help. I am using the new SWYPE BETA since the beta signup is open again. It seems to work for a few days and then all of a sudden I can not SWYPE ANYMORE. This is what SWYPE does when it is EXPIRED but there is no message that it is expired. I then have to UNINSTALL SWYPE and then use the SWYPE INSTALLER to download and install again. WHY is this and how do I resolve?

custom kernel? that happened to me w/ some of them. u dont have to re-install it, just change the input method to something else, then go back to swype. usually u would have to do this on a fresh reboot when using some of the kernels out there....

Whatever Swype you get from the Beta enrollment will work perfectly fine on ICS. I had it running on texasice and now on medroidmod.
So - get Swype installer from the beta email and run as usual.
If you're not enrolled in the Beta I can't help you - just saying that Swype works just fine with ICS.
For the record - I am on Swype v 3.26.92D and MeDroidMod 1.4.3 HWA

You can sign up for the beta and should get an e-mail from them shortly as it isn't a closed beta anymore AFAIK

Guys, i installed ics rom (TeamNyx RC5) but it doesn't have swype keyboard.
Since 3 days i've been trying to download swype from swype's homepage but it always gives error message (it's a swype's problem as i could read at swype users forum, and no way to fix it).
So i need a way to get swype keyboard with portuguese language (PT).
If anybody knows a diferent way to get swype, please post the link.

downloading swype beta requires you to have a swype beta account. then grab the swype installer and from that install swype. and yes, that's working.
also any search engine will easily find you plenty of download links for swype apk, unofficial sources of course
providing swype.apk here would is not allowed by the TOS

Yes, and i have a swype account. I have downloaded the installer. It gives error. As i told in my previous post, its a "parse" error due to something weird in swype's download page or apk.
In fact, i've searched but couldnt find swype with PT (portuguese / portuguese) language. And even so, 99,9% of the links, send me to swype's homepage (wich has the error on downloading)
Anyway, if there is a problem with this thread, you can delete it.

Are you sure?? Ive tested one i found and it only had english and french and didnt give my any option to download any other lang packs

I can confirm that this is true, the additional languages are downloaded after swype is installed

No problems at all regarding to:
1) Very good themes. A lot to choose
2) Download links / speed
3) Installing
4) Setup (means download lang packs)
