[APP] First App Using Google App Inventor - Nexus One Themes and Apps

Been Using the app inventor for about 2 days now, its simple and hard at the same time LOL (I have no program. Exp.) But since I fell in love with android I had the Idea of creating an app that would preview my music to all and ultimately get them to purchase my music.I have created such app but it is very much a "WIP" the graphics are super dull and the idea was to have a preview and then buy songs all in one place but I can't wrap my head around the process at the moment.
I'm sharing to all (#1 for shameless advertisement) but #2 to get feedback, advice and ideas from the community.
Enjoy,
(Any negative feedback will be taken as constructive criticism)
P.S. Currently no app inventor app can be published to the market.I promise myself and the market not to create any (soundboard, torch apps) but this is another way of getting my music out and I think its a good way despite the primitive app.

[GAME] Cmoneys Virtual Pet Game Help Plz

Ive been working on this app for some time now. And basically I've come here to ask for some suggestions. I have completely run out of ideas for this app, but i really enjoy doing it. I have made a few other apps with App Inventor and put them on the market but nothing has come close to how good this one is and how well it has taken off in the market. I have even went as far as to making a donate version addon for $0.99. Now the donate version just has a few mini games and a premium store. I have attached a copy of the current version of the free app for you to try out and perhaps post some helpful comments/suggestion on where i can go next with this app. If you think you have a suggestion for the donate version but want to test it out, pm me and i can send you a demo version of the donate app that you can use for 5 times before it will expire. Anyone who can give me a good idea that i can use with app inventor, and then it turns out that i use that new feature will get credit for it in the app, and i will send them a free copy of the donate version that will not be a demo. I know its not much but i really like this app and i don't want to just abandon it. So any helpful comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Its also got a lot of downloads on both the market and on SlideME.org
SlideME.org: 10054
Market: 7783
Thats another reason i don't want to just abandon it. It seems that people like it but i am just running out of ideas.
Thanks!
P.S. Since its made with app inventor its a pretty big game to install about 5mb or more.
Android Market Description Below:
"If you like the free version, please consider purchasing the donate version.
UPDATE 1/12/2011
Check out the Donate version! It adds some new mini games and an online scoreboard. I AM NOT ABANDONING THE FREE PROJECT! The free project will still receive all the major bug fixes and maybe one or two mini games.
A simple virtual pet game, where you have a fish to feed, and clean up for. Has health bar, store to buy food, and option to buy a second fish.
App Inventor Extender is required for this app to function 100% Please download it from the market.

[app requests]

I've seen a few App Requests posted as threads here, and I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread dedicated to act as a catchall for App Requests. I gather that we have Dev Dudes from major tech corps roaming around these halls, so why not have a list of apps we want as consumers easily available to them!
I'll kick things off with these requests:
-A good, integrated guitar/bass tuner with metronome and practice timer(s)
-Adobe Camera RAW interface
-Adobe Bridge for tablets
-VLC Player for tablets
-DJ mixing software that can use headphone output and HDMI [audio] separately for cue/mix output
Feel free to point us to apps that fill requests as they are developed or if they have existed before the request
Way to develop/compile your own android programs.... (or at least just do the developping/autocomplete, etc would be AWESOME!) and well. an app that could launch a ubuntu distro

I'd like an app that you can instantly take a snapshot of the screen or take a camera snapshot and start to annotate on it right away, e.g you were browsing and came across something of interest and you want to add your own comments and underline or mark a specific area.
I know this can be done using repligo or ezpdf however it will involve a few steps to achieve using the Asus's in built snapshot feature and then converting the document to pdf in order to annotate but I want something instant without having to convert the file first, similar to htc flyers note taking app.
Can't you do this with Evernote? I just downloaded this last night but it seems really slick.

Unfortunately, you cannot annotate using evernote although it is fantastic for taking notes, i use it at work at meetings. I want to be able to take a snapshot of the meeting agenda which is usually printed and then start to add notes against agenda items.
I'm just going to make a list of the things I think will make this brilliant - I'm a very small time developer, and don't have the skills to do these, unfortunately:
Something similar to Microsoft Onenote - Drawing/notes/annotations all in one
"Phone Sync" where you pick up your tablet, and it also becomes your phone for SMS, MMS, Calls, and you can share clipboards between the two - This would be brilliant!
Decent Twitter and Facebook widgets
Modified Launcher with resizable widgets, folders - ideally, LauncherPro optimised for Honeycomb.
I'd like to see the Monkey Island games and some of the old Cinemaware titles such as Defender Of The Crown on Android.

You can play the monkey island games nicely using ScummVM.

I designed an Android app for tablet which I think would be pretty easy to make, UI, name, logo and all, but... I'm not a programmer. Also I believe this will be an app which would be handy for a lot of people.
Since I designed, thought of and branded the app I really don't just want to give the idea away to anyone, but if any app developer is interested feel free to contact me and I could explain the concept to them.
PS: I don't want a share of the profits or to get paid for it or anything like that, all I would want is to find a developer who could do justice to not only the concept but also to the design since there are so many well functioning but terrible looking android apps.
Excellent posts!
Thanks for the interest and the activity on the thread!
I'm watching a thread where a couple Asus dev dudes have actually weighed in on an issue users are having, so I'm gonna see if I can't point them to this one so we'll have some ears that can make a difference. Hopefully some [all?] of the ideas here will filter thru and become reality!
Kudos to everyone!
I'd like an app that can sync via bluetooth (not via the web/cloud), incoming sms messages/caller id/missed call info, from an android phone directly to the transformer with notifications.
I know there are lots which do it via the web, but this isn't an option for me (pre-pay sim not contract).
EDIT:
Another idea for an app, don't know if possible to implement or not. When browsing google search results it would be nice to have an app that lets you see how many kilobytes or megabytes a website requires you to download, before you accessed the page. So that mobile users can see how much data is required and can manage their free allowance better, or not be charged a fortune.
A media player app that can
1. have gesture controls like moboplayer
2. have good codec support like moboplayer
3. can stream from server
4. and can hide the honeycomb taskbar!!!!
Settlers of Catan map generator
Would be cool to see a Settlers of Catan map generator with support for Seafarers, Cities and Knights, Harbours and a roll counter.
did it ever occur to anyone that now that there is a keyboard and mouse capabilities that someone should port an fps to the transformer?
I would love an app/widget that monitored the battery of both the Transformer and the keyboard dock. It's almost impossible to tell how much juice is left in the keyboard. If someone knows of an app/widget or a built-in way to do that, please let me know.
Edit: I would also love to see a folder app that integrates data from the Market, so if I download a game, it automatically adds it to the Games folder, etc.

Eye-Fi for Android
I'd like to see a version of the EyeFi manager/control center for Android
still hunting for the torrent app to work with private torrents
alternate keyboard
since the dock is still in short supply it would be nice to have the ability to use my android phone as a keyboard/trackpad for my transformer through bluetooth or something. the entire screen could be a landscape keyboard that you could swipe down to access trackpad.

[APP] FileScout 1.0

(my) First app ever! Proof of concept, wanted to port some java code into android as fun project. This app is effectively a slimmed-down version of Google Hacks for android.
It performs a modified google search with emphasis on specific file types to help you find music, movies, books or anything else right through your browser, directly to your phone/tablet.
It is very small, but effective, especially with the right searches. It's also easy on the eyes and has simple controls. Comments and suggestions are welcome! I'm a fresh android developer and would love to hear what you think.
Very nice!

Are you the same developer for blackberry version of file Scout?
That's what she said...
@onestop: thank you!
@ayysir: no, I am not affiliated with the developers of FileScout for Blackberry in any way. I wrote this app without the intentions of publishing it, just as a test, and picked the name on a whim to help describe the app's function a little better.
Perfect man. Well done

[App] Skyrim Kinect Shouts

Just released this to the Play Store yesterday. It may be a simple app, but it can really come in handy. It lists every shout available for Skyrim for use with the Xbox's Kinect and includes the original voice recordings to give users an idea of the pronunciation of the dragon words.
I know most people will not have a use for this application, but if you fall in the minority that owns an Xbox, a Kinect, and an Android device, this app is for you.
Give it a download on the Play Store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...MsImNvbS5hbmRyb21vLmRldjU2MjU0LmFwcDU4MDUzIl0.
I just happen to fall under the "minority" you mentioned. Testing it out now.
I have finished playing Skyrim a month ago, and had no idea Bethesda enabled Kinect voice control. The game suddenly has replay value again.
Pros:
The app works well on my B&N Nook Tablet CM7.
A simple app that nicely fits an existing niche. All I can remember without this is probably just Fus Roh Dah.
Cons:
Some shouts are truncated too quickly and ends abruptly.
The shouts also seem higher pitched than what I'm used to from the games.
The kinect update is already out? Man I'm behind....
Come over to the dark side...
Planned updates
Not sure how many of you are aware of this, but this app required no coding on my behalf. I used an application generator called Andromo.
In the future, I'm hoping to code this myself and include many more features.
I will eventually include all 200+ commands into this application once I have coded it myself. This app is just a test to see if there is any interest.
Thanks for the support
Thanks a lot for the feedback. I had some issues with the sounds files from the game. These issues should be sorted shortly.
All of the shout files are divided into two files; the first file contains the first word and the second file contains the last two words. Joining the files together was a bit of a problem, but I'll improve them soon.
Thanks a lot
Large update planned:
Hoping to include all 200+ voice commands, not just the shouts.
So the app should become a huge help when playing the game.
This app is awesomely helpful....however I'm having a ***** of a time actually getting my kinect to respond quickly.
Come over to the dark side...
Works great as a sound board. I haven't got a Kinect -- I have an Xbox 360, but I play Skyrim on the PC, so this app is useless to me for the intended purpose, but I downloaded it because I thought it would be fun. Anyway, works great on Electrify 2.3.5, if you were looking for compatibility.
Thanks for the support and the feedback everyone!

[NEW APP][2.1+] 4 Months in Android Dev, Too much? or Fine?

Hello Guys,
After doing app re-skin for a while, i decided to stop and do some real things instead. I've started learning android programming for the last 4 months. I used Lynda.com, Team Tree House, Android Hive as learning resources and a lot (i mean a lot of) stack overflow threads! I created the app using Parse.com as BaaS (Backend as a Service) It's a great service to get your app off the group. I still don't have users to test it's performance but i hope it will do.
The app i created Called FoxyKards, It's a simple app where you can discover Life hacks, tips and tricks the easy way. Filter them by categories, places and supplies. Add to favorites and comment. There are a lot of amazing hacks on the internet some works perfectly and some didn't work at all! I built the app with one reason: to make the maximum use of these tips in your everyday life, to solve problems the smart way and to improve your life, that's why i've added the filters (categories, places,....).
In addition to the android app i created a website for it and an admin panel using Node js / express js.
I hope that you check it out, it's on the playstore and if you like it, it would be nice to see a review/feedback from you.
Playstore Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.handykards.lifehacks
Website Link: http://www.foxykards.com
What i'm doing now:
I'm filtering through a large list of life hacks and adding them in daily basis.
I'm learning to market the app via social media website
App Store Search Optimization (ASO)
App indexing
What i'm planning to do next:
Learning the most from users.
Adding a really smart feature i've thinking of and the reason i started android dev. The feature is when a user check-in to a place such as restaurant, gas station, airport ... via foursquare or other service, the app push a notification with tips and tricks you can use in that place.
I'am using Parse in one of my apps! Great platform.
I've downloaded the app. Check your inbox i sent u a message!
Great start!
