Turn screen on with keypad - General Questions and Answers

Hi. My HTC blackstone has a problem in power button. This way i mapped the answer call button long press to turn off screen. However, that doesnt solve my problem.
This way i want to find a screen toggle so i can map it to long press so it turns screen on and off, or alternately find a screen on to map ti to end call key.
Thanks

HTC Touch - Turn on backlight with any button

Not sure is it HTC Touch or WM6, there isn't any selection for
Backlight option "Turn on backlight when a button is pressed
or the screen is tapped". After device Backlight turn off, only
button to turn back on is on/off button. Anyway i can set such
that I can also use buttons like "Call" "End Call" to turn on backlight?
Is there any solution on the above? Probably some registry changes or
edit that can allow the "Call" end "End" button to use to turn on the
backlight?
Exactly the same problem...
Or, said in a different way, I'd like to block the device (screen and buttons), and completely turn backlight off, but being able to see an "active screen".
The current implementation (turn on the screen through power button) is very unconfortable.

How to setup... turn on screen pressing confirm button?

Does any know how to make the screen turn on pressing the round button? During a call getting quick access is a pain having to press the power button.
No solution yet but it would be great....
Another great idea for the TP

Anyway to TURN ON the screen after it auto off?

Hi!
Besides pressing the power button is there any utility to do so after the screen turns off after its set timing?
What about a software to assign a SCREENON utility to a hardware button?
Thanks
why?

RE
Because my power switch button is blocked by my hand pouch so I need to press a hardware button to turn on the screen after it auto turns off
under settings/buttons, the htc touch pro defaults to locking all keys except the power key - try unsetting the lock keys - it may make the other keys wake it up..

RE
I don't really get what you're saying
By default, except for the button for 'Today', the rest of the keys are assigned as 'Context Menu'
I tried to assign one button to a SCREENON utility but after a soft reset it returns back to 'Context Menu'. Apparaently, it's not sticking
BTW, how to get out of the Buttons screen? I need to soft reset to do so.
May be my SCREENON utility is the wrong one. What I need is a POWERON utility.
Thanks

Lockscreen End Call Button Action

I noticed in some of the online reviews that when turn on the lock screen on the HD2 and then hit the end call button the screen turns off. I have an Imagio that has the same buttons however when the lock screen is engaged and I hit the end call button nothing happens. Can anyone confirm that this works on the HD2 and if so could there be a reg edit that that is tied to this action?
Yes, works fine on my Leo. From standby > end call button > locked screen > end call button > standby.
Ok thanks for confirming, now I just need to find out where this setting is held.
have the same problem.
how to get it back to lock screen with the endcall button?
atm pushing it just turn off display.

Screen locks when you press the power button?

Is there any way, when using the default windows lock program that comes with the Verizon Wireless Touch Pro2, to make the phone lock when pressing the power button on top?
I'm struggling to find a program that will prevent my phone from powering down when I have it in my belt holster. Most of the replacement programs out there do NOT prevent the phone from turning off by holding down the end key when the screen is locked. The only lock program that I found that can is the default lock program. But that won't automatically lock the phone when I press the power button on top. It will only lock if it tap the 'lock' soft key.
Any suggestions?
Found my solution! A little program that causes the lock to happen whenever the phone goes into standby.
