Thank you for the response and the zip guys!
@ Sporkman: That program you linked me to look great, but unfortunately, it doesn't prepare any ZIP files, always gives the Specified file not found error, which apparently the Dev never addressed, but thank you very much though!
@ bnice20: Can you give me the name of the tool, or the method you used to make this APK flashable? Even though it didn't work, quite the way I wanted, it did flash something, LOL!
Thanks again for your help guys, looking forward to your responses!

BUMPING for a tool that works for signing APKs to Flashable ZIPs !?

Hey ProFragger,
Did you ever figure out how to create a flashable zip file from an apk?
Also, I'm very curious what is the contacts app you had bcnice20 create for you?
I'm trying to take a people app from the EVO 3D or the Sense and put it on my EVO 4G so that I can filter the google contacts. EVO 4 G is the only HTC phone that doesn't have this option. I've been fighting it for years, but just recently rooted so now I'm looking at trying to mess with it again.

*bump.. sniff.. *bump**

app2zip, available on the android market. Unfortunately, I think you have to install the app, then select it and pres "Back up", and name it however you like.

I've made a tiny CLI for this: github dot com/mkg20001/apk2flashzip
Simply run `bash apk2flashzip.sh some.apk` and it should make a ZIP
(Couldn't post a link because newbie limits)

New Metamoprph update, need DD 2.7 Signal Fix Updated

Anyone want to help me by making a new updated XML format version of the Darchdroid 2.7 signal fix? I updated Metamorph and the old one won't work. Says all themes need to be updated to a new XML to be compatible. Anyone know about this?

My .xml file doesnt work with the newer Metamorph?
if that's the case, what the hell is that guy doing...backwards compatibility anyone?
Anyway, I'll take a look at it.
edit: also which version of MM are you using? newest one ( 1.9.9.13) just hangs on the initializing screen.
Yes I'm running the update from last night. It runs the theme and says it can't complete.

you mind uploading the metamorph.apk you're using?
Where would I get that? (Sorry, still very much a noob)

Here are the screen shots of the error. Keep in mind it says all themes applied, but does nothing. Only had this issue since I updated.
thats not a problem with the xml. Extract the Darch_visual_fix.zip using a computer or something onto your sdcard. then navigate to the xml with MM. don't use MM to extract the zip

[BOOTANIMATION] XoomNexus

This is the Xoom boot animation ported for the Nexus One. All credits go to tntdroid over at the androidcentral forums for his DroidX port.
Instructions
Place in tools folder, open a cmd prompt and:
Code:
adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local
Link.
Link2
Alternatively, flash the Xoom-signed file in your recovery of choice:
Link
Note: The little honeycomb bee is not part of the bootanimation but rather seems to be a splash screen, which as of yet N1 users can't change.
Do these instructions apply to the HD Desire port also...like MM's 1.7 build? Or is there some other location to push it to?
Thanks...looks cool.

The video doesn't do it justice.
I was hesitance because honestly it didn't look all that with the video.
I tried it and in person it's awesome looking. Thank you.
Also: I used Root Explorer to move the file to data/local

Yep, all N1 ROMs should be compatible, in fact unless I missed something all 800x480 devices should be compatible.
Good news every! This works perfectly!

+1 to this. I have rebooted twice in a row just to watch it!
Any possibility of this being made to a flashable zip? If anyone could be kind enough to do so for the more less experienced users it would be greatly appreciated.......thnx.

Wikipad Rooted

The Wikipad has been rooted and there is also a ClockworkMod Recovery available. I take no responsibility for your actions. This a choice you are making. If you brick your device that's on you. That being said, these procedures have been successful so far.
This only works on the Wikipad 7 inch running Android 4.1.1 and using Windows 7 64-bit (32-bit should work as well). I've not tried this with 4.2.2 or Windows 10, nor I have touched my Wikipad in years.
Download this: Everything you Need.zip and follow the read me(s).
A clean recovery backup! (Props to ordoeb) -- http://dfiles.ru/files/079843b8f
Thanks. Worked for me. Got root and clockworkmod. Still can't see my device in adb in Ubuntu. Trying to figure that out.
bad link
Thanks for root.
But link doesn't work.
Please, update the link "Everything you Need.zip".
Thanks again.
The Wikipad needs its own forum.

Finally
Mad props to ordoeb! Thank you and thank you again.
I'm downloading his stock image. I'll install it, make sure it's clean, then upload a copy with a link to share. As promised, I will also release instructions and files for root.
ordoeb, you've done the Wikipad community a great service. We now have full control over a device we love.
We now:
-Have a way to backup the device
-Restore the device (even in some "bricked" situations")
-Create Custom Roms
-And root the device
:good:

How did you do it? I did everything correctly and I'm stuck in "waiting for device"
[SOLVED] I placed the original fastboot in the motochopper folder which probably didn't do anything. But since my android drivers are everywhere! I removed the adb_usb that was provided in the everything you need rar and used Google's USB drivers. Worked like a charm!

I downloaded it when it was called "just for you.zip" now the zip just has stuff about baltimore. Hopefully we'll get something to root the Wikipad soon. It's a good tablet, but it needs button mapping and I want to see if I can get rid of some of the useless google apps.
Thanks

New Link.
This is not exactly a mirror but a new upload. Idk if I can even do that but its needed.
Root does work and there are instructions inside the zip.
The original download link works as well because I've seen that weird download link while trying to download via mobile network. After switching to WiFi it was there bright and clear.

Yup yup! I'd also create a backup of your own, not saying the one provided is bad. But on my device it stops the G-Sensor from functioning. Could just be my device though. Just a tip aha.
Hello guys,
I just received my Wikipad 7, it's a very great console without big audio lag unlike my Nvidia Shield...
Controls are excellent !
I just rooted my Wikipad, but I seen it's only a Tegra 3 T30L (not a T30S as described on first Wikipad Details before its release...)
So it's blocked at 1.3Ghz for 1 core and 1.2Ghz for 4 cores (instead of 1.5Ghz-1.4ghz as promised).
This tablet is a Nexus 7 clone lol So maybe an overclocked kernel is possible ? We can also dump the boot etc. with the ClockworkMod Recovery.
Thanks for your help.
I also made a topic in Q/A forum.

No need to make udater-script if your using ZipMe App! It automatically makes flahsable zips.
Dude.... If you want to make a flashable zip of custom ROM, then you must have to edit or make one updater script, zipme will make a updater script for you, but you have to change the block locations and do the symlink command by hand

I would love to know why it's so hard for developers to add by default that their apps should work with older versions, i would love reading in length about this.
