hello everybody
Does anyone know if you can change the name of you'r bluetooth carkit on my HTC desire. The problem is that i have the same type parrot carkit in my private car as h this installed our company cars.
My HTC does not automaticly switch between those 2 carkits, it looks if you can only put one carkit of exactly the same type in your HTC.
anyone an Idea?
thanks

I have tried and failed to get the XDAII to bond with a Nokia bluetooth carkit that I used successfully with a 6310i. This kit looks like a button which is placed on the dash of the car, and is pressed to connect with a bluetooth device. The XDA requests a pin. I insert 0000, but still no connection. Any ideas?
The BT profile of the nokia carkit is called "carkit" and that one of the XDA sûpports onl the profile "headset" , this means there is no connection possible between a nokia carkit and a qtek or xda . It might change in the future.
For the XDA try the SonyEricsson HCB 30 BT carkit.
Or use the BTtools to get the hadnsfree profile and use the new nokia carkit C7KW.
Cheers
Does anyone have experience with the Parrot CK-3100 bluetooth carkit ?
I was about to go for the new Sony Ericsson HCB-300 unit when I encountered the Parrot. Featurewise it looks like a great unit, but I am interested in anyones experience using this unit.
What is the sound quality ? Are all features (like caller id etc) usable with the MDA/XDAII ...
Thanks !

Hi there,
I have recently fitted the CK3100 & have to say its been really good. It integrates with the vehicle, just like any other professionally available car kit.
That's the good news - the bad news is the XDA II (in all its guises) - still the age old problem of the lack of car kit profile means that the functionality is limited.
Yes, it does pair with the CK3100. Yes it will send and receive calls. What it won't do is make any proper use of the LCD display, nor will it allow access to the address book on the PDA.
In short, it will interact in the same way as it would any BT headset - because that is what it thinks its talking to !
If I use the car and need my handsfree - I have to muse my old Nokia 6310i - which works perfectly - allowing full use of the LCD screen and 100% access to all the data on the phone.
You may wish to check out the other threads on this site regarding the known and ongooing problem with the BT stack on the XDA II.
It's really pathetic that my old nokia beats the more advanced XDA II hands down when it comes to BT integration.
best of luck
Redz
Redz,
Have you tried installing the Pocket Bluetooth tools (http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html) to create a carkit profile in the XDAII ?
I've ordered the Parrot and will receive it later this week.
A slight diversion
I hate hijacking but any of you guys know how to get the Motorola car kit to answere calls. O2 blame Pocket Windows 2003. MS blame Motorola. Making calls is fine but answereing is a no no so Ive to call callers back when on the road. Any ideas

Phone only, and just using a headset profile, without the option of adjusting the volume which results in (too) loud sound, causing echo.
I've tried a few ROMs and haven't found one the supports the Bluetooth Handsfree Profile. I have a Nokia Carkit that only does Handsfree (no Headset) profile.
Does anybody know if or which one of those many ROMs flying around here support this Profile? Most threads here are only concerned with A2DP and hardly anybody talks about the Handsfree Profile. But I desperately need this.
Before someone mentions it: I have already tried the Jet BTHF Extension. It works well with my Jabra BT800, but not with my Nokia Carkit.
Thanks in advance,
Chris

My carkit sees my HTC and I can sync my address book but when I receive a call ore when I want to call it doesn’t work right. I have to put the telephone to my ear again. The speakers en mic in my car don’t work.
Can any one help?
Thanks,

update your carkit
Are you sure that you are on the best firmware for your car kit?
I have a diffrent parrot car kit (mk6000), and all my pb was solved by: going to the last parrot firmware, and after updating my phone to WM6.1 (not sure that this second is necessary or not)

I have a Parrot CK 3100
Version 4.16
I have also HTC TC with WM6 original
Every think work fine
You can try the jetware bluetooth extension.
http://www.jetwaremobile.com/
It solved some problems with my parrot ck300 evolution.

My Parrot works fine with Polaris
Parrot 3100 working fine with Polaris here too.
I had posted my experiences with the new firmware update here:

Hope that this helps

imo the parrot with the color screen is a waist of money, ck3100 is also more supported ! My polaris works flawlessy with my ck3100.
My Polaris works near fine with the CK3100, except the disturbing phantom call when your last call was not picked up...
The other minor problem is that the different numbers of one contact are shown separated (/H /W /M...) Does anybody know if it possible to show all together?
Parrot have a 4.17 update out.Try flashing your ck3100.

There is a prog on Parrot's website the creates a vCard of all your contacts in outlook this file is then sent to the CK3100 from your phone and all of you contacts are saved in the bluetooth kit.
I don't think the phone auto syncs these contacts though

Hi Guys,
I don't want to be rude, but the thread starter asks for a solution to his problem not a list of parrots which do work with the touch cruise. Not really helpful according to me :s.
Futhermore, I am also having a lot of problems with the Touch Cruise with the Parrot 3200LS Color. I installed the jetware bluetooth extension, which solved 99% of my problems.
The 1% left is disconnecting a phone call. If I push the red button on the Parrot device, the call is not disconnected. I have to push the red button on my phone to end the call, but still the 3200LS thinks the call is still going on. I have to pull the plug to reset the 3200 LS. I already flashed the parrot with the latest firmware.
Anyone any useful pointers?
Parrot and TC
Hi there!
I don't know about you guys, but for me it's simple, for HTC touch, and for TC with my parrot CK v3.13 here's what i do:
- to be shore, you reset your parrot (red + green buttons, then you hear "please pair device", and only with first pairing),
- turn on your TC's BT, go to settings/BT, Add new device (Mode - visible), and when parrot asks for code, it's 1234, as i recall.
- now you are paired, and when you enter in your car only thing you have to do is to turn on TC's BT, pairing will be authomatic.
this works for me, without any problems...
Hope this helps

I had a problem with the handsfree headset delivered with the S200.
2 seems to be available in ebay, but with very long delivery time.
I also tried my son's HTC HD headset, but it doe not seem to work
Has anyone identified a suitable replacement that would support both the headset function and the push to talk handsfree functions ?
Thanks in advance

If you have phonex as replacement dailer then you have to disable "lock hardware buttons". Otherwise you can't accept a call when pressing on the headphone button.
I tried the following BT headsets SE HBH-PV715 and Nokia BH-105. And they both have the same sympton when lock hardware buttons is enabled in Phonex.
