CM6 and apps not in the market - EVO 4G Themes and Apps

I'm using cm6 and in my market I can't find games like Angry Birds, Flick Kick field goal...I'm sure there are others that aren't showing. Does anyone know a fix for this? Its a great RoM but I need my market to work =\

The market works fine with cm6..As far as Angry Birds a lot of people have reported not being able to find it on other ROM's not just cm6.

I am having same problem. I cant find any of those.

I'm having issues just downloading/installing apps from the Market on Fresh 3.2

I have them all on Baked Snack, but as soon as I switch to CM I can no longer find them.

Crap, so it is a CM6 issue then =\
That kinda sucks

I just flashed CM6 and can no longer find Angry Birds in the Market. Plenty of them around my house, though. Evil things.

but you can use that script to remove sense stuff...
Thats my plan.

what the F88K i just noticed this as well :/

Yea, it's pretty gay..
Going to a sense rom and removing sense just isn't the same as using cm6 ...this rom gives me by far the best performance and battery life out of any of them! Hopefully it can be fixed

There's a workaround of sorts I used. You have to use AppBrain.
Get an account at appbrain.com.
Install the AppBrain Market and Fast Web Install on your phone.
Find the Fast Web Installer in your app list and activate it.
Find Angry Birds and whatever else you want that's not on the gapps market that you want at the appbrain website and click install to phone.
It should automatically be pushed to your phone and ready to play
The only problem I've encountered is that you can't update it from the phone since it's unable to take you to the market entry.
Hope this helps.

Why don't you just download apk from developers site or switch back to sense and use TB? You can also use regaws new zip tool to backup.
sent from VooDooPhone

What about using TI backup while on a Sense ROM, flash CM6 and restore with TI once finished. Would that work?

I may end up doing that... but its just a pain. How do we know that these 2 apps are the only ones not showing? There has to be others that aren't .. I don't want to have to go through all that mess whenever a new app that I'd like to try gets released..
I do appreciate the tips tho, I will prolly go that route eventually...but if it doesn't get fixed, then I guess I'll have to research the best sense rom/kernel ><

Add this to your build.prop file:
ro.build.fingerprint=sprint/htc_supersonic/supersonic/supersonic:2.2/FRF91/218634:user/release-keys
and comment out (#) the one you have. This was done on the 3.28 leaked ROM to fix missing market apps. I don't use CM6, but it the ROM base was updated to a newer version then this *might* be the problem.

It might brick your phone, it might permanently break 4G, it might kill your kitten.
I take no responsibility for any problems from this ROM, including but not limited to poor reception, deleting your entire Facebook account, or causing nuclear warfare.
It is also not much of an original work. I basically just get my kanging on with some ROMs before I load them, and someone had mentioned they might be interested.
Basically I am an AOSP fan, and really liked Bugless Beast 0.4. As bugs were found and Pete moved away from the EVO tjohnsonjr's NonSense became the spiritual successor for some of us. This ROM just takes it a small step further.
Removed
- Device Self Service
- Boot up sound
Added
- AOSP Calendar
- Eliot Stocker Music app (from CM and DC)
- BB v.4 launcher and home
- Bugless Beast Tips
- I put the Adobe Flash apk in, haven't tested it yet
- Quick Boot
- Spare Parts
- multitouch keyboard (also has AOSP and HTC IME)
- Lots of FCs
Uninstallable
- Beast Tips
- Adobe Flashplayer <- might or might not work
- quickboot
- Corp Cal
- ES File Explorer
- HTC Photo Album <- might break something
- Spare Parts
- Sprint TV
- Sprint VVM
- Weather <- might break something
I left the HTC browser, because it will still support double tap to resize, and the HTC copy and paste tool. It just sucks that it only allows 4 tabs. I did not put in a lot of the stuff people typically put in like Rom Manager, Titanium Backup, etc. since they will be out of date so soon anyway.
I have been mostly using CM6 instead of this, and had to kinda remake it, and it isn't very well tested. In fact I am currently in Mexico on vacation so I haven't been able to test the phone or data connections.
If you find something wrong, just post it here so I can ignore it, or maybe make fun of you. If it breaks your phone, you are welcome to whine here. If you post your mailing address I will either send a new phone to you to replace it, or stick a smelly dead fish in your mailbox, or not do anything at all. More than likely the last option.
I don't know why you would want to run this instead of a smooth running ROM that has actually had bugs fixed and won't FC every 3 minutes. CM6 is really strong as a 2.2 right now, and the official 2.2 is kinda out/will be out for real in days. DC and Fresh and NonSense and Baked Snack and many others are killer 2.1 ROMs that give you more features, stability, and battery life than stock. I sure don't plan to run this, or support it. Those guys really know what they are doing.... I can't even figure out how to change the default wallpaper without breaking stuff.
This ROM is just lame.
If you are still interested I suggest talking to a doctor. And you can grab it from the link right here.
Of course a big thanks to all the people I have totally mooched off of. I'm missing some, but off the top of my head.

It's not really BB 4, but I THINK it won't have the awake bug. The awake bug seems to have something to do with all the stuff he pulled out. The NonSense ROM is much more conservative on what it removes (HTC Dialer is still in there for instance).
What do people like about Bugless Beast? The more I know what in particular to bring over, the better this will be.
I could also try to grab BBv4 and fix it, but it is pretty old at this point (pre 1.47) and it doesn't seem worth the effort.
That said, if I keep this going it will more than likely become a CM6 base with tweaks, since it is true AOSP, not just sense with AOSP apps hacked in.

As long as someone at least got a giggle out of the OP, even if no one runs the ROM, it is a success.
What do you guys want out of a Froyo build that isn't already in CM6? Things are too crazy at work right now to have something out very soon, but I'm game to do more. I just don't know what AOSP people want that isn't already in CM.

[Q] Is alt rom still needed to make gtab better

Noobie here so please be kind.
I have been reading posts for only a couple of weeks and was wanting to try tnt lite 4.2 but what I can't understand is it really needed after the OTA update. Is there any real advantage? I get the handango market and play "angry birds" just fine. I guess what I am asking is it still worth it?
I have install cwm but just wanted some input before I pulled the trigger.
I have not done it
I am using their stock ROM without any issues for the past month now. Switched to the classic home and it has been working great. Yaa there is no android market, but there are lots of other places to get apps and you can easily side load apps and they have been working great for me! I don't think I will be changing the ROM on mine (maybe if someone gets honeycomb going on it then I might reconsider).
Hope this helps!
I use stock 3588 with the enhancement pack. Stablest I have seen yet. Ran both Vegan and TNT Lite and liked them, but little intricacies caused my to go back. Sounds like there is an OTA in the works that looks pretty sweet.
TnT seems to be cooking up an update that, if released, will add a LOT of the speed enhancements that TNT Lite has had for the last 2 months.
You'd still want a custom ROM for full market, root, adhoc and a few other things - but I agree that TnT is getting better with each update they make. I hope that continues.
I'm also using stock with enhancement pack. Market is still somewhat limited as compared to my Droid 1 but you can side load.
Problem with side loading is the malware. Even GAM has been getting some nasty bugs. TNTlite has been very stable and faster. I ran stock until a week ago.
I just ordered one of these. I didnt do my research until after I bought it. I didnt realize it doesnt have the android market. So, I'm guessing it doesnt have the google apps either??? Like no gmail, youtube, etc?
Can you just get the market apk and side load it and have the full android market?

No need for that if all you want is market. Either install the enhancement pack, whuch gives you market plus more, or get the GoogleServicesFramework.apk and Vending.apk and put them in /system/app.

And it starts! LOL the non researching 10k+ crew are probably flooding the xda as we speak trying to figure out why this thing isn't what they expected
I like to think of it as a Pinto engine in a Ferrari lol, You just need to swap out the rom with tnt lite or another great rom and you will be juuuuuuust fine. Most of all roms come with market prebuilt in. If you want to stick with stock Viewsonic 2.2... well then IDK what your thinking lol
is there a way to get Gmail contacts and Google Calendar without flashing a different rom. I plan on keeping the stock rom most likley BUT really want gmail-contacts-calendar sync with google . ( dont care as much about market as I sideload)

[Q] The CyanogenMod...

Just a simple question... What are the pros of this ROM... I see it's many people use it and I would like to give it a try... But what's the advantage in using it?
Thanks
I've been curious about this as well. I've never really tried one. Some people are reporting CM7 is a touch buggy on the Inspire.
It's still in development but its a work of art. No silly interfaces that hog system resources, just vanilla aosp. A pure android experience.

I'm on RC4 at the moment and the GPS is good to go.
Another PRO for CM7 is the amount of themes for it. A lot of different choices out there.
Ok i m running it and i must admit I m IMPRESSED!
The Inspire is my first Android phone so i m not really used to have different 'OS' on it... I used to have a Jailbroken Iphone but it's not quite the same...
Anyways so far the only complaint is that i wasn't able to import all my contacts from the Titanium Backup ... That's annoying

Yeah, you may be fresh on it, but where it really gets fun is when you go into the Cyanogenmod settings and really customize it to how you want it. I got my favorite toggles in the window CM ftw
Should we use RC4 or the Nightly?
Is the rom stable? I've seen some complain about the GPS. That's a pretty important aspect of my day to day life. I wouldn't be able to put up with in not functioning. It would be like being back on my Captivate... /shiver.
What are the other negatives for us CM7 newbs?

Yep... But It looks like my contacts' phone numbers are not sync with my g account...
Anyways I solved the way I planned... Beside that this ROM is awesome... it's super customizable as I wanted it... I always wondered though if a "plain" or "generic" ROM versus a Stock ROM specifically designed for the phone doesn't indeed limit the device... It might be a stupid question but still...

No for sure you are right if we think about all the background processes which aren't running in a ROM like CM... I'm just still trying to figure out the purpose of Sense to be honest...
I mean this is my first android device (I have a nook bu it's not rooted) and I decided to go with android because of its freedom.. now what I m trying to get is "is it like a computer where you have a bunch of hardware parts and you can install whatever SO or you need a proper-fitted software to run the device correctly?"

Go to Settings -> Accounts and Sync -> *your Google Account* and put a check next to Sync Contacts (and everything else). By default it's not checked for some reason.
Also I don't know if this applies on the Inspire like it does on the Evo, but if you get wakelocks or high system usage, go to Privacy -> uncheck Backup Data to Google (don't worry, your emails and contacts and stuff will still get synced. This is just your list of installed apps).

G2X Rom Comparison Chart

I have started a comparison chart for the currently available ROM's for the G2X. Since we are just getting started with this device it seems like a great time.
I have made the spreadsheet editable by anyone, I encourage and would appreciate any help with keeping it current. I also do not mind any improvements you see fit, such as adding or changing columns, conditional formatting etc. I just put this together in the time I had available today and it is a rough draft. I know some of you here have much more experience in using Google docs and making something like this so do your thing! I'd like this to be a community project.
PLEASE do not intentionally falsify any information or in any way harm the integrity of this project, we all benefit from this site and there is nothing funny about ruining this for others. Also, I will make a nightly backup.
I can't seem to embed this into the post so here is a link.

Bionix has kernel .1.1 according to its changelog?
It seems you are trying to make a point or something with the voodoo lagfix?
If none of the phones have it, why would there be a column then?? The column would only be necessary if one of the roms had it. Why put it in there?
We will never have a lag-fix as we already have a great file system (ext3 and ext4) only reason that would be needed is for Samsungs ****ty rfs file system. Might as well remove it from the chart
Good comparison chart though. ^^
Edit: Oh and mine does have spare parts, boot and shutdown animation changed as well

You know what, I actually re-flashed my old vibrant for the wife to use the same day I flashed my first ROM onto this phone so I remembered hearing the lagfix lady while I was flashing a ROM on here and so I thought.. well, maybe it was a little late when I put this together. Column removed.
Once again, if there is something silly like this that you guys see please feel free to make the change, I'm not claiming ownership of this spreadsheet.

Hi tweezit! Thanks for taking the time to reply. I am running your ROM now and its sexy Updated your info.
Removed the lagfix column, I guess it had just become a permanent part of my psyche.
Should I replace with a file system column (ext3 or ext4)? Or is that not important?
Also, is it safe to assume everyone is running the same base band at the moment?

Thanks for the info faux! I promise its nothing personal that yours was lacking. I actually think your ROM is brilliant, and your a bit of a genius![/suckup] I'm just sticking to froyo for now.
I really appreciate you guys (devs) posting in here. I've been working long days I just wanted to get this out there even as a really rough draft so it didn't just become a bigger and bigger task I don't get around to. I
Added Gigglebread and File System column.
Thanks to everyone who has edited with more info!
This is going to sound petty, but can we add a column for HD recording support? I know the leaked build doesn't support it (that's why I went back to stock), do any of the custom ROMs support it yet that are not Froyo-based? I presume all froyo ROMs would support HD recording with the LG camera apk.

[SOLVED] Can I Copy Spare Parts from CM7 to Infused?

What kind of problems would I be looking at if I copied/installed the Spare Parts apk from CM7 over to the Infused v2.0.2 ROM? Would it work or would it seriously screw me up? I'm only interested in getting it because I have screen density set to 200 right now and some of my apps don't fit the entire screen. I've found fixes on a couple of the apps, but not all. I remember on my Aria there was an option I chose in spare parts and it forced everything to resize. I think it was the compatibility mode setting. I don't want to install CM7 just yet. Waiting on bluetooth support.
BTW, I did search first but didn't find the answer in any other forum. However, my search-fu is kinda weak. lol
Thanks for any help!

The market version has advertisements added. Really shady if you ask me, taking a free open source app, putting ads into it, and then throwing it up on the market.

I noticed a few months ago that a few guys had done that....added a feature or two...mostly ui changes...then called it their own and charged for it as well as offered a free/with ads version.
Seeing more and more of that

Wow, I had no idea it was in the market. haha. thanks everybody that did the trick for the most part. Some of the apps are still not the right size but it fixed the ones I use the most. I really appreciate the quick responses.

The one I downloaded appeared to have a few more options. It also had ads at the bottom, but oh well.
