Hello, I have just bought a samgung epic 4g because I need a very quick way to stay connected to work, especially email. Today is my first day getting to know the phone when all of a sudden it would shut off completely. It has done it while charging on a laptop. Why is it doing this? I would also like some direction on how I would be able to sync my work email to the phone? We use outlook at work and I have not been succesfull at syncing. I also have an email account that I wish to delete and am unable to. Thank you very much for your help. The answers might be very simple but I do come from using a sanyo mirro.
Would a mod please move my post to the correct forum. Epic 4g area.

Hi guys, I dont know what hapenned with my raphael... I messed up in all configurations at account settings and it havent solved the issue.
When I receive emails, once I open the email and close it, going to the "house" of tf3d, later, if I go again to the email, the message disappears, without passing by the "deleted items", my messages are all running out the mobile, without one action
does anybody know how to fix it?

Hey all, I bought a HTC Touch Pro from Alltel back in December and have had zero issues with it till just recently. I ended up needing to do a hard reset and was able to back up all of my contacts/sms messages/etc... via another cab that I found on here. Since doing the hard reset, my msn.com email address is giving me crap when I try to sync it. When I say "giving me crap" I mean that it simply will not sync. When I hit the send/receive button, it goes straight to the "finished" notification, doesn't even appear to try to synch the folders at all. Also since the hard reset it automatically opens Windows Live, which it never did before. I created a gmail account just to see if it was an msn.com email issue. The Gmail inbox updates just fine, no issues at all, but the msn email just refuses to even try to sync. I'm not running any crazy roms/themes/cabs, all I have are the nocurtains, clear slider, and glass clock cabs installed, just purely visual cabs.
Anybody have any ideas on what I might be able to do to get windows live to stop opening automatically and get my msn email to actually sync? The msn email is my main one and I'd like to be able to access it on my phone. If my problem has been addressed here, I apologize, but I was unable to find it being addressed anywhere here or anywhere else for that matter. Maybe I'm just dumb and cant use the internet, but I was unable to find my answer elsewhere so I figured I could start a new thread and ask people who are more tech savvy than I am. Your help is greatly appreciated and I thank you all in advance.
Hi everyone, I hope this question hasn't been asked before (I couldn't find anything, but I'd be surprised if I were the only person with this problem).
I just got a Nexus S (not rooted or anything yet) and a friend wanted to check his email on it, but the Gmail website doesn't seem to work unless I'm on wifi (It finishes loading very quickly and all I get is a blank white page - no error message or anything). I tried going to the site directly (wwwDOTgmailDOTcom, gmailDOTcom - same problem) and accessing it through a google search (gmail, gmail login, gmail mobile, etc.), but no dice. It works fine on wifi. Is there a way to get it to work, or has anyone else had this problem? I have Java, flash, and plugins all enabled in my settings, and everything else seems to be working great both on 3G and wifi.
If that doesnt work, does anyone know if it requires a lot of data to temporarily sync someone's account to my email app and then remove the email account when they're done? I had to do that to get my friend's account to work, but I wouldn't want to do it all the time if that's what I need to do for a friend to check their email on my phone.
Thanks in advance to anyone who helps out. I know it seems like a dumb question, but I'm new to Android and couldn't find anything in any of the settings menus. I assume it's because Google wants you to set up accounts for syncing, but in this case it's just for people who want to log in quickly and check their email.
(sort of a bump)
Since nobody seems to know what my problem is, could someone please check if they have any difficulties logging into gmail's website on 3G (NOT wifi) and let me know if it works? I haven't rooted or anything, so it would still help me know if it's a phone problem or something with my settings. Thanks.
i have same problem
No gmail and no downloads from google market app on 3G. All work fine through WIFI. (Droid 2 from Verizon, now using on other network).
hi guys'n gals
I read on this site last week on how to stop activesync on my HTC touch cruise but it didn't work...the phone keeps connecting to the internet w/out me knowing it and my carrier DTAC [i live in BKK] keeps eating my money each time. And it will not sync to this XP computer at all so i have no backups.
So today I just went back into the Activesync options and unchecked the boxes which it was always trying to sync to...contacts/calender/e-mail and tasks. Now it deleted all of those.
HELP!! Please, please, there must be a way to get back my contacts/calender/e-mail and tasks. I've searched the forums and can't find anything relevant. I've also searched thru the phone's files system but to no avail...tho I am a self proclaimed tecknodork so...please help as there were a ton of contacts I'll never get back and my chemo appointments are kinda important too!
Thanks in advance

My company sent out an email saying phones with root access will no longer be able to use MobileIron or Exchange to get email access on rooted devices. We will have to login using Outlook Web Access (OWA). Since the change and getting kicked off, I have found it very frustrating not getting emails while away from my computer and being out of the loop when I run into someone in the hall who starts up a conversation about the latest announcement that I haven't had a chance to read. Or running into someone, setting up a quick meeting, and then having to recreate the calendar appointment on my computer when I just did it on my phone as well. Or, lastly, creating an appointment on my computer and then later realizing I don't have the details on my phone because they no longer sync. Point is, "do without" is not an option here.
Does anyone know of a workaround for this apart from asking the boss for a company phone and carrying two phones around? Is there a way to make a certain app think I don't have root?
If there's really no way around getting it to just plain work, I'd even be OK if there was some relatively automated way to sync the data (calendar appointments and emails) between my computer and phone once a day on a schedule. Any ideas on solutions here?

Read articles about app called EXPOSED. It has one of its modules that makes a company cannot detect wether you are rooted. You can install EXPOSED and find the module you want to include. For further knowledge about it, search righ here.
