Does anyone know if it would be possible to make an app that can allow blocked computers to access the internet by way of connecting via USB.
Does an app exist?

I didn't use it for a proxy but a few times at work I needed to unplug my network cable to use it on another computer I was setting up. In that case I just plugged my Evo in via USB and fired up USBTether. Gave me internet access in the meantime.
I need to be connected at all times to the network at work but need a proxy running to be able to go to other websites.

You can achieve something similar to reverse tethering using the Connectify app:

So I spent about an hour. Actually 2 In trying to connect my phone to the computer thru wifi. So everytime I try to connect to my home network it says optaining IP address. Then it says disabled. Wep protected. Which I entered the wep key on my phone. That did the same thing. So I'm trying to figure out how to connect wifi from my phone to the computer. So I can save data. Please help? !?!

I don't know that you can connect straight to the computer unless you have some shared file on the computer and an app on the phone to find such a share.
Alternatively there are apps in the market that will allow you sync the phone to the computer over wireless.
As far as obtaining an IP and not connecting I think this is how android tells you that you entered the wrong password. Double check it. If all else fails turn off WEP temporarily and see if it connects. I think WEP is easily cracked nowadays anyway.
If you just need to backup something right now why not use the usb storage via cable?

I have a not that unusual request but google searching it is impossible due to the interchangable words and their context.....
I have an Android device with a WiFi hotspot app installed that allows me to connect to hotspots anywhere.
I am at a friends who's internet connection is currently down and needs to get online for a few hours.
I have my USB to device cable.
So I want to do.....
His Computer --> USB Cable --> My Android Device --> WiFi Connection --> My Hotspot provider --> Interweb
This would seem to be fairly standard proxy forwarding to me, so is there a proxy server app for Android?
Before anyone suggests it I can't use tethering as he wants a shedload of data and it would break my 3g cap.
Thanks in advance.

Look buddy if you want to connect your friends phone with your wifi hotspot then turn it on in settings.
You must know that there is a difference in wifi and wifi hotspot.
Your android phone must be enable of wifi hotspot or wifi tethering.
And specify your particular problem.dont mess your question.

PDANET 3.5 via USB tetheror JB USB tethering.
Just enable disable radios, start thering on the device, plug it in.. you may need a client on the pc (as in PDANET).
They are what you are looking for.
