Hey guys. I was wondering if there is a way/app that will enable me to use swype while is portrait mode and HTC_IME mod in landscape mode. I'm aware that you can just change it urself when you switch, but it would be nice to have it switch automatically when you rotate the phone.
For me it seems swype is nice for quick texts, but I cant stand the portrait swype keyboard and its nice to go portrait for web browsing and long posts/emails. Thanks for the help =)
I would like to know this a well. I think the answer is "no"

I was wondering if there was any application out there that I could use to have separate keyboards for landscape and portrait? I would lioe to be able to use swype for portrait and have it switch to better keyboard when I'm using landscape? Or maybe someone could create it if there wasn't already something like that on the market (dot dot dot hint)?

Not seen anything that auto switches.. But it's quite quick to long press on the text input box and change the input method.. I suppose!!!

Nahh... that takes too long for me, that's why an automatic one would be best

Same issue
I have had that same problem... i hate the phone screen flipping around all the time but the only time i think its useful and worth the annoying accidental flips is when you are viewing pictures. Unfortunately, no there isn't a way to make it only work in the gallery.
Here's two workarounds:
There are home screen widgets that will let you quickly enable and disable the display rotation feature.
You can download any of the thousands of nice photo viewing apps from the market. Many of them have an option in there settings to make them stay in landscape mode.
the 8-6-AW superaosp ROM have this option ,so any one can do it?
thanks.
Is there an app available where we can choose what apps we can rotate and not rotate. Plus this app would also need to force rotate the apps that only rotate to one certain way in landscape and not the other. Thank you..

What k0sh it trying to say, is there isn't an app that does that. However, there is the shortcut in the status bar (Samsung roms only) that allows you to force the phone into one orientation only.

The reason I ask is I grabbed a netflix apk and that one rotates to wich ever way I have the screen. The original one that I grabbed from the market did not. So I was trying to see if I could have all my apps do that. But from what you guys said I guess its not available yet. Thank you both for the response..
I realize I liked the Samsung keyboard (I switched to CM so it is gone). I used to use smartkeyboard but they've never added slide typing or whatever you call it when you slide your finger around the keyboard.
So anyway, does anyone really love a particular keyboard and why?

Have you tried SwiftKey Tablet?
It's not free but it has the swiping feature, and in landscape mode it splits into two halves so you can type with your thumbs.
The Google Keyboard is free, and also has the swipe feature.

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually found Swype (also not free) which I really love. It has every feature I could ask for except for one thing. It doesn't have a built in button for disappearing the keyboard. Most of the time - but not always - a button appears on my nav bar. Other than that I would call it the perfect keyboard.

Hi,
Some apps can only be used in landscape mode. This is annoying as I am using also my phone in landscape mode.
Is there a trick (using tasker for example) or an app that could force these apps to be used in landscape as well as in portrait?
Regards, Chris
Ultimate Rotation Control is the app you are searching for

Hi,
With this app, you can set landscape manually only.
I am looking for a way to have the app going in landscape automatically when the smartphone sensor notice that I am in landscape mode.

No, with the app you can set auto mode itself in the app. Select Auto (full)
