Difference in noobnl's one click flashes? - Epic 4G Android Development

Ok so I am completely new to android phones. Been reading a little bit of each of noobnl's one click flash root threads and I can't understand what the actual differences are. The threads are only 6 days apart from when they where created and both are still being updated. So whats the difference and why pick one over the other?
One click root for the Epic 4G! v2.2.4 Now has Busybox & remount scripts!
One click Flasher for the Epic 4G! Now with Andromeda Kernel v1.3.0 ***8.2MFLOP***

do the one with the kernal. Makes u have more ram free and makes phone faster.

is the 8.2mflop part referring to the linpack benchmark?

I'd like to know this too.
Would we have to unroot first, then use the other?
I didn't realize one actually made your phone faster

Just run the new one no need to unroot the previous it just overwrites the old one, and yes the new one is faster. The diffrence is speed. The older is bascally obsolete. *Locked*

Yeah, if it is based off of midNIGHT's rom/ext4, you need to flash through CWM3 (orange)
EDIT: I may be wrong. I guess it would depend on which version of midNIGHT it is based on. The most current version is "edify friendly", so if it is based off of that - then yes, you should use CWM3. If it is not, then the CWM version ending in .02 should be used if you already have ext4.

I'm running the newest version of midNIGHT now and the DEV is a great guy. I was going to flash this and test it out b/c it is based off of that and has the "extras" included that I currently have loaded (GB theme, GB keyboard, no data throttle) through seperate flashes!
Also, being that it is an "edify" rom, there is a link to a repository of edify-converted items on the midNIGHT DEV's personal blog (link is in the midNIGHT 2.7 thread). He has taken conversion requests and posted them there.

As far as your statement for quadrant, are you basing that off personal experience or is there a huge thread in this forum called "quadrant sucks on the epic"?

At least some major improvements for CM7.
Doesn't have to pretend to be GB in build.prop.
Niceee. When you say working camera is that to say the camera in the dev section isnt 'working'? I've tried it out and it works great!
Probably add the add the ability to have different governors on custom kernals now

Is there an updated "how to install CM7"? I've searched around and keep finding bits and pieces of what I want, but not the whole picture.
I'm on a stock rooted g2x but want to make sure I do this right. I've flashed CWM recovery with NVFlash. Do I need to update with LG tool to get the latest baseband, or do I just flash CM7?

I thought this was caused by Tegra 2 not being compatible with certain governors... That's what I heard anyway. Hope it's not true. I miss the freq governors.

If you want the latest baseband, you have to go through LG's flasher or the OTA update. However, this is not required for CM7. CM7 is happy with either baseband version.

I haven't noticed any improvement from old baseband to new, so just flash CM7 and don't worry about the LG updater tool.
1. Nandroid backup using cwm
2. wipe using cwm
3. flash cm7 (just get the latest nightly: http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=p999)
When you flash subsequent nightlies/RCs of CM7, you can flash right over the previous CM7 flash, just be sure to wipe cache/dalvik cache and do a repair permissions before booting into new CM7 flash. At least that's my little ritual, not sure how much it helps.

Untouched UCLB3 Rooted

Ok I'm looking for somthing simple... And there are tons of UCLB3 leaked roms that have been modded and I just get so much lag on the lock screen - I have used the "Heimdall return to stock UCLB3" which does not have the lag. Tried another ROM via CWM that was "stock" with the daily driver kernel (lagged like hell). CWM to stock kernel with the ROM that was marked stock - still lagged.
I could not for the life of me get the Heimdall one click (above) to root with OneClick or the batch available. So I'm looking for somthing based off UCLB -leaked or the release with not much more then a root on it, And the correct Kernel whihc at this point I have no clue what it should be.
Currently I'm running:
FWV
2.3.6
BBV
I997UCLB3
Kernel
2.6.35.7-I997RUXKG3-CL366622
BN
GIBGERBREAD.UCLB3
I know this may seem easy, but to me this is getting fustrating. I have used so many roms... and the best one with the least lag was the return to stock - which I couldn't root (I have rooted many phones)
Any help would be great, or links/suggestions.
What ROMs did you try? Lag...wow...not on any the roms I've loaded....think your install has something to do with your lag....
Do you see the links in my signature if you're on your pc click those links....do some reading....
..I'm humble enough to say it could be my installs... but it's kinda hard to mess up a CWM flash - I'm clearing everything prior. The majority of the lag is on the unlock screen.
As for Roms.. Serendipity...Revolution... and a few others I'm not sure it it's a rom issue or a kernel issue.
I was just a little thrown off by the one click to factory (in your sig) gave me no lag, but I at least get lag on the unlock on all others.

Well then..."Joe Know's -Links-"
The DEV Rom is working nice, like I before all I can see is the missed bloat and for some of us who may use our devices for work and need to seem semi professional by responding from the correct email, email.apk. Other than that a toggle for the odd-ball animations would be nice... it may grow on me, the jury is out right now.
I'll run this for a while and possible fash over a differnt kernel or two and see what I come up with.
Thank you both for your time.

I suspect that the lockscreen lag you're seeing is related to underclocking when the phone is locked... Potentially with one of the Infusion kernels.
Consider running Entropy's kernel.
Or the stock kernel... But that locks you out of stuff like CWM and Voodoo Sound / Lagfix.
Need to root the "official" Samsung UCLB3 leak or the official AT&T Gingerbread release for the Infuse 4g, and still want to do it yourself on your phone? See this how-to that I just worked up.:

Using CWM to write kernels.

So I found this in the updater script for this CM9 port for the EVO 4G LTE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1683384
"package_extract_file("boot.img", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p21");"
looks like we can stop using fastboot to write kernels? Or is this something we already knew?
PS: fiddling with this CM9 port, I can get it to boot up to the CM9 bootanimation on my HOX, then it gets stuck. Just needed to change the partition it was writing /system to and change the asserts in the updater script...
I would love a CM9 port I cant stand these Sense ROMS.
