hi to all
thanx to all developers here (there are alot so i cant count all of them )
here is a package ready to use which is make cab icons to the true icons.
if you have alot of cab files in the storage you will note that it is very slow in scrolling down, so if you put the package it will make them with the origional icon which make the scrolling very fast
Test it and you will note that
(a little built from me)
also this is Contacts Manager Package
also this is Contacts Manager Package
which is enable select all the contacts an beam or delete all together
anoher useful package
SMSDRFIX
which is match number in the sms to the conact name
SoftKey Changer
it is known from the most, its cpl which is used to change the soft keys
BT_FTP
BT_FTP enables to share folders using bt
maybe you have it but somebody else dont
((ALL THE PACKAGES TESTED))
registry package which associate reg files to TaskManager
registry package which associate reg files to TaskManager
if you have pandora's kitchen and add task manager to edit reg files, you noticed it wasn't associated with the reg files and most do it manualy, so you can associate them directly with this package
also the same with PIM Packup, you can associate all pim backup files directly to PIM Packup
and POCKET RAR the same
((YOU MUST ADD TASKMANAGER, PIM BACKUP, AND POCKET RAR FIRST))
make your roms better and smarter

Dang i thought it was just me!! But you are right it works!!! I even made a cab file for the cabfile icon fix!!
I have been trying to find a way to use the minilla2d on my treo 700wx. I did manage to get it parcially install utilizing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2841354&postcount=175 step-by-step. I also had to use the xda-developer-m2d.cab off freeppcsoftware and another cab (which I cannont find the link for) that was a patch for non-htc phones.
My issue is the screen size is two long and the widget slide icon bar at the bottom of m2d does not display. Is there a way or can some with better skills cook an install that fits the 320x240 700wx screen? I assume this is possible because a similar widget bar is used at the bottom of icontacts. There is also a m2d for the kiaser which is suppose to have the same screen size. Any assistants would greatly be appreciated.

Is having you copy the resized skin files into the right place.
Disable TF2D from your today screen and copy the files over, then soft reset and enable it.
Edit: yes, download finished, you need to copy the files from "Step Two" Into your /Windows DIR, or the skin will be the wrong size.
Edit two: woops didnt notice your screen rez, pick any QVGA skin from the M2D skins thread in D&H and paste the files into /windows or use one of the M2D customiser skins, again QVGA.
veyka,
Thank you. I did copy the files to my \windows folder. Thank you for clarifying that I need to do the same thing using a QVGA theme.
(Originally posted on Rhodium Forum but should work with most devices running Manila hence re post here).
Hi all
To help organise my applications I've always wanted to be able to shortcut to start menu folders from within the manila program launcher but standard functionality did not allow for this.
I found this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416092
and I've developed the ideas a little and come up with a cab which will allow you to link to your Connectivity, Games, Multimedia, System Tools and Utilities folders within the Start Menu from the manila program launcher.
First go to Windows/Start Menu/Programs to see if you have the above folders, if you haven't you can create them. You don't have to have them all but the shortcuts will only work to the ones you have.
Then install the attached cab. This will provide you with a set of shortcut files that can be selected from program launcher as normal. (Thanks to Andrew-in-Woking and this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?p=1782122 for the icons which I used).
I've tested on my Kaiser and Rhodium both on WM6.5 and seems to work fine. Let me know of any issues.
John
Id like to take on the task of creating my own theme specifically for the tg01 but i really dont know where to start. Which images are themeable and what programs do i need to create a theme ? Id like to do a theme for windows 6.5 along with spb.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'd suggest that you start by dissasembling one of the MS standard Themes supplied with WM6.5. There are .cabs for each of these in this post on XDA.
A Theme (.tsk) is just a .cab file containing a series of images used to skin different elements of the screen / UI. At its simplest, creating a new theme can be a question of editing / substituting one or more of those files and then re-packing into the .tsk file and iinstalling. It is of course possible to substantially alter the .xml definition files which specify the layout of elements and their behaviours.
To manipulate .cab files a good (full payware, and not cheap) tool is WinCECABManager. It is available on a trial basis (30 days). There are also other less elegant tools which can be found with a search which will do the job.
There are a lot of threads elsewhere addressing this subjetct - it is WM version specific rather than device specific.
Hi,
I created an icon set as a cab file. It works near perfect, but some icons don´t change. I´m wondering why
I used Win CE Cab Manager to create the cab.
Following Icons don´t change:
bing
the complete office icons (the outlook icon works)
in call recorder
flashlight
the folder icon messages
encryption
Does someone know why the icons don´t change?
Ben
I give up ´
I think i´ll releas the icon set as png files
use a regualr icon changer for those.. some things have multiple copys.. and the easiest way to attack them is brute force.
i know that, when i dont clear htc sense cache...
maybe this helps..

you have to erase the png files first then run the cab and all icons should change.
you have to add registry entries, as shown in the screenshot
my suggestion is to download my basic icons cab and replace the icons with those of your likings. make sure you keep the file names intact!
i use artemis rom which is very close to stock. if you use a rom with the icons organized differently, you'll need to change the registry entries accordingly.
pm me if you can't find your way
cheers,
antaed
@m0bmentality: Hell Yeaahh, you´re right but i´ll try it with the basic icon set of antaed
@mrkevinhall: Thanks for the tip, but i´ve tried this before
@antaed: Thanks, i´ll try it, maybe it works. I use the artemis rom, too
is their a way to extract the basic htc/windows mobile icons to png files?

they are png files already, if you mean how to extract them: (with wince cab manager) go to cabinet>files>extract...
you will also find some qtc files, you don't need to modify those.
just extract the png files to a folder on your pc, replace them with your icons (use the same names!!!) and repack the cab.

IF you just set your pc to allow you to see hidden and system files.. then open up phone/windows in active sync they will all be there too

yes but in my reply to benalive i'm referring strictly to how to unpack and replace the icons from my bull's eye basic icon pack cab.
but maybe i misinterpreted his last question and he wants to know how to get original icons from the phone instead. if this is the case i'm sorry for the confusion, my bad...
cheers

I replaced the icons of your basic cab, it works great. Thanks
I´ll release my icon set today
