Whats with all the urgency? Its not like porting is an overnight process. Porting typically takes days weeks and sometimes months.
It is not that easy. I believe Gingerbread (2.3) requires a new kernel. That we do not have, nor do we even have kernel sources for 2.2 yet. It might be possible to port PART of it, but there wouldn't be 4g, amongst other things. Also, this would likely be the GSM version, which leaves us without a proper modem.
So all in all.... Probably not going to happen.
I saw this posted earlier on androidcentral I believe and they were talking about a password on the .zip I think maybe it was the filename but google it for yourself lol

At least we can test the os. Radio and 4g can be solved in time. We just want to test this rom. Also, I know how long it takes to port. Lol

Apparently you really don't. CM6 is still ages from being ready for the Epic for example.
Not to mention we don't even know how to full extract or even flash these files properly.
Stop being so impatient about this. It will be no easy path, period. In all honesty, we may never get it working.
There might even be problems further down. We might not have a touchscreen driver, we WON'T have keyboard, hell the screen might not even turn on.
You seem to think that this is some easy task that will be accomplished, and it is not.
Simply put; Don't get your hopes up.

Spb mobile shell

Found this on twitter, won't work on my evo and have heard similar problems on incredible and n1. It installs but says device not supported when I try to activate it, maybe a dev here can figure it out.
Mod Edit: Don't post links to warez or unreleased betas

It isn't free software, nor is it officially released (though I would gladly pay for it if it came out sometime... ) Wish I got into beta.
Works fine on my Nexus S

Works fine on my galaxy s but lags sometimes.

It installs but needs to be activated, when I try to do that it says device not supported. Have heard similar problems on incredible and n1 but it does work on the g2. Here is the apk (found it on twitter) hopefully one of our awesome devs can get it working.

Yea my bad. Like I said I found it on twitter so didn't know much about it. If a mod wants to close this thread that'd be cool.

Flash junkies - beware of Google Music restrictions

http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/16/google-music-authorization-limit-rooters/
Or don't use Google Music. Or Play Market Vending machine.
And they have taken that restriction off just as fast and they started it lol

Slim ics

Can we use it on our phone? I saw it in the front page and it said it works for the vibrant, but does that mean we can use it?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA
NO.
no and let me elaborate further
When you want to go to the restroom do you go into the girls restroom(assuming your a guy) just because both restroom's look alike?
Nope! Because the sign says girls and you're a guy
Like that the Vibrant may look like our magnificent SGS4G but is different in many ways, if you flash(you can't because their ICS slim updater script checks first to see if you have vibrant or not)you will brick.
sent from T959V running Vibrant miUI port (ironic) lol
Thanks for the elaboration,I was just so tempted at the idea of ics on my phone
