If you have a Sprint Galaxy Tab and would like to get the feel of making phone calls try this app from the Market "Line2" you will be able to grab a phone # from any area code in the us.
I came across another post talking about this great app, Posted By dfullerman.

There's already a post on this.
It looks like you work for them and are just trying to advertise here.

1. if u take a look, I mention that there is another post talking about this, I notice that one after I did mine and for the record I call on those that have a Sprint Tab like I do.
2. if I work for then, at least I have something to do, over 200 people came across this but only u have to come up with something negative.
3. if u dont like the UI maybe others do.
4. XDA is a community for people to help each other.

I Have t-mobile's Galaxy Tab with Line2 & Google Voice & It. works great!

How would one go about cancelling the service after a month?......plus, do we need to register a credit card or something? My tab works off WiFi so I don't see how i'd be charged

There is no contract, if you want you can just go with the month program they would send you an email for your next payment, I did the $49.00 for the 6 months.
I'm using a pre-paid credit card

Thats it, nothing better than to see this bad boy making phone calls for a whole free month.

has anyone got the sprint galaxy tab to work with 3G?

I was just try to see if anyone was able to get line2 to work with the 3g on a sprint galaxy tab, because i am not able to get it to work.

i did initially, but after few days after i setup line2 and tested. It tells me that it cannot connect or waiting to connect to the servers... So uninstalled.

[Q] Skype Mobile from DINC 2 Rom system dump.Developer needed to modify S.P check

Ive got the skype mobile apk installed and running on the evo 4g cm7 rom.... the only problem is that it check to see what network you are on, and if its not verizon its a no go.... even on roam only it say call verizon and have plan upgraded. so theres no out smarting it.... can a developer go into the files and crack it to not search for service provider.... or accept sprint as a provider? we are so much closer to true mobile skype. thanks

What makes you think it's a network check vs. a hardware/firmware/phone check? Just curious, but either way should *in theory* be easy to emulate or bypass.

I just figured because when i was on sprints 3g it said you must have verizon... but when i set my phone to roam only on verizons network, it then said call verizon and have mobile data plan updated, so i used deductive reasoning to assume that its probably testing network some how... idk tho. can you try to edit the files?

I downloaded the attached apk and ran some tests... OP is right, the app does go over the mobile network to verify that you are connected to Verizon. I was connected to WiFi and it used my mobile network all of a sudden to try to login, so i disabled the mobile data and it wont login...

I wonder why they went that route... Now the verizon cant use skype over wifi only..... But yea I kinda knew it was testing the network..... Any luck modifying the files any one?

See if this one works for you.I used to include this app in my old ROMs,but there is no video calls,just a basic data calls...

I would like to add that I tried using airplane mode with wifi on and it doesn't let you sign on. It says not available over wifi. The verizon check has to be bypassed.
I guess baller already kinda said that...

I thought this had video chat. isn't regular skype already in the market? i don't use it, I just thought it was already there so i thought this was video chat skype

The app is fairly obfuscated, but I might poke at it a bit...

tryed the apk on xoom and it worked fine. Didn't see any video support.

hmmmmm looks like we were tricked... my understanding was that this version is "Skype Mobile Live" is different than the "Skype" in the market. they even have different icons.... and it was supposedly supposed to have video. maybe its only mobile to mobile video. idk but if its just the same app, its not worth the trouble. But i recall at a hands on they said it had video support.

Well I got past the "requires verizon wireless" check.
I'll mess around with it more at home tonight.

there is no need to mess around with this app. the op has tricked us. this app is the same app that is already in the market available for all phones. skype did show an updated video chat app but this isn't it.

Lost my Captivate...What Now....

So today I left my captivate in a Cab....and definitely will not be able to get it back I flashed a custom rom and forgot to reload Lookout Security or some service to track my phone, so no luck there...
Question: What should I do now. I definetly need to buy another smartphone, but the question is...which one? Should I wait for something like the Galaxy S2? (Could still be a ways from launch). I live in Canada and I am on Rogers. Should I just pick up another Captivate? Your thoughts/Suggestions.
PS: Does the bell Samsung Vibrant if unlocked work with 3g for rogers?

Sure I already have Lookout installed, but that's a cool little app.
'Though, I must admit, the idea of being able to push and execute apps remotely is a bit of a security concern.

Now, remember Plan B and use it the next time you lose the phone. It works. I didn't lose my phone, but I tried it out. GPS reception in my home is poor, so it showed the phone in the wrong room, but certainly in the correct house, close enough. It's not something you want to leave on your phone, because it sends a constant stream of text messages to your email with the location of the phone, but if you lose the phone, it will show you where it is, assuming any GPS signal can be received and it has network access.

works great! i use it on occasion on my nexus s, but use it much more on my original droid. i use it a bunch on my droid because its without service, and only wifi capable.

Works great for me on T-mobile USA (Nexus S)... I usually use it during the end of my billing cycle when my minutes are about to get over - best part about this app is it does not use your T-mobile minutes
Only issue I have had so far is... the Bluetooth does not work while making calls with this app.. only handset or the speaker...

Need WiFi Calling apk

I really dont want to root/rom my phone but am in need of the WiFi Calling app for the S5 (Sprint). I can't wait for Sprint to get their act together for an OTA update. I assume that some kind person has this apk embedded in a rom that is up and running. Message me if my request is possible. Im willing to compensate for assistance.

Thanks for the input! I was thinking that the process was as simple as taking the apk from that device - assuming that it was compatible.

I use Viber for WiFi calling. However, you can only call the people who are on Viber already. This is a good apk if you're overseas trying to call home or vice-versa.

I'm not holding my breath for summer. I had a CSR @ Sprint tell me that they were beginning the OTA roll out of this feature on 5/11/14. When I called back yesterday, they had no idea where that CSR got that info and negated the date suggested. One hand doesn't know what the other is doing over there.

Use Google Voice VoIP apk from Play Store or one similar to it.
