Build 19199 or Build 5.2.19716 updated FEB 20.2008 seems to be the newer one?
i personally prefer 19716 build but you can try both and figure it out. there was no need to open a whole new thread just 4 this question.
It's a perfectly valid question dude.
Like most people I am frustrated by people asking the same questions again and again, but I am concerned that this forum is in danger of heading down a bad road by bashing noobs at every opportunity.

Yes it's a perfectly valid question to ask in Dutty's thread about his ROM not creating a whole new thread about it.
totally agree.
You could argue this is like asking a parent which one of their kids they like the most!
Best thing is to try both and see which you prefer. There will be advocates for both.
ps don't try that with your kids. it will end you up in jail.
I use each rom on my 2 tilts. I feel that 197 is more stable. 191 sometimes freeze if you push some buttons whil they are booting up. doesn't happen to 197.
No disrespect to anyone here on the board, but Dutty's thread is quickly becoming useless to me. I'm not going to weed through 330+ pages of replies to try to follow a conversation or find a piece of information in there. That thread is quickly becoming it's own universe.
I'm glad this thread was started - It's good information for me that I wouldn't have otherwise found.
Regards,
Jeff

Here's the point....I garuntee if you post in there with a question it will be answered...there's no point in making a new thread....that's all I'm saying.

Posted a question ... no answer.
That thread is bull....
It took me 5 minutes to even find my posting.
The thread might make sense if someone was moderating it ... meaning putting questions into the first post with links to answers. But this? Bull!

Yeah, all threads suffer from this, and I'm also totally agreeing with you, I'm also in the same situation, cannot read hundreds of posts and pages of every ROM thread to find out if it's a suitable one to upgrade to. Trying out so many ROMs until satisfied is not an option for me (ok, I'd admit trying a few, but not every version of every flavour of wm6.1), I want to find one to get rid of my german wm6.0 and have iGo still working, and no issues more than with 6.0.
An updated FAQ in the beginning posts of the respective threads would be useful, but even better, real wiki articles (not just links back to forum threads). Don't want to upset people who discovered the Internet just when these forums where already around, but on mailing lists information and discussions where easier to follow and filter...
Just my 0.2€...
Back to the question: which is the best?
Let me tell you: the new 19716 RTM out to come soon will be the best and fastest ever!!!
I was just on the HTC site checking for a new ROM and there is nothing there. Not even the old one. My guess is that there is going to be a new one soon, hopefully.
I wouldnt hold my breath if i were you. The 1.62 ROM update is there, you just have to dig REALLY deep for it. The odds of us seeing a new ROM update for WM6.1 or any other maybe slim, at least for awhile.

Well, the sarcasm wasn't lost on a few of us I guess, the OP excluded.
We should expect to see this at least weekly.... This should be in the thread about redundant threads or is that redundant?

Maybe we should make it a sticky, or maybe even a separate sub-forum.

Better yet we should get a moderator to close this pointless thread. This has nothing to do with Kaiser ROM development. If not closed it should be at least moved to the Kaiser General section.
Link is gone.
Actually I had the "Tilt" link for software updates saved in my favorites and since yesterday they did take down the latest link. Software update is no long an option in the selection.
http://www.htc.com/us/FAQ_Detail.aspx?p_id=67&act=sd
Well, as PC Mag was awarding "Editors Choice" to the Tilt in this months issue, it did mention "running WM6.1 which contains a long awaited memory leak fix... should be in these phones by the time you read this..."
Without proof, speculation on this topic is less than useful. If you've got some free time, please contribute to the community and update the Kaiser FAQ or the Cooked ROMs page.
Seems like everyone has had their fun. As requested, this thread is closed.
Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a stable version of Stock ICS (not the new one with touchwiz) available for the SGH-I727.If pre-rooted that'd be awesome. I've been looking all over but haven't been able to find anything.
Sorry if this is a retarded question haha
Thanks allot!
Sorry to say you will not find a stock ICS for the skyrocket yet as it has not been released, or a date provided for it's release
As said above nothing yet. You might not get away without a flaming though. This gets asked a couple timed a week by new members. As soon as something pops up it will be in the development section and it will blow up faasssttt.
We have people working on it but its not ready for use yet.
**Sigh** same song, beginning to get old
Sorry guys, I apologize for asking a redundant question haha I just thought I'd ask if anyone knew of anything similar to the UI of the original ICS on the galaxy Nexus. Sorry again for any annoyance I may have caused.
no be sorry, this people always complain for anything. a least you post in the right section.
If you can't find it on here, it doesn't exist
Non-bricked Skyrocket since 2-11-2012
Its important to note that its in development on our dev boards called isotope no where close to being a daily driver

does Samsung update the old note 10.1 to 4.3 or we should wait for a developer to port the 2014 to old one?!
I can guarantee you that if/when, you'll see plenty of threads about it.

and there is NO NEWS about the time!!!
and can you direct me to one of those questions that have been answered properly?!

Obviously if you're not seeing the flood, it hasn't happened yet. Obviously if this same question keeps getting asked every few days with no answer, nobody knows. When we know you will see a flood of messages that we know. Not sure if this can be made any more clear.

Tips for a pleasant XDA:
Search before asking. Someone has likely already asked.
Spell your words completely, and use punctuation. It confuses people when you use "u" and "ur" and "dat", or when you wrongly use "there/their/they're/your/you're".
Be nice. Don't be rude, just move on to another post without leaving a comment. We are not 7 years old.
And PLEASE, do not ask for the "best" anything. We all have our preferences.
So no news flood shows no update
Stupid to expect anyone but Samsung to know the facts .

I just got my Note 5 this afternoon, not a single one of my credit or debit cards will work with Samsung Pay and since I am with USAA it may be a while before it does, as such the itch to root is even stronger now.
Has the latest OTA been rooted yet? I am currently still on 5.1.1 but I am getting the notification for an update.
Would it be wise to update or should I wait a bit longer?
In other words has unlock and root been achieved on the newest OTA yet?

I didn't ask if it could be rooted.
I asked if MM had been rooted or if it was only LP at this time, as all I see in the development forum are 5.1.1 roms and kernels.
This is why I asked the question the way I did.
There is a very good reason that XDA has the reputation of being a bad place to go if you have questions, and your response is part of that problem.
The Q&A forum is for precisely these style questions.
Now, seeing as how I did not ask how to root the device as there are plenty of threads on that, would you care to take a stab at answering my actual question.
I won't be mad at a link to a thread which answers the question I asked.
Just do this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3187422
Looks like this when done right
And again, note that the link and the screenshot is for LP, I am asking if MM has been rooted yet.
Though I do very much appreciate the response.

First of all you never stated anything about mm in your original post. Secondly note 5 is still on lp. The only thing you stated is if the latest Ota has been rooted, and the latest Ota is lp and yes it has been rooted so there is your answer.

Its all good. I won't go there with this one. The back and forth isn't worth it. You should also probably edit your post!
MM Beta is rootable. Go to the development section to find out the pros and cons of using the beta. I advise you to stay on LP. There's only the stock rooted beta kernel available for MM. There's a lot of cons to being on it, so please keep that in mind is you decide to flash it.
See how much help I still gave you without actually posting a link? Not trying to be a **** but if we soon feed the work, the work wouldn't know how to feed itself. I started off as the wise noob ever, and bricked phones. If I had only taken the time to Google and research, those devices being bricked could have been avoided.

Jammol,
I realise in my first post I did not give names as I had thought I had. This is why upon re-reading it I apologized as my original question wasn't clear.
Thank you for the follow up.
In any question thread the answer should be clear, even if it is simply a link to another post, in this way those coming here in the future can follow the link rather than seeing a simple "nevermind I figured it out" and my post being the only response to their search. Please note, I did not say you had to provide a link, just said that even if your answer was simply a link to where I could find the answer that would be fine as well.
Note I did search, but as I was looking for MM ROMS I could not find anything, I was under the mistaken impression that MM was on the device. This is where I erred and why I could not find anymore information.
For all future folks taking a look at this thread, as of today MM is not available on the Note5 and the newest OTA (as of today) has already been rooted and you can find a number of ROMS in the development section.

Honest question for you.
After reading the thread, seeing where I had apologized and seeing that the issues was solved and the back and forth was done, what compelled you to respond in such a negative manner?
You end your statement with "smh" which I can only assume stands for "so much hate" as it is currently used.
So why bother? You see the thread is resolved, you see the question has been answered but then you just felt this need to respond?

Smh means shaking my head. And it doesn't matter if it was resolved, you got all upset that none of us took the time to GOOGLE or FORUM SEARCH for you, when you could have easily done that yourself. The sense of entitlement was pretty thick.
And again, if you had actually bothered to read I state that I did search but was under the mistaken impression that this phone had an update to MM when it had not, hence the reason I could not find anything when searching for MM ROM's, this is why I asked.
So your assertion, especially after I had already stated I did, that I didn't search is completely unfounded.
The issue I took was with a response that boiled down to "do your own research as this help forum isn't here to help you".
This is an issue at XDA and why XDA is universally made fun of and considered a bad place to go if you have questions that haven't been answered, because a bunch of folks will respond with vitriol without bothering to read the rest of the posts.
For instance, the best answer was already given, but it would have hurt nothing for Jamool to have said:
"The latest OTA update is currently LP and that has been rooted, you can find multiple roms in the development section of the forum, here is a link (link). And in the future make sure to make use of that search button."
At which point I would have realised that I was mistaken on the idea that the Note5 has Marshmallow already and that would have been the end of the conversation.
Now, can we consider this matter closed otr would you like to once again respond and tell me how I didn't bother to search?
P.S. I cannot be the only one that has noticed that the search function seems to stop working at 11pm EST am I?
