Autokiller - Droid Incredible Themes and Apps

I was just wondering if anybody uses autokiller? No it's not a taskiller. Here's the description of how it works, http://andrs.w3pla.net/autokiller/details

I use it and I feel like it helps, but who knows? I keep it set to Optimum.

Looks very similar to minfreemanager

I use it but I don't think my phone needs it... I find that a lot if the background progs have to restart more often when I set the profile too high, so I have it set to optimum.

Advanced task killer ends data and voice.

Been using advanced task killer and love it. I have been using the auto killer but it kills data and voice.
Does anyone know which apps or processes to add to the exception list to prevent that?

Protip: Task-killers are absolutely worthless on Android. If you want to manage running apps, get something like Autostarts that changes PERMISSIONS.

That is really true, I had always heard that but until I actually used Autostarts did I realize how it handles the system and running apps, all basically on it's own.

Killing an app

Ok, this is my first day with this marvelous device. I installed Tweet caster, as it was my go to twitter app on my EVO. After I installed Tweet Comb and became fascinated by it, tweet caster on the xoom just doesn't carry too far.
Right now, both are giving me notifications and it's annoying, but I don't want to uninstall caster, either. Other than a reboot, what will fix this issue? Can't you simply exit an app? Do I need an app killer? I've been told app killers are unnecessary with Android, but on my EVO I use the app killer all the time.

I don't use either app, but check the settings. You should be able to turn off notifications. In settings, apps, manage apps though you can stop an app. DO NOT USE A TASK MANAGER.
I agree that task managers that automatically kill apps are no longer required by android. However, in order to close apps easily I use an app called Active Apps, since a lot of apps tend to linger in the background. Put the widget on your desktop and it will give you a running tally of how many apps are running and allow you to opt to quit one or all of them.

I don't know if this will be easier for you, but if you have to kill an app you can also find the app in the drawer and drag it onto the "i" , which will take you to the same spot as finding the app in "settings/applications/manage applications/" then finding the app.

[Q] Watchdog App Vs. Taskillers

I wanted to see what everyone's opinion was on taskillers Vs. Watchdog.
I've been reading that taskillers are obsolete with froyo and GB.
But Devs still add taskiller's in there ROM's.
task killers are of no use in STOCK gingerbread and froyo but do come in pretty handy in roms because they save u alot of space for apps and whatever else u use on your phone. I also am a fan of watchdog so try them out and see which one u like personally for me its watchdog. Hoped i helped
Hi Evilstewie, I notice that the blacklist kill on Watchdog only triggers when the phone is awake, is that the way it's supposed to work?
I set the threshold CPU for the stock browser at 0%, so I was expecting it to be killed even when screen is off, and the browser is idling, but it seems like it's only killed when the screen is on
task killers aren't exactly necessary and just kill battery

The thing is even when sent to the background, I notice apps like the stock browser, quickpic, and opera mobile still continue using CPU. So I need these apps to be killed automatically when they exceed 0% threshold

Over/underclocking

So I'm using miui and it's default setting is at 1.7ghz what's the best way to turn it down? Set cpu only works on one of the cores.
Is there a more effective app to handle this?

multiple wallpaper app

Does anyone else find that multiple go wallpaper shows down their phone? I'm running a evo 4g and it seems to get sore when running the mult wallpaper. Is there any multi wallpaper app that won't do this?
Not sure exactly how much of an effect your talking about but I use MultiPicture Live Wallpaper and dont see much of a slow down. Try it out and let me know what you think

Well, it sort of lags for me too on go launcher. Just get an app that clears ram or running apps. That should do the trick.

Well is there a way to set an app to automatically clear ram and running apps instead of you having to constantly do it?
Try Go task manager and set auto clear every hour.
