HELP! Stuck at Samsung Screen - Epic 4G Android Development

Did I brick it???
I'm on a mac... what can I do?

Bricked... Hope you have Bootcamp or a Friend with a PC,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773032 < Takes like 10 mins easy.

damn. Wish there was a developer out there who would make android a more mac friendly device... especially with bricking
I had to use a school computer that somehow let me install the driver... went through 10 pc's only to be blocked
But still its a pain to know if I really want to get creative.... I need a pc to fix my errors haha

HELP!!!! my SGS 4G is Hardbricked

Help i think my dad's phone is hard bricked i can hold the power button for hours it dose nothing i pressed, held, used all combinations, swapped battery, tryed with only usb, nothing works its just dose nothing, plz help
this is what i did
1. i went here to fix download mode
HTML:
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/fix-3-button-combo-download-recovery-mode-in-samsung-galaxy-s-gt-i9000/
2. i used odin and i flashed the file then i unplugged the phone and realized it was not starting
3. i went back to the site and realized it was for the GT not the 4G
4. i searched for hours and i found nothing on how to unbrick
5.i realized it was time to ask for help, if this dose not work i will just try to return the phone and get a new one
and no i did not try the usb jig,or jtag
The best thing I can suggest outside of the jig/jtag is this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1333424
Best of luck to you.
@Stephen_w is probably correct.
It looks like you flashed another phone's ROM, which is always bad.
I can understand the confusion because the "Galaxy S" was listed as supported by CM7 so I bought this phone only to realize (after the fact) that this specific model was not supported.
Regardless, the more "extreme" ways of fixing your phone may be needed. I hope a more knowledgeable person will disagree, but a jtag or a soldering gun may be needed to save your phone. Good luck.
Try one of the heimdall one clicks. It's kind of a last resort thing, but it might work for you. Should be a few in the dev section.

It doesn't matter if it's in download mode. It'll still get detected. Try the one click.
The debrick method that stephen linked you to will work even if the phone is completely dead. They've revived phones that have flashed wrong roms with wrong bootloaders just like you did.

It can be, depending on the type of brick you have. I'd try it as long as I didn't have to open up my phone and modify the hardware.

Raver made it a little while back, but it might also work.
You wouldn't happen to know about Linux would you?
umm yea i know about it why?
i tryed it but it didn't work either

If you have Linux installed I think you have a better chance of recovering your phone. The way windows handles drivers for a brick phone might not let it detect. It's more likely it'll work on Linux.
ok well im going to download virtual box and linux and see if it works then
until then thanks! =D
Try wubi with ubuntu instead. It'll let you install linux like it's a windows program. Virtualbox uses windows' driver system to pass devices from the host to the client.
ok so im downloading unbutu now , and your saying not to download virtual box
never mind i get it now, lol i feel slow, i know windows good but im not so good with linux but i understand what your saying now
There are also distributions of Linux that let you run it 'live' off of the CD without installing. I'm sure FB, myself, and others can assist you with the Linux side of the house.
Ha. I hadn't even thought of running the live cd.
What stephen is saying is that once you download and burn the ISO image for ubuntu you can leave the cd in your cd drive and reboot. Your computer should give you an option to boot from CD in the bios, or like mine, it gives you a key (mine is esc) to press when the computer turns on so that you can pick which device to boot from.
Once you're in Linux download the debricker that I linked you to, plug your phone into the USB port and run the debricker. Due to the way that Linux handles USB devices it's more likely to get detected.

Issues connecting to PC (GT-P3113)

I have a GT-P3113 and I cannot get the drivers to install on my Windows 8 64bit or my Windows 7 32bit pc's. I get an unknown device error and no matter what I do I cannot get it to connect. I have a Galaxy Note 2 which I have not had any issues with but I need to root my tablet so I can remove some apps for my daughters. Please help me as I have spent the last 2 hours on google and here trying everything to get this to be fixed.

I dont know how many times I have installed and reinstalled Kies and Windows trying to get this thing to work. No matter what I do I cannot get the damn thing to recognize by any pc. Does anyone know of a way to install CWM or TWRP from Stock recovery with files from External SD card. Im at my wits end and im ready to throw this thing across the room.
Try uninstalling Lies using an uninstaller app like Revo. This will help make sure you have all references wiped from your computer. Reboot your computer then reinstall Kies. Do you have your tablet set on "USB debugging"? The other remote possibility is a bad cord. I am running Win 8 64 bit and didn't have any trouble. Thank if this helps.
Sent from my GT-P3113 using XDA Premium HD app
Unplug the device. Hold down the volume down and power buttons and wait. Don't let go of them. The device will take a screenshot, but will after turn off. Let go once you see a screen talking about installing custom os's. Press the button that says yes (I think it is volume up) and it will say 'downloading' with a picture of an android. Plug in your device and then try.
Hope this helps!

[Q] Need some help...

Just got the OPO yesterday, love the phone so far but it's not showing up on my PC after clicking on Android debugging. I've spent 3 hours on the web/forums here and on XDA, tried the one click toolkits and just about anything I could find. I'd really like to root and unlock this phone, any ideas would be a great help. Running Windows XP on the PC and still 4.4.2 on the OPO

Try this:
Launch the installer and follow all the steps.
Reboot and try again
still no luck, it shows up green in the checker but when I put it into debugging mode the disappears from the PC. I think I'm going to try and find a different PC to use... It has to be something with my computer
Just so you know there are updates to your phone to 4.4.4.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386956 these are my preferred drivers. Use them, although your machine's OS is pretty old. Try a machine that is newer with at least Windows 7.
The drivers say they should work on XP. Give it a try

[Q] Computer won't recognize S6

Hi,
The title pretty much sums it all, it won't connect at all. Driver or no driver, oem cable or not and stock rom or not. Can't even ADB in...
But ! It does work on my laptop (without drivers), so it's not a faulty device.
Anyone have any idea ?
*Edit: Both my laptop and desktop computers are running Win 8.1

It's the fingerprint security blocking access to the S6's data, you have to unlock screen on the S6 and your Windows will see the drive

Okayyyyyyyy, i figured it out... So i was trying your method, installing SmartSwitch, and it wouldn't install because i didn't have the "Media Feature Pack". Because i'am running Windows 8.1 N on my desktop pc.
So i installed that media bull**** pack and then !!!! Miracle, it worked ! Didn't even need smartswitch. And if you are asking yourselves why is it working on my laptop, well the answer is very simple. My laptop is running a standard version of Windows 8.1... It actually make perfect sense the S6 only connects in PTP or MTP, which are both multimedia "modes". And i still can't adb into the device, must be coming from somethings else !
Anyway thanks to everyone for your help !

good to know, glad you got it working.

Please help me fix this... (Boot problem)

I bought a nexus 5 as a gift for someone and wanted to do some personalizing. I made a custom boot animation, converted it through the "Boot animations" app on google play, but now it hangs on the animation. I tried connecting the device through adb but I can't get my drivers to work, says that nothing is connected. I tested the connection with MY N5 as well and I receive the same result. The reason I tried to connect it though adb was that I read you could change the boot animation through there. Any help would be appreciated... thanks guys :crying:

I'm on windows, and when in fastboot the console on my PC says that it can't detect the phone.
Go to device manager on your pc with the device connected. Do you see anything with a yellow !? If so right click on it and update the driver. Go to let me choose a driver from the pc. Find the adb composite interface driver.

Yep as u can see it's the drivers that isn't making it happen, typically why I use Linux, just dual boot some light Ubuntu distro like lxde using a USB and use the terminal, the nexus will definitely get recognized and u can save it, I'm almost 100% positive this is the easiest way unless u know how to troubleshoot the drivers in windows, or u don't want to in which case I can get Windows installed onto my PC and figure out how to get it working to help you if u really want to stick with it.
