...can please for the love of sweet Jesus please please please get rid of the HTC Lock for incoming calls when the phone is coming from a sleep/locked state!!! All of the necessary Vanilla icons and swipes and slides and everything are already in the framework file. Please someone with the requisite knowledge take this and run with it!!! $50 FROM ME TO YOU
I believe you'd have to completely remove the lock screen in general... are you sure that's something you wanna' do?
Delete the HTClockscreen.apk from system/app in root explorer
Deleting that .apk only gets rid of the lock screen to get into the phone home screen, but the incoming call lock screen to answer or decline the call still remains as the HTC lockscreen.
You would need to totally get rid of the HTC dialer and use the aosp one. Unfortunately this has been an issue for those working on cross sense/aosp roms.
Hopefully they will figure it out soon.

Often after I make one call, I need to make a follow up. Like, if I check my voicemail I will have to call the person back. On the captivate, after you hang up, it ends the call and then immediately sends you back to the home screen. I really liked my old tilt that gave you the dialer screen for a few seconds before quitting out to home. Does anyone know of a way to do this? Some hidden option or a dialer replacement app? I'm avoiding rooting my phone for the moment, but if that would help, I would.
Try Dialer One from the Market. Pretty nice.
Nice!!
I was looking for a dialer replacement also (the stock sux!). I might keep this phone now, Thanx!!!
How would I achieve this? Im fully rooted running the Sprint lovers rom. I have a custom font flashed along with my lcd density modified. The combo of the 2 makes the Sense bar look horrible. I managed to delete the sense lockscreen and it automaticly reverted to the vanilla one which is what I want. Can some one please help me to achieve this outcome on the incoming call screen. It is the only thing between me and having my Evo the way I want it.

From what I understand, I don't think it can be done. I would LOVE if there was a way to do this but I believe it is coded into the framework and it can't be removed. That's my understanding of it. Too bad
That would be good... if its possible JS would prolly be the 1 to figure it out....

Not possible with sense..the lock screen can be changed to the aosp lock screen but that doesn't remove the Htc incoming lock screen, its tied to the dialer

speaking of the sense incoming call screen, how many other people have the problem where maybe 20% of the time the screen won't respond to input and allow you to unlock or answer the call? This is pretty much the only thing that ever goes wrong with my phone lol. I end up having to just hit the power button, miss the call, and then call them back...a little annoying

I have the same issue. One of the only issues I have with my phone. The other being sliding out of my pocket answers/declines calls. Thus looking for a way to remove the slider. Guess we are stuck.
^^^ I have the same problem... doesnt happen too often, but it is annoying. Could this be due to a phone call coming in when CPU is running at a minimun setting?
is there anyway to add pictures to my lock scree? Or have it show me the in coming text? Also I cant get it to vibrate the phone on in coming text...
and one last thing, I seem to get a lot of force closing apps... Is there a reason for this?
Running HTC inspire (root) with CM7
What I'll often find happening with my HTC Desire S is that I receive a call on the phone, and as I'm rushing to get it out of my pocket I'm accidentally managing to swipe the screen, which rejects or accepts the call, when I didn't want to.
What's the best way to avoid this, given that I want to keep my phone in my pocket? I'd kind of like the screen to remain disabled when a call is being received until I press the power button at which point it becomes sensitive. Is there a way to do this or something which would avoid this accidental accept/reject of calls?
Is there anything built into Android that would allow this? An app? Or would it require development of a new app to get this kind of functionality?

i had the same problem on sense 2.1 lockscreen
try using the sense 3.0 lockscreen, i haven't had this problem on this lockscreen
a) How do I switch to the 3.0 lockscreen?
b) Why doesn't this problem occur with it; how is the design better?

a)you need to s-off then ROOT
then you can install a custom ROM with 3.0lockscreen(LBC mod or virtuous unity ROM) or just apply the lock screen from this thread
b)in the new lock screen you need to drag & drop the button in the ring so it doesnt get activated when you take the phone out of your pocket
So I'm new to android (I'm only one week old ) and I'm amazed of course.
I tried to find an answer to my question (below) using an application from market or within my sn xperia neo v settings but nothing for 2 days now .
So here is my question:
When i receive a call, is it possible to first, unlock screen ( so that i have access to menu of phone) and THEN choose weather to answer the call or not.
just curious, why not decline the call right away instead of going into menu if its a phone call you don't want to answer.
But I DO want to answer it. I just want this to happen AFTER I can access the main menu or an app i want to open first.
I don't think it is possible anymore. Reason is that it was a security weakness. You could have someones locked phone, call it yourself, hit the menu button while ringing, and bypass the lock screen completely thus having free reign of someone elses previously locked phone.
There are some videos on YouTube showing you how to do it from 2010. The security hole seems to have been patched.
First of all, thanks you guys for the replies.
But I don't want the phone to unlock itself when someone calls.
All I want is when someone calls to have the choice to be able to access my phone's menu by unlocking it with slide or code or whatever I have and then IF I want to answer the phone or not.
I don't want to bypass the lockscreen. On the contrary!
Edit:What happens now is that when someone calls FIRST I have to answer or decline the call, THEN to unlock with slide/code, and THEN access the menu. I hope I haven't confused anyone.
We understand what you are trying to do. Not sure why though. But what you want to do would in effect bypass the security and that hole has been patched.
Just curious. What do you need to access before you answer or decline?
I want to access the office as soon as possible. Because of multitasking office closes automaticaly and i cannot keep it locked in order to stay open when certain people call me i have to keep them waiting to give them information they need. I have to answer, then i have to open office, open the file, go to the information i need and then give it to them. All that and the one who calls has to wait 'till i do all that.
So because i cannot lock an app in order to force it to stay open i figured, at least i can first open the file i want and then answer the phone.
I hope it makes some sense to you.
Again thanks for trying
