It was moved to legacy devices...sadly Was my first device as well on this forum, got started there. All looking for it, it is here, then just scroll down
Thanks, But I would like to petetion it be moved out of legacy devices. There is active Gingerbread development, and if the Hero isn't legacy than the eris isn't either.
I just wiped my Eris and put gingerbread on it, now I can't find the Eris forums to bookmark again on the xda app?? All you can do is search... why the heck would they for this?

So does anyone know if you can set Swype as default when you are in portrait mode, and the Android keyboard as default in landscape mode? Or any variation therein?

Keyboard manager. You have to have a rooted phone though.

There is a free one someone here on the boards. I found it here.
edit: I see he is now charging for it though It use to be free. I got version 1.1 for free
If a DEV could possibly rip it out and upload that would be great, I want to try to port it to Incredible and Incredible 2 for ****s and giggles.
Is this what you're looking for?
Thanks, downloading now and see what we got to work with

Only if you're on a Droid Charge, and at that point, you should already have the keyboard
Can someone do this for the Fascinate as well. Can you rip the keyboard from the Fascinate so I can put it on my Charge? I really liked the Fascinate stock android keyboard and I'm not a huge fan of Samsungs keypad. Thanks to whoever does this.
No I have a thunderbolt. Was trying to try new keyboards.

You'd need to edit the updater-script. I don't know how it would need setup for the thunderbolt.
I read that Atrix has already gingerbread with the latest version of MOTOBLUR. Has anyone thought about porting?
Its probably a better idea to port it from the Droid x or Droid two. Only because, you know, same screen resolution.
We already have our own gingerbread and new MOTOBLUR for this device and it works like a charm

It does work great - unless your have a green camera lense the you're out of luck!
I would welcome a Atrix or Droid gingerbread port though!
Andy
Yeah ha I feel sorry for you. But who's to say that the port from DROID or ATRIX will support green lens? :/ only time will tell if someone does decide to port

So you want a dev who can find you a new exploit?
Sent from my Xperia Play using xda app-developers app
Yes, nobody can find an exploit of any kind on the latest 2.2x firmware. A lot of people are really hurting for it and the community has a $480 pot for anyone that can find an exploit.

B is for Bounty
U is for Unbelievable
M is for Massive
P is for Payout.
It is sad to see none of our own devs can find the hole but I'm sure someone can. Especially for close to $500!!

They're doing the best they can at the moment and under the current circumstances.
There's also a bounty for S-Off for the Evita XL.
I dream of a world where bounties don't exist in this form ... Where the manufacturer lets you use the device you own the way you want to.

Haaaalp. We needs roots to survive and stuff..
Bump!

It might not even be that our devs cant get it.
Think of it like writing a paper, and reading it right after you finish, and it looks good.
Give it to someone else, and they find plenty of errors.
Maybe we just need someone new to look at it, they might find something we (our community) didn't notice
..bump

Didn't mean it in a bad sense. The one x.devs are doing more then me, I don't have a distorted view on the matter at all.
I had an iPhone for years, sometimes it takes a big collaboration to find a hole, exploit it, and package it for mass consumption. I just really want root, android shouldn't be locked down

Whoops! Didn't mean to sound like I was implying anything, I understand totally man, I haven't had a phone unrooted for so long. I just wanted to say that we, and anyone who wants to help, has a LOT of work, since the current circumstances are not in our favor (AT&T are not playing nice at all).
Sorry about the misunderstanding.
If anyone out there wants to help, head over to these threads to see what we've been up to.
