nandroid first and give it a try i never flashed the odexed version if it doesnt work right wipe and reinstall
i was coming from cm6 so of course i wiped everything..
Awesome thanks! I was trying to do this myself with Andrizoid's kitchen but it missed about a quarter of the files and doing them all by hand was taking too long so I gave up.

try Dsixda's android kitchen it deodexes signs zipaligns autoroots the works and its finally got ported to windows awhile back i use linux so i havent tried it on windows though.

its the exact same thing as flips newest stock rom its just deodexed and zipaligned

wifi tether works for me out of the box havent noticed any apps missing from the market either didnt really look that hard though
and yea dsixda made an insanely easy yet powerful kitchen thats pretty much fool proof
prolly gunna cook up another custom rom later on with the kernel we have source for any fps fixes HAVS all that good stuff..

@bcnice... i think SteelH means what are the differences between 3.26 and this new 3.28 OTA. I too would like to know the difference and if it is even worth the update. does it contain new radios? maybe an updated PRI? <---- that would be awesome! etc.etc.

im not seeing a change in the kernel or the web browser vs what i had from your version Steelh.... i hope your planning on putting out your own as well

What version of wifi-tether have you guys gotten to work successfully? I just tried pre8 and it get FC every time. Rebooted and still get FC.

Only bug I found was that the Weather/Clock widget will only show a temp in celcius. Lack of cam is the only real problem for me. Im sure Toast is still working diligently to get the cam module working.

No. No camera, no MMS, and no visual voicemail. Everything else works. At least that's what Flipz told me. I haven't tried it yet, but everything that guy does is great. I'm sure it's awesome.

Maybe just a glitch for me. I changed it to farenheit within the desktop clock setting.....worked there, but not the widget. Im flipping back and forth between nandroids with stock and this rom. Try again later.

Dunno. If I remember right, last time Flipz did an early release, his supporters got it 2 or 3 days earlier than the rest of the community. Just assume Sunday or Monday to be safe. That way you don't have to keep checking. If it comes earlier than that, you'll get a bonus. No promises though, I'm just speculating off of what happened last time.
i have a problem i donated but with the wrong email and i do not have access to that email account what should i do. BTW i updated my paypal with my new email. so hopefully flipz will send it to the new email.

Lol, if you read the first post in my 2.1 rom you'll see that market shows all apps, including protected ones
EDIT: And i'm sure you can get it working on flipz' 2.0.1 rom too if you just edeited the fingerprint in the build.prop

Since this is my first attempt at cooking a rom, I didn't make any visual changes. It should look identical to the CM6 nighly build. All I did was remove a couple of things and integrate gapps.
I'll gladly post a screenshot, if I can figure out how. How does everybody normally go about taking screenshots? Is there an app to do it right from the phone, or do I have to get my rom running in the emulator to get a screenshot?

I thought the request for a screenshot was funny since there really isn't much to look at. This was me just trying to test out the kitchen, I'll make a more interesting rom in the future.
Anyway, did anybody test it? Was maps being goofy for you or was that just happening to me?
As I recall, maps were working quite well, even with a very quick GPS fix on CM6 for me. I agree that the screenshot request was funny

You shouldn't need to wipe, unless your running something older than RC1.

First off all credit to Herver for his great rom. All info on the original rom and Herver is below.

And it has some issues so its here if you want it but it might not be stable. wireless tethering is still giving me issues and the hulu app is just false hopes but im to tired to mess with it anymore tonight. I have it working on my phone but when I try to flash the rom it gives me some errors. BUT even with the errors it looks like it installs somewhat correctly. I will upload what I have as a beta if anyone REALLY wants to try it but it has its problems.
Uploading at the moment with AOSP Dialer, Contacts, Email, MMS, and Music. So far its been running very stable for me. A couple little things I need to fix but it doesnt effect performance at all.

This sounds awesome! All the benefits of Baked Snack (which I used to run and loved) without the cruft of Sense (which is the reason I dropped it for CM6).... Downloading now. I'll let you know how it goes.

Because I'm using a Rom that is working beautifully but just see that when I receive a call it shows the stock phone app and the scroll down answer bar. I want the aosp mode. I don't like to auto decline people when taking my phone out of the pocket . Thanks

Make sure you understand this is more like Alpha rather than Beta. All the graphics are just 240/320 streteched to fit our screens, and this won't be your daily without a lot of effort, but it's a crazy awesome start

I would imagine not. The Wildfire is a low-end phone, marketed to be an introductory low-budget Android phone for those who are new to the idea of a smartphone.

Hey, no rush. Anything you guys can do is fantastic. Soon as I got to setting up Sense I got the option to switch to English anyway. This ROM is amazingly fast--can't wait 'til it's up and running. I gotta get to bed for tonight, though, so I'll keep playing with this tomorrow.

Personal opinion-- The font looks cool, but because of the size and restricted space on the phone, looks a bit cluttered.
I know I haven't cooked any roms and probably don't have that patience needed to do so, so my opinions are just that. Other than the font and a few added apps, it basically seems like a themed stock rom. That being said, it is a good start, and it is nice to see more people venturing into rom building.

Definitely unnecessary feedback! I don't even know why people comment if they're not even willing to try. That's kinda like my 4yr old saying he doesn't like something before he even knows what it is...lol
I would like the link to the kitchen also... I really want to try and mess around with rom making...

same as well. Im running Virtual Box with linux and i run into errors opening a working folder for a rom. Not sure wtf to do from there since I keep running into errors. I tried a stock rooted rom and also one of OMJ's stock roms and kept running into supposedly update.zip errors... says cant fine file... tried renaming... no go. Any help would be appreciated but im willing to help you out on this ROM to the best of my ability. thx again for your work. Anyone that cooks a rom deserves credit and props IMHO. Have to learn somewhere. take care man.
EDIT: Flashing in a few hrs have to take care of some personal stuff at the house. Then I will get cracking and testing. thx

Its Simple to use but takes a while to set up.
looks nice. I am down to test. Tried cyanogenmod and one other, but I have yet to find one to pull me away long term from stock rooted. Will post feedback. Thanks for the work.
you should probably also zipalign it. seems like a pretty good stock rom. same as steelh's (which is the same as stock + deodexed) but with caulkin fixes. doesnt sound like testers are even needed.
some arguments seem to be boiling. lets stay on topic. this isnt the place to argue your points. give constructive criticism or dont post. no sense in bashing people for trying.

Thanks bro!! downloaded the newest version (is that the best one for me to use?) and will play with it tonight when I get off work. I had searched XDA for a kitchen before but must have overlooked it. If there is a certain version of the kitchen that is better than the newest one then let me know. I just figured that the newest one would have all the corrections necessary and extras that have been added. Thanks again!!
