I did a LONG a search and all I found was a .cab file.. I don't know what to do with that.. I would like an apk I can install easy..

pulled this from virtuous rom. in the zip is the .apk of radio and widget...this is NOT a flashable .zip

EDIT: Would not install. Oh well. I guess that's why no one else has posted just an apk. Thanks anyway.

Or would this widget need to live in /system?

Awesome! I'm new to Android (First smartphone here) but that doesn't work. I tried installing with AppInstaller and adjusted my phone settings to install apps not in the market.
No dice. It starts up like it is going to install, then says "Authorization Failed".
Could it be for a different build only?

oh man so so close! I actually get to the point where its about to install, and then I get "Application not Installed" with the yellow exclamation point next to it. It even shows the newspaper icon! A little digging around, and some random posts suggest it has to do with 'application signing'.
Know anything about this?
Yea, you need superuser (root) access.
Hope you don't mind Gimpeh but I posted the apk on a few other sites to see if anyone else can do something with it. If they are able to get it working I will re-post it here most definitly.

Is the apk de-odexed? I.E., when you open the apk, is there a classes.dex in there?

Yep. Can you help? I tried installing via ADB in the SDK, but still no dice. I also tried signing the APK with a debugging key, and again, no dice.
I have searched for this and can't find it. If anyone could post up the htc camera apk, or link me to it, I would much appreciate it!

i removed the aosp camera with adb, then simply installed the file posted above and it worked for me

I'll have to try removing the aosp one first. I simply just tried pushing the htc one
...or would simply pushing the file work?
You can definitely try if you want. I'm not sure if it will work or not though because there may be a framework difference.

Are you trying to open the .jar file? I never tried, I dont know java code. I only push .jar files and hope for the best.
No, I mean go to the link and click it, there's nothing there but text. No download.

We are talking about the same one right? The link for the original services in tennfaces post about the status bar? Thats the one i clicked and it works for me.

i can't post you the. apk because by now i've less than 10 replies...use maxthon mobile browser instead the stock one, it's fast, simply & full of features!
