First off I would like to thank jmxp69 for his AWESOME kernel,Spicy_Tuna for the amazing turbo and stalte for his hulufix.zip.
I have been told that SNAP would not work on any sense rom AT ALL by many devs and members. Soooo, I like proving people wrong lol. I am no developer I am just a constant brainstormer.
I have had SNAP work on the following roms Fresh 3.2, Evio 1.2, Virus Rom, and the stock rom rooted. The turbo optioned I have only been able to to install on Fresh 3.2. After turbo installed it caused bootloops in which I reflashed fresh and the snap kernel without wiping then rebooted. Fresh loaded right up with the low internal memory usage the same thing I get with cm6. Turbo was enabled. The snap kernel ran flawlessly on sense roms with the exception of 4g, hdmi, and fm radio because the kernel does not support it at this time. Turbo on Fresh was enabled but actually slowed down the kernel a little bit. If the programming was written for sense roms I believe that it would work as stated TURBO.
I know that cyan and snap are all about aosp. But it is my theory that if we added HTC's support to the snap kernel and pushed HTC's Wimax files to cm6, 4G would be accomplished. Well enough of my BS. Here is how to make SNAP work on SENSE.
As always make sure you NANDROID and I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone.
You do not have to start with a blank slate but if you wish wipe data, cache, and dalvik. I always wipe twice you don't want any pillies lol. Otherwise you can flash right over your existing rom.
1. Flash SNAPv7.6 found on jmxp69's thread.
2. Flash hulufix.zip thanks STALTE. This is the ancient chinese secret. This changes the stagefright so you do not hear demon voices on hulu. It also allows for SNAP to install on a SENSE rom.
3. Reboot, Don't worry it will hang on splash for up to 5 mins before loading.
You can try turbo but it will not do anything since it is written for cm6. Maybe spicy_tuna could rewrite it for sense but I doubt it. They will never come over to the DARK side lol.
If someone has discovered this then you can call me an idoit lol. Everything I read on the xda forums said it can't and won't work.

To the OP What's working and what is not working and how is the battery life ?
results with cm6>*
here is my highest so far on cm6 with turbo bfs kernal oc'd to 1.19
This was mainly a test to run snap on sense based roms. They said it can not be done. I made it work.
As stated there is no 4g, HDMI, or FM radio.
For battery life it is the best snap on cm6 to date. Not bad at all on sense either. Kings is slightly better for battery life and everything works. Although it is quite snappy on sense. If you do not need 4g then fire away

Correct. Snap has not implied these in the kernel yet since none of these work on cm6 either as of yet. If I could compile kernels I would add htcs support to jmxm69's snap kernel and it would work I believe.

theres alottttt of differences in the aosp kernel and the sense kernel it would probably be easier to compile all of jmxps changes to the aosp kernel onto the sense kern turbo would have to be rewritten though
hmm unless his changes are non kernel specific then there may not be a way his changes arent on his github haha

from what i understand, its not as simple as to just incorporate htc's 4G stuff into the CM6 kernal. it would have already be done if it was that easy

Nah, getting 4g into the kernel isn't the hard part. That's working. The difficulty is getting HTCs unreleased Froyo framework ported over to CM6.
I'm getting consistent high 1500s. For some reason I'm scoring low even with the previous netarchy kernel.
I'm only getting 1300s with that now. Cm6 w/snap has cores high as 1800 on my phone.
*yawn* Why on Earth would you want to ruin Snap on Sense? You might as well just run netarchy's kernel.
As for scores? Still getting 2600+ thanks to Turbo, which you'll never have outside of CM6.

Really depends on what you want. Liberty is very empty on stock but very fast, DS is stocked with blur/ and minimal bloatware, very fast as well. It all depends on your flavor. I think liberty is great for a super modder/hacker, but DS is everyday fast and everyday stable for the everyday user

I have been running this ROM for a couple weeks now and I have yet to find anything negative. I have flashed just about all the other ROMs on my DROID X and DS continues to blow them away with its overall stability, but best of all is the speed. This ROM is flat out FAST!!! I would say Liberty 1.5 and Apex 1.4 are tied for second place, but thats a distant second. Thanks to the devs!!!(all ROM devs)

to be honest the theme selection is low due to ds already being so heavily and nicely themed already,,,,,here is one

and some have reported using the universal theme cookers successfully as well
I've used both DS and Liberty and...
I like Liberty a lot more for the sole reason that the customization options that Liberty offers are far beyond that of DS.
This all depends, as midgetgrimm stated, on what you are looking for...

I really like this rom so far. The only complaint is the battery, compared to liberty..
That was fixed using juice defender and super power apps anyways.
The only serious thing is that there is no way to import contacts from the SD card. Most of my text messages, the sender is in my contacts, and it doesn't show their name. Instead, it shows the full #..
Also, anyone have some cool green backgrounds or docks?
For the Contacts Import, did you try this using the actual Contacts App? or just by going to the Dialer and going to your contacts from there? (Dumb question I know, but doesn't hurt to ask)
Also, If you don't mind using a Wallpaper App, then try out Zedge. It's a Wallpaper and Ringtone browser. If you get Zedge, then just do a search for "green" (this is how I found some pretty nifty color specific Wallpapers).
It didn't work in the contacts app, I had to change all my #'s to include a "1" in the beginning of the #..
This rom is awesome though, no freezes or issues at all.

Personally I would go with CM7, but I hate Sense and the inevitable lag that always comes with Sense ROM's. CoreDroid has to be the best Sense ROM I've tried, though.
MIUI Inspire 4G
Dilligaf has a really smooth ROM with Sense, too. I'd be back on it if I weren't digging MIUI so much.
Non-Sense Roms and Sync?
Do you lose the ability to sync to your PC with HTC Sync if you are using a ROM without the Sense UI?

In my experience if you cover the mic on the back you will sound muffled to callers on the other end of a phone call. That could be one way to test.

I think that Sense is the best of the skins out there comparing it to motoblur and touchwiz especially but it will always be the least of all evils instead of actually adding something to my user experience with Android.

The running battery life is definitely worse than stock, but not too bad. I'm using SetCPU to limit the clock to 375 whenever the display is turned off, and that has helped my standby/sleeping battery life noticeably.

Nice. They also posted that the S is coming off soon.
i didn't know what CM7 was, so i went to check it out. found a youtube video with a guy doing a detailed review of CM7 on a galaxy S (not S2). and, i gotta say the performance was absolutely mindblowing. if my sensation was just half as smooth as that... MAN. what astonished me most was how easy he pulled down the notification bar... just a swipe down from the top and it came down, following his finger perfectly in a buttery smooth motion. that does not work at all on my sensation. in fact i stopped trying to swipe the notification bar down cause it's too hard to accomplish, always takes 3 or more swipes to do it - and when it finally comes down, compared to that CM7 on galaxy S video, it stutters down and looks just awful while doing it. damn. i felt really good about my sensation (coming from a blackstone touch hd) but now that i've watched that video... i'm pissed at HTC for making my phone look like a weakling compared to older single core android phones... when i decided to get the sensation, i never would have thought that the UI responsiveness and overall snappieness were going to be my biggest issues with this 1,2 GHz DUAL CORE "uberphone".
i know this doesn't exactly belong in this thread, sorry. didn't feel like it was worth opening another *****ing-about-the-performance-thread.

Will be good to see CM7 on Sensation in the future, I just hope it performs well. When I had my Desire I found CM7 to be a tad buggy (random restarts mostly and boot loops) even on a stable release, same thing on a friends Desire HD. For this reason I turned away from CM7 and flashed LeeDrOid.
I'm currently running Android Revolution HD on my Sensation but when CM7 comes out for it I'll give it a go.

When in doubt, fastboot wipe, then flash, then don't set up right away but let it sit there on the sign-in screen for 5 minutes before you touch it.

why the hell would you WANT Sense on a custom rom?? Sense is what makes your phone BUGGY and SLOW! My first phone was the original Desire (bought it in China, brought back to the US, unable to use 3G as a result of it being a European model with no American radio bands) with stock Froyo and 2.2. I rooted it and put CM7 on (2.3.3, later updated to 2.3.4 as a result of the nightlies).. it easily ran 3x faster and much smoother...
CM > all.
Sense = garbage, even 3.0..
I could have picked up another Sensation while I was in China for Steve to abuse, lol..
Really hope this comes out soon.... Tired of all of these sense port roms. I just want my stock gingerbread.... I can't believe that I miss my nexus one because of this...
I'm using the Stock UCLA3 debloated but am having a hard time deciding which ROMs to try out there are just so many.
I guess thread activity is probably the best indicator of most popular. In that case it's Sky Ics by a long shot with over 4k replies and 400k views.
Just so you know the most popular ROM might not be the one you like best, read all the OPs of the ROM pages and see which one fits your needs best.
Sky ics is really good but make sure you flash a ucla3 kernel with it like faux 10 or romracers stockish .3, since you're using the ucla3 radio

A lot of replies and views may also mean a lot of people are having problems and asking questions

+1 to this. Thread activity does not equal popularity. You just have to read the threads through and get a feel for everybody's opinions and to see common issues or lack thereof.

I think, well imo, that TPC has been the most stable ROM out there. I've tried so many popular roms like sky ics, buoyancy, cyanotouchwiz. But I always end up go back to TPC. The 2nd rom I'd choose would be sky ics. It is fast and smooth except only one thing:
It has an issue with force close and I THINK I know how it happens - some widgets won't work on homepage. For instance 3D flip clock. Whenever you add the widget on the homepage, it will force close right away.
Overall TPC is more stable and saves more battery life. I use the phone a lot and I end up with 20% after 12 hours use. Hope it helps

I second this, TPC is by far the most stable. Coupled with UCLA3 and faux kernel 0.10 and ur laughing
Nexus Mod4 , so far has been rock solid on my phone. I was gonna use Cyanogen, but their Alpha build is way too buggy.

I have been running MHX-Superlite 2 with Faux's 009 kernel and all I can say is WOW! Stable, fast, and best of all the battery life is amazing.
You should upgrade to 3.0...its way better

Have used both sky ics and nexusmod. I like both but you should test out the roms yourself. Its all personal preference.

MHX-Superlite! thats what it was!
cause idk about this StockMod 2 everyone is talking about..
Just kidding you should really just check them out all at least all the new UCLA3 based ROMS, Sky-ice just doesnt seem right anymore with it being based off 2.3.5 and UXKJ2 so i reccomend going for a UCLA3 ROM.
Using MHX-SUPERLITE 3.0. Not have one problem. Fast smooth and great battery life
