Hi,
I wonder if the fancy rotation animation from 1.5 could be ported to 2.2.
I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate it!
I think, the java code is still the same.. WindowManagerService calls Surface.setRotation();
Here are the c libs from 1.5
And here from 2.2
The 1.5 framework contained a LayerOrientationAnim.h and a LayerOrientationAnimRotate.h as well as OrientationAnimation.h.
Maybe someone familiar with c coding could wrap them into the 2.2 sourcecode?
i would definately appreciate this.
I would also like this aswell. (Just to support you)
any news about this?
Would like it too!
Same here! Are there any devs out there who can help us?
BUMP
i want the rotation animation so bad
I agree!!!! This would be completely awesome!!!!
wating for dev
Still nothing ... too bad

I don't know why everyone keeps asking for videos because unless there is a huge graphical difference (ie themes or change in the likescreen, statusbar, rosie, etc) then it's going to be the same as any other Hero rom out there.
In regards to speed and stability, that's mostly up to you the user. You configure the user.conf to your liking and use whatever apps you want. The more apps you have installed and more widgets you have on your screen the slower and more unstable your phone is. Also the speed of your sdcard could have a factor in it as well. Other factors could be included as well but the bottom line is that most Hero roms are identical to eachother and pretty much work the same way. Any obvious differences that are easily noticed visually is mostly themed.
I say backup what you have with nandroid/bart/switchrom/whatever and try it. Coming from JacHeroSki2.2, I'm noticing that this hasn't given me a single reboot and seems much more stable. But it's pointless to make a video of it because it looks the same. But... if someone would like to indulge us in a video of an MLIGN rom (which will be obsolete after every update by the way) than go for it! It's just my opinion that it's a waste of time.

The reason why i do videos is to show the improvements from the previous ROM.. Other people can then compare then if one of my ROMs suck and its BC of APK editing then i know to not use them.. I'm just trying to show them what is in store for them when i release it.

I hope not. Ive seen nothing good come of the ram hack on G1's. The phone is only meant to use a set amount of ram, and all it does it become extremely unstable when added. My experience with the ram hack i get nothing but reoots from phone going to sleep and even just sitting the home button.

Right on... I've noticed this as well.
Btw, can anyone post the default wallpaper (green leaves), or tell me what file the wallpapers are located in? I didn't see a Launcher.apk...
Edit: Also @MLIGN, will v2.5.7 have LED support? Not sure if you were planning on integrating the build.prop from Maxisma or not... AFAIK, there're no LEDs on v2.5.5, right?

well i think he was talking abt recording a video abt his new rom that has the 10mb ram hack in his last thread but idk if this one has it. we have to wait till he releases it n the changelog to see.......
hmmm i got a problem.. i dont get missed call notification on 2.5.5
...Never mind it works now.. it wasnt last night.
And to whoever was askin about the LED's they do work just download the missed call app.
Request/Suggestion
On the next and upcoming versions, could you change the gmail icon? It would be easier for those of us who use two email addresses. In my case, I like to glance at the notification bar to see if I have gmail email aka my business email, but now I can't tell because the HTC mail and gmail notification icons are the same. Thanks bud.
P.S Correct me if I'm wrong, but it was you who posted the twitpic with the purple/jester rosie, right?
EDIT: ON 2.55 I noticed, the browser can get very laggy

I have been searching for this particular clock for many months now... Since the early builds of tf3d I have been missing this one! I have messaged the creator of it and he must be busy with other things. There must be others out there who love this clock like i do and maybe even someone who can help remake it for sense 2.5 which is my request many thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to help out!

I would like to draw everyone attention to this beautiful launcher.
Is there anyone who would be able to dump and make it usable for other phones (something like Xperia Arc Launcher which was made to work with other phones)?

-System dump link added (thanks to cache51)
-Full phone dump link added (thanks to zarboz)
-Deodexed apps link added (thanks to zenitraM)
-It seems that after deodexing launcher works without some features
Is this phone even out yet?
Either way, would love to at least try it (launcher, not the phone).
Looks like WP7 but better! Well at least I think so, would love to try this!
Ya, this info bar launcher is rili fantastic. Rili hope some experts cn develop this and we might be willing to be the beta testers..
I am getting the phone and hopefully will be in hand by the end of next week.
Any instruction on how to get the ROM dump is greatly appreciated.
WOW I wish we could phones like that
This is the launcher of my dreams! Me wantz it!!!
We need a vertical scrolling launcher like this which isn't a WP7 clone, since too much space gets wasted in WP7.
I don't know why all launcher developers are fascinated by horizontal scrolling launchers. I guess because iPhone does it that way. What's more natural is vertical continuos scrolling page with apps and widgets, just like on this launcher.
Me needz it now!!!
I`d love to use this launcher!
some japanese people on XDA? If so, please:
1)Buy phone
2)Dump
3)Upload
thanks
cache51 you can try this video tutorial but i am not sure it will work for any phone
http://androidforums.com/optimus-m-...ll-adb-drivers-pull-system-dump-included.html
I dont think the phone is out yet
this thread needs to be seen by some dev's! please port this to some of 'our' devices!
so impressed by this UI, those asian guys always come up with something extraordinary, incredible!
already out in JP but it seems never be rooted...
Link? if its less than 700 I ll consider buying it
I was able to get a white one and it arrived yesterday.
Couldn't find usb device driver for it to get a system dump.... adb says -- device not found....
It cannot be activated in US even though it supports both CDMA (800MHz) and GSM.
Finally found the driver on Sharp's Japanese website... stay tuned
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Here is the system dump.
http : // www .mediafire .com/?s90sy14xonxanut
It is created with the following procedures:
1. adb pull /system
2. compressed with 7zip.
I can also help with porting the UI if required. I am familiar with Linux system and Java.
Since I am new to the forum, I am not allowed to post links. inserted some space and see if I can get around this restriction
Thanks
Downloading right now.
let see what I can do
Seems hard to port to HDPI/MDPI Res anyway...
EDIT:
Dude, it seems that it have huge framework dependencies...
looking forward for porting our android phone
but it seems very difficult
huh, well, i was trying to find this info too, but i have the phone coming in the next few days, i guess i'm a day late, dollar short.
keep us updated!
I tried to activate on sprint and tmobile....no luck.
it would work on tmobile if the phone were unlocked, which it isn't.
i have been using it on wifi for a day and wow, the UI is really great.
there was a system dump on a few post back and someone tried to look at it, but with no luck I guess.
how do we get devs to look at this??
I would love to offer any help I can to make this mod a reality. So far, I have gathered the following links that will surely be helpful in making this mod.
There are many users on the different individual rom threads, especially in senseless and aosp/cm9 roms, who are requesting to install HTC_IME (Touch Input), as it is the best input option around for some languages. I can attest firsthand to the fact that the Chinese handwriting input is by far the best handwriting input available for android (HTC is a Taiwanese company), so please don't suggest that everyone who wants htc_ime just go and download some other keyboard. They really did a good job with it, and people want to use it on AOSP!
The work done so far:
Jonas made the mod for gingerbread and devices with lower resolution screens. There is a lot of information about it here and links to downloads. It works on non-htc android devices.
http://www.linux-wizard.net/2011/02...c-ime-keyboard-under-a-non-htc-android-phone/
Original HTC_IME mod thread by jonas. The last page or so of the thread is full of posts of people saying please make this mod for ICS/qhd. So far, no one has done it...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624416
This is a HTC_CIME mod for qvga screens. You can see in the screens that it works on MIUI and with multi-language support. This seems like a very good lead, as it may possibly work on our device if scaled up!
http://www.miui.com/thread-109295-1-1.html
A way to get touch input back into virtuous inqusition rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1462460&highlight=with+libs
And finally, from our very own device theme forum, there is of course the package done by MichaelM. I think this is going to be our best shot at getting this working in aosp roms. I triead flashing the file "with libs" (should include multi-lang) on Vorbeth's rom, but it just continuously FCs with u select touch input (but touch input does show up!).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1384640
As I said, I am willing to learn as much as I need to to help make this mod, I just need someone with a bit more experience than me to offer some help! Can someone please give even a brief overview of how to do this. Do we need to run logcats to find out lib dependencies? I'm sure the whole process can't be all that difficult (well, one can hope!).
Thank you in advance, sensation community!
p.s. if I forgot to give credit to anyone else who has done work on htc_ime mod please forgive me. Post the info in this thread if you find it so we can get this going!
2 things, 1, I would love to see this mod happen, I've gotten used to the ics keyboard but would still love the HTC one. 2, if possible, the latest HTC_IME keyboard would be best in my opinion because I love the swipe gestures that you can turn on and off without actually using the Swype keyboard because the Swype keyboard isn't something I am entirely fond of anymore

latest is usually best! sounds good to me.
I would love to see that... I am starting to like CM9, but the keyboard just isn't good enough no matter which one I try... I will try gimpsta.com to create one and hopefully will have it working
good luck to you, sir!
BUMP! I really wanna see this happen too! But maybe we are looking at it from the wrong angle? I'm no dev, not in the slightest, but the HTC_IME that comes on the stock sensation is already qHD formatted. Would it be possible/easier to port jonasl's mods to the newer HTC_IME rather than trying to scale up the old one and fix it to run on ICS?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1844512
a MOD for HTC IME on QHD resolution is out.
Now all we need to do is to put CIME back to it.
I wanted to know if anyone out there has got a custom theme installed for stock roms.
I seen some for CM..
I want my menu's to be dark background based but not after have a custom rom to do it.
I looked through this sub forum and seen nothing related..
Thanks if anyone has any suggestions or ideas on how i can start patching it myself.
If i knew where the stuff is controlled form that would help.
I have experience doing all kinds of thing such as making a Rockbox Theme.
I don't think anyone has done any yet, I've done AOSP signal cluster and navbar mods but haven't touched the theme yet. If you use xposed "lollipop themer" seems to be popular for theming stock ROMs.
Here's a great guide and its always evolving and improving...

[Guide][How to theme lollipop roms with ease]
Interesting thanks.. 230 pages on that link wow LOL
Sadly it seems you would have to decompile a lot of apk's.
I wasn't sure if there was just some settings somewhere (in 1 place)
You would think the Android dev's would at least support some basic color theme changes right ?
I am surprised there is no built in support for this idea.
I have no doubt a lot of people out there want dark backgrounds like me.

The majority of the system can be pretty easily themed. Its framework, systemui, settings, dialer and phone. Then there's guys like team black out who do a lot of 3rd party apps and gapps. If there were more interest from the stock ROM users I'd do a dark system theme but I've done a few mods here and people don't seem to interested because of all the custom ROMs we have.
thanks for more info.. never heard of Team Black no idea what that is about but i love it already LOL
i am bonkers for patching everything i can so it's black
i'm an Android noob and getting my crash course done ahha
i had a Samsung Galaxy S3 way back for a while then broke it..
i pulled up and broke the digitizer under the glass and had to sell it for parts on ebay.
listed honestly as broken i still got $60 though
I even threw in the unused glass repair kit i had ready.
So my interests are cracking, modding / patching software usually on windows.
i have experience going back 15 years on linux but i drop it and forget lots by the time i go back to Nix.
i also have a passion for graphics modding.. i am good at editing graphic UI's and pic's etc
I did a popular Rockbox theme for the Fuze+ PMP too called Carbon.
I have the same theme on that as my Windows desktop theme and WMC theme and even on my phone. (on my old 2008 phone and wallpaper on my Moto-E)
A whole suite of digital devices that all have a theme i made
But hey guy of you get motivated and have the time go for it i bet many of us would like some black'ness
Projects can eat up a lot of time.. my Fuze+ Rockbox theme took me months.
I created icon sets and statusbar icons many i made by drawing out 1 pixel at a time with Fireworks.
anyway lol
yeah many of us use the stock rom (often with Squid's custom kernel + TWRP)
I have looked at CM and others and felt it was just too much.
i appreciate their work though even if i choose not to use it.
A lot of people do a lot on the web and share it all for nothing in return.. respect for them !
i found this place hacking an old phone back in 2008 and recently came back for Android..
Check this out...
