Is it possible to make the Captivate vibrate when a voicemail is received? I have tried everything I can think of and cannot get it to vibrate.
Thanks
I found an app called Voicemail Notifier which allows you to control everything for voicemail notification. Works perfect.
It is just a notification, like a text message. Make sure that vibrate on notification is enabled. If you want to do it without that other app that is.

I am sorry if there is already a post with this question. I searched Google and XDA and didn't find any that were my question.
What I was wondering was if there was a way to have a different notification tone for email, voicemail, missed call and text messages. Right now, when I select my notification tone, it's the same tone for all.
Thanks in advance for your help.
I noticed today that if you set the main tone, then go to your sms inbox and click menu>settings>notification settings you can change the sms tone. Not sure about vm though, never tried.
Ha! You are awesome! That was totally it! I guess that the notification setting in Display and Sounds is the default for any message, but each application has a seperate setting that could be applied.
I did notice that when I set my notification tone in the messaging application, new messages set off both tones...the sms alert followed by default alert.
Thank you!

Hello again. When I receive an incoming call I get a strange problem.
I either get no ringtone no vibrate, vibrate only, or about half a second of my ringtone before it stops.
Very rarely does the phone ring normally.
Phone is set to Max volume and I get notification sounds.
I've tried searching and only found problems relating to HTC.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Finally fixed it. Turned out its the call blocker part of an app I had. NetQin Manager. I uninstalled that and now it works perfectly. Got to love this site.

I don't know if its the rom or my phone but i don't get any notifications at all with google talk. I have the ring tone and vibrate checked. My email and messaging notifications work fine. I installed ebuddy and the vibrate works but there is no sound. What in the world could be wrong? Also, i don't have a desktop client installed. Thanks for any help.

Is there a way I can assign a specific ring tone to people that txt me?
I have different ring tones set up for actual calls, but for text message they all have the same tone. Is there an app I have to get? or am I just screwed?
Thanks in advance.
Probably have to use a market sms app and set rings for contacts that way. Pretty sure gosms let's you customize individual contacts

GoSMS Pro and Handcent both allow you to do that, I'm guessing the other market SMS apps will too.

Every time I'm on a call, my phone will vibrate if I receive text messages. The buzzing right next to my ear makes it impossible to hear the other person, and is extremely distracting. I haven't found a way to turn this off (besides maybe setting to silent mode during a call, and I'm not even sure that works).
Any idea how to disable text notifications during a call? Would I possibly have to move to a third party app like handcent?
Call settings and then call alerts.

I have 'alerts on call' disabled but I still have the text messages vibrate when they arrive. I do not think I hear any in-call tones though.

Okay, I tested it out. 'Alerts on call' has to be ENABLED, which will result in a very light tone when text messages arrive, but that annoying vibration will no longer happen.
