BETA IS CLOSED FOR NOW.
This is a beta. I haven't tested it except for booting and making sure the hardware works.
It is based on the latest RCMix22 from capychimp and robocik.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=702398
Wipe everything before flashing.
If you have problems with sleep then install ZenKernel from the link in my signature.
This is a gsm Rom so you can't do prl updates and this doesn't have sprint vvm.
Post what ever thoughts you have.
Woot, can't wait to try this!

No, I don't think it is, just another port of a better 2.1 sense rom.
10 min into install and initial setup...
1) What's TWLauncher? The Homescren Selector is nice, especially since it's functional....will have to install ADW and LPP to see if they show up as selectable. But I hadn't heard of TWLauncher before....so far, seems nice and plays well w/ the ROM.
2) I noticed my Build # shows NFX-Hero2.2.1, which is odd since I just wiped/flashed from CM6, and haven't used NFX since a day before THAT flash. The kernel version seems to have updated though. What's everyone else showing as build number?

It's the same build.prop as nfx. It was the only one I had that was Sprint based.
Twlauncher is the touchwiz launcher.

Nice and snappy here! One issue found with apps2sd - it appears that it won't allow for the Dalvik Cache to be setup in the cachepart. I get an error on 'a2sd check':
Dalvik Cache - [ ] Regular directory.
[ ] File .dalvikcachepart found.
[X] Dalvik runs from Int. Storage.
Setup Issue. Run a2sd repair to fix.
and then on 'a2sd repair' I get:
Dalvik Cache - [-] Regular directory.
[-] File .dalvikcachepart found.
[X] Dalvik runs from Int. Storage.
rm: cannot remove '/data/dalvik-cache': Device or resource busy
[*] Issue repaired.
But on 'a2sd check' it still shows the same error message, as above, etc.
And no other mods | kernels | OC/UV changes, etc., added at this point. Will flash the latest Darktremor A2SD to see if that helps any ...
Latest Darktremor A2SD (2.7.5 Final) was no help, hangs at 'ANDROID' boot screen.
Wiped everything then flashed ROM and then flashed 2.7.5 Final, then rebooted. System came up with Dalvik Cache set to internal. Set Dalvik Cache to SD cache partition and system auto-rebooted. On startup lots of FC's so I booted into recovery, wiped Dalvik Cache, and rebooted and system came up with lots of FC's again - I suppose the ROM just doesn't want to see the Dalvik Cache in the SD cache partition!
But then, placing the Dalvik Cache on the SD card but not in the cache partition does seem to work fine ...

I'm trying to update a LWP from the market but after it downloads it says it can't install due to 'insufficient storage'. I have roughly 45-47 apps (this includes apps, skins for better keyboard, and LWP's) after deleting a few apps and I still get this error. Any idea why? I'm holding off on going the APP2SD route until after the official 2.1 is released and our devs make it worthy of installation.
Under 'running services' it says: Avail 48mb+0.00b in 8 Other 0.00b in 4
In 'internal phone storage' it says: 19.02mb available
Currently running Fresh 2.0d
Also, does anyone know why Keepscreen from the market runs at startup? I only want to use it with Google Nav, which isn't often, and it bugs me that its in running services at every boot. If this cannot be adjusted, what similar app is out there than only runs when needed?
google nav stays up on its own for me, check the settings. And you may be out of room in the dalvik cache or the data/data section. Had that problem, so I enabled a2sd for dalvik cache, and no prob now. Running 102 apps, showing 88mb free internal storage.
Well I tried clearing cache using cachemate, cleared dalvik in recovery, and deleted 3 games bringing my available internal storage to 35mb and still can't update the LWP that has the update available.
Why isnt a2sd worthy of installation?
we had it on 1.5 with source and everything to it.
Its the same thing on 2.1, nothings changed.
The Only change would be on 1 rom that can use ext4 now.
When 2.1 is released a2sd wont be changed.
I get this error with handcent updates on fresh 2.0d also. After it errors I have to go into recovery and "fix apk uid" mismatches or i cant install it. Also i am using a2sd 2.5, Probably of no help, just sharing.
I had the same problem with 2 apps I tried to update and got out of memory errors.
I used root explorer and went to /data/data and deleted the app, after that I was able to install.

Oh its worthy, I made sure to buy a class 6 to use it. I just don't want to go through the trouble of setting it up until we get an optimized official 2.1 so I can format my card and get everything set so I don't have to make any big changes. I'm a bit burnt out from the dozen 2.1 flashes of different roms.

I just saw an update for another app and it worked, but still not the LWP. I uninstalled/reinstalled and everything is ok now. Go figure. My phone was also being really slow and a lot of processes were stalling after wiping dalvik but seems like its behaving now.
I mucked around with an updater script for Synergy last night to replace the built in CM A2SD with DT A2SD. It works. I've tested this on Nightly 6/15 and Nightly 6/16 and it works flawlessly. This should work with ANY ROM that uses the built-in CM A2SD, but I've only tested on Synergy. Let me know and I'll make changes here and there, but my main goal is having this work on Synergy, so I'm not going to be super supportive of other ROMs at the moment.
First of all:
All credit for DT a2sd goes to TKirton. I did NOT write the DT a2sd script. I just modified it to work with Synergy.
Update:
Tested successfully on Virus' Kingdom Revolution B1.3
Update:
This script will now automatically wipe Cache and Dalvik-Cache
What I did:
I updated (and re-signed) the original DT install script. It now looks for the presence of CM A2SD and removes it before installing DT. This is what was causing bootloops when trying to install it after a Synergy installation: The two A2SD programs were conflicting.
I have tested this on a wiped/fresh install as well as an install where I've completely set up the ROM (restored apps, set them up, etc) to my liking, and I had no issues.
Instructions:
NANDROID NANDROID NANDROID...I can't stress this enough. Just because it worked for me doesn't mean it will work for YOU (I can't see any reason why it wouldn't but better safe than sorry).
I have successfully installed this immediately after flashing both Kingom and Synergy ROMs before the first reboot. Your mileage may vary. Some ROM's need to boot once to set everything up which is why I suggest booting it the first time and THEN flashing the zip, but at least on Synergy and Kingdom it doesn't seem to be necessary.
Fresh install:
1. Flash Synergy
2. Let it boot. Set up your google account (or not if you want to do it later, it doesn't matter.)
3. Reboot into recovery and flash synergy-dtapps2sd-2.7.5.3-beta04-signed.zip
4. Reboot.
5. Your phone may reboot once or twice. You're not boot looping I promise.
6. Once it comes up you can check the installation by going into terminal (or adb shell) and typing 'a2sd check'. If the a2sd check screen comes up you're all set.
Installing after your ROM is set up:
1. Boot to recovery
2. Wipe cache and dalvik-cache (no longer necessary)
3. Flash synergy-dtapps2sd-2.7.5.3-beta04-signed.zip
4. Reboot
5. Your phone might/might not reboot a couple of times.
6. Once it comes up you can check the installation by going into terminal (or adb shell) and typing 'a2sd check' as above.
Usage:
Type a2sd help to get a list of commands. Some useful ones (to me) are:
a2sd cachesd (moves dalvik-cache to SD)
a2sd cachepart (moves dalvik-cache to /cache)
a2sd nocache (moves dalvik-cache to internal storage)
a2sd zipalign (performs a zipalign at boot time)
a2sd heapsizexx (changes the system heapsize. a2sd heapsize32 for example will make your heapsize...you guessed it, 32mb)
Those are the ones I'm mainly using. You can get the full list (including memory killer settings and such) by doing a2sd help from terminal or adb shell.
I found this after I already installed everything and set up my nightly 6/16. I still just nandroid'd and flashed it anyway... hope it works... haha...
Looks like it worked, from what you posted in Myn's thread. And that's the whole idea: You should be able install it whenever you want, in case you decide to tweak things after you have your ROM set up the way you want it. This method means not having to wipe/reinstall, which is a big plus as far as I'm concerned.
Gonna give this a try when once I Nand and switch to Synergy.
p.s. I'm in 19720 everyday. lol

Let me know how it goes. I updated it so it wipes cache and dalvik for you.
And I'm in 19701 now...gotta change that info. That's cool though.
Successfully tested on Virus Kingdom B1.3

The rom comes with dalvik-cache set up on the SD card. Flashing this moves it back to internal storage. It's a trade-off really. You'll lose about 130mb on /data, but you'll gain some speed.
Having said that, if your ROM is running quickly enough for you and it's stable...and if you don't feel the need to tinker with memory settings and such...leave it as it is. I never mess with something that's working for me. ("If it ain't broke, don't fix it.")
I've noticed the Synergy updater has a beta 5. What's the difference? Apologize but I didn't get a chance to read through all the posts on the warm 2.2 thread.

Edit: Changed it here as well.

Do you really have to partition? That may be a problem. I formatted my phone installed synergy restarted, wiped delvick then flashed the zip, and it installed. When the phone booted, I ran titanium to restore apps, and ran out of space. I dont think it worked right.
Successfull test!
Works great on 6/23 aka b1.4 kingdom! Love it! Unfortunately it doesn't work at all on new synergy-kingdom hybrid. That's ok, I like kingdom better anyway! Anyone have wake lock issues in 1.4 using this? Pri is 1.77 but still wakelocked after dalvik move
a2sd cachesd (moves dalvik-cache to SD)
a2sd cachepart (moves dalvik-cache to /cache)
a2sd nocache (moves dalvik-cache to internal storage)
a2sd zipalign (performs a zipalign at boot time)
a2sd heapsizexx (changes the system heapsize. a2sd heapsize32 for example will make your heapsize...you guessed it, 32mb)
What are the advantages of each one of these? Should I move dalvik-cache to sd,cache or internal storage? Is there a place to find out why to do zipalign or to change the system heapsize? I'm running the stock 8gb card that is partitioned. Thanks for any help.

If you could get this script working on the new Synergy Kingdom, I would be eternally grateful, as I'm having space issues on that ROM currently (and I really shouldn't be).
a2sd
Thanks for the break down. Never fully understood how to use this. Big improvement in performance. Using partition to its proper use. Played with Heap size and got it as low as I could (15) and am very happy with the changes. Any one who has not done this SHOULD.

the color scheme in my pictures are messed up a little im sorry but you get the idea of the rom
I have asked this question in the eyecandy ice cream sandwich thread but no one has said anything. evertime i try to load swype from the beta invite email it goes all the way until i hit to 'fetching swype beta download' then you pic 'swype beta' then is says "parse error, there is a problem parsing the package".
i have even loaded up sense roms and any rom i flash it always says the same thing. every time i flash a rom i run a "wipe sensation" program thengo thru the usual data wipe, cache wipe, them flash rom, then go back and wipe dalvic cache and fix permissions. same combo i have been doing for a year or so.
does anyone have any insight to this problem? I really miss not having swype.

does anyone have any insight to this problem? I really miss not having swype.

It's not just you man. I've been trying this for days. I'm on an HTC sensation running elegancias sense 4. I have no idea what's up with it. Not having swype sucks
Did you try pushing it to system/app?
have not tried it on your ROM, but on the MIUI v4, this worked for me.
Its a flashable swype.

I was getting this error with other apks when my memory card was corrupt. Try a different memory card maybe?
This was happening for me a few days ago. Then resolved itself, however it has started again. It's not only you. A lot of people are reporting it on their forums.

Hi I am running ordroid rom and replying to this post using swipe. No problems here. Just enable it in settings. I even choose the color of my swipe. Works perfectly just like with stock. But yes, you do have to enable it first for it to work. Not sure about other Roms but I can confirm ordroid 8.6.5 is running swipe perfectly. Hope this helps.

Does not work. Someone has a working version of the installation?
Flash version worked great! Thanks!
There's nothing wrong with your phone.
It seems they forgot to upload the file on their servers; at least this is what they're saying on their forum
http://forum.swype.com/showthread.p...a-Error-Download-Failed-Password-Reset/page12
Hopefully they'll have a fix soon..

Thanks so much for the flash zip. I kept trying to download via swype installer but no luck. Flashed this and set to default input in keyboard settings and it works beautifully! Gonna keep this one for backup.

Swype error - permission problem?
Guys/Gals,
I also found another error in alogcat, that could be the issue... it says "Not granting permission android.permissions.INSTALL_PACKAGE to package com.swype.android.installer (protectionlevel=3 flags=0xae44)"
Not sure, but it may be the issue. Anybody know how to allow that permission for this app?
*edit* tried copying the installer app to system/app , but that does not do anything. I am also getting the FileNotFound exception, but that could be a problem with Swype installer in ICS...
The flashable file worked like a charm, boom... I've been having the same issue with parsing errors. I guess the dummies from Swype have not fixed the problem yet.
Thanks rolltideburr
I am trying TouchPal now (free in google play)... so far quite good (better than SlideIT). If Swype wants to scare their beta users away, they are making a good effort of it.
Here is how I got Swype back:
If any of you have a NAND backup of before you lost Swype, you can pull out com.swype.android.input (or something very similar) from the backup and extract it. Once extracted and restored (app + data), wipe cache and dalvik and go enable it in Settings --> Language and Input. BAM!!! You got Swype!!
The ROM is retired. The final version can be downloaded from here:

This is a tweaked versions of CARBON-JB-UNOFFICIAL-B11 so all credit goes to killersloth for the ROM. Without his work this ROM wouldn't be possible. So if you like this ROM please go to the CARBON ROM thread and click the "Thanks" button.
Changes Made:
Replaced Trebuchet launcher with Nova launcher.
Replaced stock gallery with Sony Z Album and Movie app (Facebook & Twitter integration working.)
Added Sony Z Walkman app with UPNP/DLNA Media Server.
Replaced the default kernel with the kernel from CM10.1 Stable by verygreen.
Added BeatsAudio+xLoud+ClearAudio for audio effects and ViPER4Android for the sound engine. Settings I am using.
Added Mobile BRAVIA® Engine for improved video processing.
Modified Adobe Flash 11.1 with Hulu support.
Host level ad blocking. If you are having issues with adblocking see attachments to remove it.
Forced all rendering to be done on the GPU. Should help with gaming and make things more smoother. To help improve performance even further see this post.
GoogleEars.
Kick Ass Kernelizer
Auto-zipalign and defragdb on boot
Auto Calibration on boot. Only does a few programs each boot. So may take a few reboots to calibrate all of them.
Plus many improvements taken from this thread.
I also added some terminal commands.
Run each command with SU first then the command.
fixfc - Fix apps force closing.
sclean - Clean the dalvik cache and cache partition
v6 - run the V6 SuperCharger script. I would run this as soon as the ROM is setup..
Know bugs
Not a bug as such but something you should be aware of. It does take a few reboots to optimise all the apps.
V4A XHiFi may do a hot reboot when first getting root, same with Root Browser. This will only happen once and will work fine afterwards. This is only normally an issue if you try getting ROOT on first boot. On the second reboot this doesn't happen.
Wifi will turn off then back on while it is setting up wl1271-nvs.bin. Once the file is created Wifi shouldn't disconnect.
Any more issues please report them.

If you would like to use the WALKMAN app from the Sony Xperia Z Ultra you can do so by flashing this: Xperia-Ultra_WALKMAN_SemcMusic.zip. Make sure you boot into the ROM before flashing. If you flash this without booting into the ROM first it will not work.
Most of the features in the Sony Xperia Z Ultra WALKMAN are working but "Music Unlimited" service isn't.
Thank you, I will give it a try.
Do we use the gapps from the original carbon threads?
And how do you flash the scrips? Just like any other zip file? Can it be done when installing this ROM ?

I just added the scripts as a separate download so other devs can take a look at them without downloading the whole ROM. All the scripts are included in the ROM. Everything you need is built into the ROM. Just download it and install.
unstable
I installed on top of Carbon B9 without wiping anything and everything was forceclosing. Then I wiped cache partiion and Dalvick cache and reinstalled ,it was usable thistime but several apps still forceclosing including Chrome,I went back to Carbon.

If you did not install with full wipe I am note sure it is fair to mark it as unstable. Did you even attempt to clear the app data for the apps foreclosing?
have not tried this yet but just thought labeling the effort as unstable prior to proper install is not fair.

Just installed with full wipe restoring apps and data from TB. So far everything is ok.
Feels slightly less laggy than B9.
Dunno about battery life yet.
This is working great for me.
I did a dirty flash over RootBox and it's really nice.
Been the best rom for me on my Nook so far. Pinguy1982, please keep the thread updated mate.
Only issue I had was my usual
Android.process.acore has stopped
Which I resolved by following the text below. (cribbed from somewhere on the net)
If you go to Settings/Applications/Manage Applications/ then choose the All tab. Scroll down to Contacts open it and clear the data cache. Now do the same again but this time open Contact Storage and also clear the data cache. This issue is related to an Android bug and affects many devices. It's related to apps that use the sync function.
Works for me.
Cheers all

I agree completely and would urge the poster to revise his comment or certainly remove the subject. Way too hasty and unfair to make such a quick judgment certainly in the absence of a full or data wipe.

Sorry if I offended you.My understanding is that you wipe data only if you are installing in place of different ROM.It was carbon on top of Carbonand I did not feel I needed to wipe data partition.

Dude it's all cool. But I have changed a fair bit to the ROM so just installing over it probably won't work. I have made drastic changes to how dalvik works so using pre-installed apps from a previous install probably won't work.

Do you mind building a version for the Nook HD ?
so using apps from titanium backup would be a problem?

Apps no, dalvik cache maybe. Restoring apps settings and the apps won't be a problem, but using the dalvik cache might be.
The cache is in /data/dalvik-cache. Using that maybe an issue.

thanks.I always clear out dalvik cache anyway when I try new stuff. I was thinking of trying it. the new build of cm 10.1 seems to match up with my tablet perfectly so we will see. thanks for the ROM. the more the better

I did this too, but wiped dalvik, no force closes, but status bar is gone and can't get it back... going to try flashing again...
Just flashed a couple of hours ago and seems pretty rad so far. I'll give it some time to "settle" before passing judgement. Definitely like the idea!
Good to see more options around here. My hat goes off to all devs.

Just flashed it ... Can't see the option "Reboot into recovery" when holding the power button. Is there anyone I can enable it ?

Battery drain so far seems to be no worse than B9 for me.
Definitely like this ROM, it is faster and smoother than any other I tried for my Nook, seems quite stable as well (no random reboots etc.)
