I just got the SGP Ultra Silke case as well as the Steinheil Ultra Cystal SP (included with the case) and I thought I'd give a little review as there aren't really any out there.
I'd like to start off by saying this case is in fact intended for the Vibrant [T-Mobile] so the SP isn't entirely compatible with the I9000.
What's in the box:
- 1 Ultra Silke case
- 1 SP
- 3 lens protectors
- 1 microfiber cloth
No squeegee was included for whatever reason.
Anyway, the case came in a coffin like plastic container (shipping was pretty fast, ~9 business days to Ottawa). The case itself is very nice, it's made of what seems to be a cross between some sort of foam and silicone. Dust doesn't cling to it but it remains smooth, soft and flexible. All the cut outs are perfectly aligned and the buttons (covered) are still easy to locate and easily pushable. The case in no way interferes with usability. Your finger is not even affected by the case when scrolling through the letters on the right side of the contact pane. Now there are 2 things I don't entirely like (but don't mind either). For one the case isn't pitch black, it's more of an off black. Second, the case has a hole in the upper right corner for an antenna which I believe is for Korean version of the SGS. I never really understood this though because SGP is a California based company and there are no SGS phones with this antenna port in North America.
The Steinheil Ultra Crystal SP has been rated really well so I figured that I'd try and make it work even though it wasn't cut to accomodate the home button. What I ended up trying to do was cut the hole for the home button and use the scrap piece to protect it. The cutting went quite well (I got some nice clean cuts and they were all the correct size) but I soon found that the SP material was too thick and the adhesive too weak. The SP bit that I cut for the home button wasn't sticky enough to adhere nor was it flexible enough to take the shape of the button. After I got the SP on I noticed similar problems. The adhesive is no where near strong enough. Even after pushing out any bubbles and pushing down all the edges firmly some seem to lift up again. I also noticed that even while the SP was on you could shift it around by pushing it. The SP also had a sort of tacky feel compared to the glass.
Conclusion:
Case [9/10]
- Great material, looks great and very well designed. The only big problem is the hole for the antenna.
Screen Protector [7/10] (Edit: originally gave it a 6 but a 7 is more realistic. The SP is smoother then I thought)
- Very clear and it offers great protection but it isn't adhesive enough. It might even be better to make the SP thinner. I've noticed bubles forming under the edges of the SP for the front as well as for the camera which is annoying me to no end. The bubbles always return!
I bought the case for the case alone, the SP was an added bonus. I love the case so I can't complain. The SP on the otherhand is great for the time being (I've been using the one that came with the phone for the past 2 weeks) but not something I plan to keep. I have a StealthGuard SP in the mail so after I test that one, and if it isn't good enough, I think I'll settle on a Realook as I've heard great reviews.
Anyway, it isn't the little review I intended it to be but hopefully it gives some insight. I'll post pictures later. All questions and comments are welcome.

Seems like good stuff when you put it that way.
A tip:
Use a hairdryer to heat the plastic and press while warm. Makes the plastic softer and allows it to be reshaped. I used a lighter to heat the generic screen protector I put on my home-button.

Thanks for the tip. How does the adhesive work after heating it though? Heating an adhesive generally weakens it and this SP already has awful adhesive.
The SP feels and looks great but the weak adhesive drives me nuts. Bubbles still appear at the edges of the SP and the cam lens. If it weren't for the case covering up the bubbles on the main SP I'd probably rip it off. Hopefully my other SP's come soon.

I have no issue at all with the adhesive on the protector I put on my home-button (not with the screen-protector either, as it got a bit heated too). Looks a bit crap though as I cut the plastic myself without much care.
I use this case and a sgp ultra crystal clear and its like you have a different product. The edges on mine are perfect and there is absolutely no way i can move the protector around. Mine is also very smooth almost like the glass itself. Very strange. Did you mount yours backwards?

Serious question...?
Mine is smooth as well although not as smooth as glass. The edges also bubble up no matter what I do. I've been pressing the edges down for the past few days and they still lift up. Like I said before, the adhesive is crap. I am liking the Steinheil more and more every day but the bubbling edges drive me nuts.
The Realook SP that I've been looking into doesn't need an adhesive to stick (it statically clings to the screen) and so can be washed and used over and over.

Hmmm I'm now convinced you have a different product. I bought my protector first so I didn't use the one that came with the case. Maybe there is a difference there or sgp changed them since I purchased. The ones I have definitely don't bubble.
These protectors do feel a little grippy when first installed but become really smooth over time.
Is it easy to remove the case to swap the battery? Thanks.

I am looking for a UK web site to order, my friend living in uk will order it for me then bring it after a couple days to my country, we have no time to wait because all web sites that i can find is in US. amazon.co.uk dont sell it. Do you have any uk web site?
The case is very easy to remove. It simply stretches over the phone.
No, I do not know a UK site for this case.
I must add a downside to this case though. The "silke" feel is actually due to some sort of coating and not the material the case is made of. I have found that this coating can rub off and is visible and "feelable" in certain areas.

I have the Realook on my phone. Outside of small air bubbles on my screen, it's a great protector. Also a good plus that we can reuse it
I just got my Realook Screen protectors yesterday. They look great. I'm not going to put one on though until this sgp one gets scratched a lot. I'd rather not waste a 10 dollar screen protector, lol.

Got a SGP ultra Oleo today... the only issue is that it says "For iPhone 4" on the front... is this a mistype or did I really get the wrong thing? Double checked my shipping order and I for sure got a galaxy protector lol

I have this case for 9 months now and I have to say that I have no rub off. The skin looks like day one. Also the screen protector is very very good, I was able to put it on without any bubbles forming. And for the price of 19.99 is an absolute steal. If you look for a well made case this is. And the fact that is made in Korea shows in the way the case is finished with no points of connection showing like other cases out there.
i'm using this sgp case and SteinheilUC sp for 3 months and i give it 10/10. BEST BUY
Better then Invisible Shield?
In my experience yes.
Same here.
Steinheil is the best screen protector I have ever come across. Cost a small fortune if you try to buy it alone though. You are better off buying a SGP case that comes with a steinheil screen protector.
And as mentioned, the only problem is that the edges doesn't quite stay on the screen. You get an edge of bubbles that's about 0.1 mm thick. But you sort of get used to it after a while, and completely forget about it later on.
thx for the great review! was already considering to buy one of these screen protectors
using sgp here. feels excellent!!

Here is a picture of the phone without the screen installed.
This is the box. You open the bottom flap up like a flip cover and the liquid spray stick comes popping out. Pretty nifty. Instructions are on the underside of the top flap.
Included: the microcloth with the Skinomi logo printed on it. It's just big enough for me to leave in my glasses case too. Then there's the actual screen protector, the spray stick, and the squeegee.
My screen had a little dent a little under the right middle portion, but I applied it anyway. Strangely enough, the dent was gone soon after installation. Perhaps this is the "self-healing" technology that the company claims their products to have?? In any case, I am happy I did not have to send back (yet).
Here's how it looks immediately after applying.
The actually application wasn't too difficult. I just sprayed a liberal amount onto my fingers and both sides of the screen, then lined it up, laid it down, and squeegeed away. Other users on this forum have mentioned getting the orange peel effect, or disliking that rubber texture from the skin, but I haven't had any of these problems. There are microbubbles and such under the skin under the skin, but I'm hoping that all of that will go away in about a day or so. The texture itself is quite smooth. I barely felt any resistance on the screen as I have before with Zagg InvisibleShields, and my screen is no longer a fingerprint magnet!!! I'll try to post more pictures of the screen, colors, etc tomorrow for a comparison.
So for those of you who are looking for a good screen protector, I highly recommend installing the Skinomi. Colors are still vibrant and responsiveness is not hindered. You also get lifetime warranty, and the skin itself was dirt cheap. If you haven't seen on the other threads yet, you can buy it for a buck on Amazon. After shipping and handling, it comes out to about three bucks. Give it a shot!

does it cover the entire glass section of the screen ? mine really only covers to the actual edge of the display, and if its out by a 1mm everything is screwed up

I just installed mine and it covers the entire glass. There's about 0.5-1mm of leeway in the height of the protector (as in it's about 0.5-1mm shorter than the actual height of the glass) and it covers completely from edge to edge width-wise with no leeway at all. So yeah you have to be real careful to get it completely straight or the sides will hang off just a tad.
Oh and btw, the microfiber cloth they gave me was mediocre at best and the edges gave off some lint that landed on the sticky side of my protector. Luckily enough the lint didn't stick since I had wet it pretty liberally beforehand.

I freaked out a bit when I installed the Skinomi on my Flyer tablet, as I could see small bubbles (looked like glitter all over the place) under the protector after a full day of drying. I think the instructions say to wait 24 hours for all the bubbles and moisture to disappear. But it took a good 2-3 days, and they were all gone. So just be patient.
At least on my Flyer, Skinomi has a VERY slight "orange peel" texture. But its almost very difficult to see. You have to look very closely, and under the right lighting, and you will see it. But its pretty hard to notice, and completely invisible when the screen is on. IMO, this makes Skinomi makes a superior protector to similar quality/type products, such as Zagg.

Yeah, Skinomi has me forgetting about Zagg and not ever going back. It fits perfectly and feels great. Almost like there's nothing there at all.
I agree with all the statements above. There is a very very very small discrepancy with the screen and protector size, and you'll need practically surgical accuracy to get it right. I'm satisfied with mine. The glitter-liked micro bubbles have also cleared up and now I barely notice the protector on it. Perfect.
I just bought this because of this thread.
LOL, $.95 for the item and $2.95 for the shipping! Oh well, still worth it IMO.
Has anyone got larger bubbles with there? Just applied mine and im seeing super large bubbles, but I can squeegee them out at all.
I just finished applying mine. This stuff is excellent! No orange peel at all. Waiting for it to "cure".
I'm not sure I like it. All the bubbles and everything went away and the screen looks *almost* as good as it did without the protector, but it adds a resistance and rubbery feel and I just prefer the feel of the glass. Isn't gorilla glass supposed to be scratch resistant anyway? I only bought this cuz it was super cheap and wanted to try it out and see how it feels. I'd give it like a 3/5, with 5 being you couldn't tell the difference between having a protector and not having one.
Is anyone that is using this screen protector also using a case? Some people were saying that TPU cases will make it bubble up. Would be interested in hearing what experiences people have with different types of cases.

Yes, the gorilla glass is supposed to be scratch resistant. I personally love the protector because its not nearly as rubbery as some of the other ones I have used, such as the Zagg InvisibleShields.

i have the same question, i use a tpu right now but i was considering getting this full body shield, or this to use with the tpu. the body shield makes the back look sort of glossy and tacky like a grandmas couch wrapped in plastic so im not sure i want to do a back shield. if this doesnt fit i think ill buy the sgp or try the zagg hd.
heres the full body shield, only $4!

Scratch resistant, yes. But nowhere near impossible to scratch. I've seen quite a few reports of GG screens on other phones, that were scratched with normal usage. On the other hand, some users claim to have dropped and abused GG with no scratches. So the choice is yours. But if go bareback and you scratch the screen, you have no recourse, and you can't undo it. So for me, its worth it to have the extra insurance against scratches as a tradeoff for the minimal change in feel that a high quality screen protector gives.
This screen definitely scratches.
I had a few hairline scratches on my first unit that I had to return, in the first few days.
Never was anywhere but in my front pocket with nothing else.

Glad i seen this review, i did however go out and buy a protector for my one x as well a bit earlier today. My Diztronic TPU case should be here tomorrow, then my skinomi screen protector here the day after. So i could let everyone know how they pair up together unless someone beats me to it.
Not sure about OP, but me and few other users have had problems with the Skinomi.
It dries up, but the solution seems to be messed up or something. It left behind this mist effect of little dots that won't go away.
Really annoying and on white colors it creates a bad rainbow effect.
Just pointing it out, I installed it twice and both turned out the same. Going to ask for a refund, or 3rd times the charm?

Yeah at first I had that mist you described. I assumed they were microbubbles. Fortunately for me they all went away within 24 hours time. I only get the rainbow effect whenever I leave enough fingerprint marks on the screen but other than that, its been perfect for me.
Am I the only one who can't seem to get one of these installed without the edges having issues? Both sides of the screen protector seem to be lifted off the device, this is the second one I have tried. Putting a TPU case on causes it to lift the protector off.
Seidio Surface Case (without kickstand)
There is no denying that I’m a sucker for a good cell phone case and, without surprise, I nearly always end up going back to Seidio Surface case. My wife ends up feeling that my case is better than hers and ends up stealing my case.
This time, we got HER one first (hence the Fuchsia color).
Per their website:
The SURFACE™ case is the right case for those who are looking for sleek protection. This case protects your Samsung GALAXY S4 from scratches and drops while adding minimal bulk. Durable plastic is accompanied by our soft-touch coating which enhances the look of your Samsung GALAXY S4 without attracting lint.
- Sleek case that provides scratch protection without adding much bulk
- Case raises the camera away from a flat surface in order to protect your lens
- Precision cut-outs for access to the ports, controls, speakers, and camera
- Unique slide-in design makes putting on and removing your case easy
- Felt lining on inside protects your Samsung GALAXY S4

Fit and feel of this one is likely the BEST I’ve seen. No gaps or overlaps. Edges line up perfectly! All cut outs for the buttons are spot on and VERY easy to find. All cut out for ports (headphones, IR blaster, charger, camera, etc) are perfectly centered except for one that is quite literally a hair width off center. The case is made from a hard plastic and features a soft-touch textured feel that makes it grip in your hand but not in your pocket.
The case is NOT compatible with Spigen’s Glas.tr (it’s a VERY tight fit and won’t close all the way) but Seidio made sure that they offered a glass protector that works just fine with the case.
They also offer cases with a built-in kickstand and a holster to wear it on your belt. There are multiple color options available for the case as well.

Seidio Vitreo (Tempered glass screen protector)
Recently, there have been more and more of a market for a tempered glass screen protector and, to be honest, when I first heard of a glass screen protector I laughed. I firmly believed that those willing to buy such a product would also be willing to buy a few bottles of blinker fluid. Upon getting my hands on a few different ones, I can gladly admit that I am wrong. Tempered glass screen protectors are WORTH THE MONEY!!!
Glass screen protectors aren’t without flaw. They can still scratch, break, chip, etc. They aren’t perfect. They DO allow you to keep your screen on your actual device in perfect condition (I’d rather scratch a screen protector then the screen of my device) and, more importantly, allow that crisp clean feel of a glass screen to be used. There is no debating that glass feels better when compared with high end or low end plastic based screen protectors that we are all used to. These protectors simply feel amazing (and of course they cost a bit more too).
Seidio’s Vitreo tempered glass screen protector is no different.
Per their website:
Seidio's VITREO™ is a tempered glass material that utilizes advanced technology to shield and protect your Samsung GALAXY S4's screen. Made from a high grade glass with a 9H hardness rating, VITREO™ is shatterproof, allowing it to absorb more impact than your regular PET screen protector and prevent damage from occurring to your screen. The VITREO™ surface feels just like the device's screen without interfering with optical clarity while giving you an extraordinary level of protection. The design and lightweight material will provide peace of mind no matter what comes in contact with your device.
- High grade tempered glass with a 9H hardness rating prevents damage in the event of scratches and abrasions
- Tapered (rounded) edges provide a premium and more aesthetically enhanced profile for your device
- Engineered to reinforce the strength of the critical points of impact which results in prolonged durability
- Oleophobic coating resists marks and smudges with advanced technology that reduces the appearance of fingerprints
- Precision cut to not interfere with proximity sensors and front camera
- Slim profile allows fitment with Seidio cases while providing maximum coverage of the screen
- Allows touch sensitivity and enhances optical clarity
- Easy installation without bubbling and lifting
- Only 0.55mm (0.02in) thin

The screen protector is held in place with a Silicon based adhesive. As can be seen in the photos below, the protector fits their Surface case nearly perfectly (and more importantly it allows you to put the phone screen down without having the glass make contact with the table). Installation was easier than the old plastic screen protectors and went on easily and quickly. I did have a minor issue with bubbling/streaking when installed but pressing firmly on the screen protector allowed those areas to stick and it has not become an issue since. All sensors and the home key are fully accessible when this product is used and the rounded edges feel smooth and nearly non-existent (except for the corners underneath the home key which just feel a tad bit out of place - non issue when their case is on the phone).
It’s worth noting that the protector doesn’t surround the home key. With the Surface case installed, this does not bother me. Without the case installed, I found that my fingers would rub along the edge. I found that this design made accessing the home button easier than with other brand glass screen protectors without the use of “extension” keys such as the jelly home keys (provided) or with the aluminum keys sold by other manufactures. Of course, adding them extension pieces sure didn’t hurt the feel either!
Pictures are worth a thousand words... so look at ‘em!

i have never really been a fan of the two part cases like that. i had something similar for an ipod i had and hated it. as far as the screen protector i am also not a fan how the bottom has an open space around the home button. i much prefer to have it all one piece like my spigen nano. the price for the screen protector is also on the high side. the most important thing is if you like it though. everyone will have their own opinion :good:

My initial reaction to the glass not covering the home button was the same. After "trading" phones with my wife for the week while I tested everything, I REALLY prefer it this way. Your thumb INSTANTLY finds the home key and the use of a jelly button or aluminum home button isn't needed (but if you want to use one it doesn't hurt the feel either).
Yeah... it leaves some uncovered, but it feels damn good in the meantime!
In regards to the rest... yeap, comes down to preference! :cyclops:

I don't have an otterbox or UAG to test it with. I can confirm that the Vitreo it is slightly shorter and thinner than the Glas.tr (which I believe I've seen someone said that it works with the UAG so that one shouldn't be a problem).
And it covers the screen OK? How ya like it?

Covers screen fine. Only real "dead spot" is directly under the home key which I find doesn't bother me when I grab the wife's phone (where it's currently at).
I had Spigen Glas.tr on mine and had two different defective units where the glass stopped "sticking" randomly and would spread.
.... so I guess you could say that I like it a lot more than the Glas.Tr :cyclops:

Same as plain screen and every other screen protector I've ever used. No delay as a result of the screen protector.

Sounds good I might order one from amazon then. Any drop experience with it? Hold up OK.

Only something you can decide! I'll tell you that using a glass screen protector is great and you'll wonder how you ever used a film screen protector though.
EDIT: 8/1/13; Escalated via Paypal today and got resolution today for a partial refund of $20. I Clarivue offered a screen protector as a replacement and I declined. However, I requested a partial refund of $20.
EDIT: 7/29/13; I have been in email conversation with Clarivue and they are not on the up an up. Point being when I ordered, there were no pictures, no claims that the screen protector was made smaller to accommodate the curved glass of the N4. If there were such pictures, why did I ask if there were cut outs for the prox sensor and front cam? They will not even give me a new one to try out again without shelling out another $10 bux. They have lost me as a customer at this point and I suggest that people take heed in this my review and take it for what it's worth. Unfortunately, not worth 27 bux. It's a shame. Like I said, the glass is smooth, but the size just kills it for me. Clarivue claiming that all of this was disclosed when the glass was posted for sale on the site. I know what I did or did not see on that site.
Clarivue screen protector for the nexus 4. Not horrible but the protector is too short and not wide enough. It just covers the width of the screen. So I had to lift to readjust and because of that the side adhesive does not seat on the screen anymore as you can see in the pic. I am back using the iloome screen protector which I took off to try this and it stuck right like it was brand new.
Bottom line, if you have a TPU case or Seidio case of the same sort that has a large lip covering the screen, this may be the perfect protector for you. Using the phone with it was actually pretty responsive, I say a tiny bit better than the iloome, but that's just using for a few minutes.
I was so hoping this was THE protector to get. It's not for me. I mean it just barely fits and does not cover the entire screen like the iloome does. I can foresee dust and debris digging in there pretty easily, especially for me if I kept using it with the sides not seating anymore.
I will place an email to Clarivue. I have spoken to Alex before purchasing this and was told there would be a "restocking fee" but no refunds on these. I'll report back on what he/they say.

I seem to be having the same issue with the protector, it just won't adhere to the sides of the screen. I have removed and reapplied it but nothing has improved. I will talk to them and see what happens since I have bought two of these.
I just want to be clear, The adhesive was fine when you first applied it but once you remove and reapply the adhesive becomes weak? or was it weak since the first application?

How about the fingerprints and the sensitivity of the screen?

It handle's fingerprints pretty good actually. The sensitivity is good as well. If I can use PIE UI, then it passes muster in my book , but the size of it or lack of it IMO holds it back from being a recommend from me.
I'm more upset that you're cheating on your Nexus 4 with an HTC One...
LOL! JUST KIDDING!
Yeah, I mentioned that it looked WAY too short all around from the press shot which is why I wasn't even considering buying one but thank you for the review.
I think I'll try iloome + Ringke Slim. Do you think the iloome will fit well with the Ringke Slim? Thank you.

That HTC One is my wife's work phone . I have the diztronic ultra slim and try that on Monday when I get back in the office with the iloome.
Thanks for the review. Two important things for me is how the screen reacts to fingerprint marks and touch sensitivity. Well, although the size is not really optimal, this protector is one of my favorite choices now.

OP Updated with the latest Clarivue news. Bottom line, they will not give me a replacement without shelling out 10 bux. And this screen protector being utterly useless, I just wasted $27.
Remember the sides not adhering properly? I though it was me. Apparently I don't think so anymore. Check out their pic on their own site with the adhesive not on the screen on the bottom right.
Yeah, this one looked worse that the Marulabs to me which is why I immediately ruled it out as an option. Just poorly designed and bad adhesive.
They really should refund your money. If I were you, I'd do a charge back with your CC or dispute with PayPal.

I see the slight bit of lift around the edge it doesn't bother me tho. With the screen on you can't see it. And it is convex at the edge, and with the screen off it makes it look a little wider than it really is. Also it does stick to the edge but its not quite as tight.
It doesn't have an adhesive backing it is a protective silicone layer. Its not sticky at all
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app. The glass goes from edge to edge on the displayed pucture
Overall your not gonna get any better with a flat piece of glass since it runs perfectly between the display under the glass of the screen

I am glad you like it. I for one do not. Ok if it's not adhesive, it doesn't fit flush on the screen then. Even the picture from Clarivue shows that effect, which fails for me. If you like it, that's all that matters right?
Looks like Clariveu read your review and did some more editing in their product description that I don't remember seeing before.
Quote: We recommend installing the glass protector closer to the top of the phone to avoid bubbles near the bottom.
Now that the phones are arriving, what screen protectors are you using and how would you rate them ?
I just put on an "Armorsuit" protector. It was a bit of a pain to put on. It took about 5-7 Minutes and two tries. Which I guess isn't horrible. The key was to be slow and gentle when using the squeegee to remove the liquid. I put a Supcase unicorn beetle case on it after 15 minutes without the edges popping up. The feel of the screen is rubbery. The screen is 99% covered and seems like it'll offer minimum to moderate scratch protection. It doesn't seem like it'd offer any drop protection. The instructions say it takes around 12 hours to fully "cure" (cure is my word, not theirs). I'd rate this about a 3.5 out of 5 for ease of installation and protection.
Edit:Edges seem to peel after 20-30 minutes and the clarity is a bit opaque.
I just ordered spigen flex hd. should be in friday

The wet apps seem to work best because of the curve. I have used the regular xtremeguard with great success and paid less than $15 between 8 sets for both the S7edge and Note 7.
Wet application IQ shield full body on mine.

Unfortunately my Xtremeguard was backordered. Decided to pickup some full body shields from Skinomi. We'll see if they are worth $30, compared to roughly $1 for the Xtremeguards.
Iq shield isn't the greatest either. It takes forever to put on and the edges don't like to stick at all. After a few hours of having it in my case the day after install the edges started pulling up.

The edges were peeling before I put the case on it, but it's the belt holster that really peels the edges up. My spigen neo hybrid crystal doesn't seem to bother it.

I tried two different ones, wet type... too bad..
Anyways if you plan to put a case on it.. forget it.
the case makes the edges pop out.. was soo annoying so I just pulled it off.
I hope someone makes a tempered glass curved protector. that would be amazing.
Check out the PureGear Tempered Glass with Self Aligning Tray for Note 7...
skinomi wet install.
Its the only protector i will use. Since the phone can get wait its no problem installing it. The corners hold good if you install it right. (rubbing and drying the edges.)
Bodygaurd's screen protector was an easy wet apply and it fixed the tiny air pockets over night. The edges are about 3/4 the of the way covered so it doesn't get peeled back by a case.My only issue with this screen protector is that it feels like very soft when using your fingers but it is great for the s-pen.

I had one put on at best buy by the geek squad. I believe it was a wet application process. It covers most of the top bezel and the edges. I have it in an s view Samsung case without issues. It cost $30 and lifetime warranty.

I bought the Skinomi Matte Finish protector through Amazon. I was extremely wary, based on how well the "liquid applique" protectors of the past worked. As in, not at all. But the installation went really well. I went light on spraying the soapy water on the adhesive side, but ensured I got the whole thing coated. It's 99.9% sealed and bubble free. The .1% is the edge right above the volume keys where it appears I wasn't diligent enough in pressing that section down until the adhesive firmed up. Regardless, I would recommend this one to any of you folks. I also purchased their carbon fiber skin for the back, so I'll try to let you know how that one goes as well.

I've already received the OEM Leather Case from this seller,so I'm confident his mdse is the genuine article.....................
The samsung protector is good but the edges will still lift when paired with some cases. It didn't sit well with the case mate tough mag that I'm using. In the end I used a bit of sticky tape in the very edges of the protector. Holds it in place and the case hides it so no one can see it's there. Will probably leave some sticky reside but the phone is water resistant so what the hey I'll just wash it.

Pics please, and did the corners stick with that case? I put on a matte IQ Shield and it did well until I added a Spigen Ultra Hybrid. The sides are doing fine but the case is pushing up the corners.
I know matte is not for everyone, but I like it. I thought a clear case would be good for show until I saw all the crud collecting behind it.
This is the screen protector I bought:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071GXH1QS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It is by far the worst quality of any glass screen protector I have ever used or seen. The adhesive does not even come close to the outside of the glass, the glass is 1-2mm too small for the phone screen, outdoors you can see spots aligned in rows and columns all over it, and you can see weird vertical streak mark things in the right light.
I realize the spots are common to all glass screen protectors, but never have I seen them so pronounced and visible.
Here are pictures of how bad it looks:

On another note, I hate what Foxcon did to the edges of the phone. It looks like to make the titanium rounded they just hand sanded it into a round shape with course grit sandpaper. It feels terrible and looks all scratched up and nasty. Very low quality for this phone.
How much does the edge of the glass curve on the phone? If that protector is more or less flat out to the edge, is the phone starting the glass curve that far in where the adhesive is showing? That pretty much makes any glass screen protector not built with a curve in it useless if that's the case.

I wondered the same thing.
I hate the heck out of this curved screen craze everyone followed Apple/Samsung on. My favorite screen was on my LG G3 and 6P. Nice and flat with straight edges, screen protectors just blend in nearly invisibly and the feel was good. I feel with these curved screen that even naked, they just don't track as well and overall force you to use it naked or have a screen protector that is obviously on it and can't fit perfectly since they only make curved ones for iPhone or Samsung edges.
And if you do run it naked, the curved edge will scratch guaranteed over time even if the main front doesn't.
I bought the sparin brand glass screen protector from Amazon and it looks nearly identical to this.
Looks like film protectors will be the only option here..
If you apply it absolutely perfectly, it can take a bit of time for it to "settle" as well. Keep some pressure on the edges to see if it can adhere a bit better.
I was afraid of this though as it looks similar to the issue Nokia Lumias had. Blast those stupid curved edges. If I could just get a Nexus 6P 2 with the internals of todays phones I would so totally jump on that.
Luckily going by the ones I Got on Amazon the only review says they fit perfectly, so I guess I'll see in a week.
Same issue with the Halnziye Tempered Glass Screen Protector I bought off Amazon. Anyone have any they had success with?

Maybe it is ever so slightly curved, but to my eyes it looks flat up until a 1-2mm curve at the very edges. It is really hard to get a good picture of it with my other phone because it cant focus so well on something so small and close, so this is the best I could do:

Hmm it does look curved. Any chance you could put a soft yet firmly heavy book on the screen for a bit to see if you can get those edges to adhere a bit better?
Anyone tried the liquid screen protectors? They might also work on the back of the device. Although I wonder if the coating would interfere with a dbrand whenever those ship?

I'm going to be trying out the Ghostguard invisible liquid protector from Liquipel. That is if I decide to keep the Essential over my U11. Either way, I'll let you know how it goes when I receive the Essential next week. And you get a year of "if you break it, we fix it" from Liquipel. It should do very well against scratches (from videos I've watched, even compared to tempered glass), but definitely not cracks or shattered screens if dropped.
However, even with no protection on several of my past devices, I never had a scratch or worse. I take very good care of my phones. And if I decide to keep the Essential, I'm hoping fitbag releases their sleeves for it.

Thats cool. I have read good things about the liquid protectors. What I cannot for the life of me figure out is the difference between the glass protector ones and the liquid protection (like flash flood). They all have the same selling points and water beads up off of all of them. The liquid option seems like a good way to preserve the minimalism of the PH1. I saw a review where someone had the matte black dbrand on the back and it looks outstanding.
I don't think any glass protectors will work since this screen isn't flat. What Happened to the good old days where the screen was just a flat piece of glass that edged up against a bevel without all this curved 2.5D madness

I don't know, but my Nexus 6P has a flat screen. I don't like the curved screen craze.
My PH-1 will probably be going back.
All the GSPs I've seen have the same issues on the Essential. I just posted my Amazon review https://www.amazon.com/gp/review/RF8OVSR1N1VK?ref_=glimp_1rv_cl
I had minimal issues and expected to have the issue that the OP had. But if you don't want to go to my review to look at the pics here they are attached. You can use the Olive Oil trick to achieve the same results, at your own risk of course.
But I'm diggin it right now and very happy with it after the olive oil, before I was just going to deal with it.
